In this Five Star Audiobook Review, Sarah Ready's "Ghosted" proves to be yet another home run as the author showcases her remarkable talent for striking emotional chords with her readers (or listeners). The book's initial third captivates and enthralls even those unacquainted with the paranormal romance genre. However, the story takes an unexpected turn, revealing itself as more than just a paranormal romance. Ready masterfully weaves in a captivating background theme centered around being a Trekker and the intricate subculture that accompanies it.
The true icing on the cake is the exceptional narration by Sarah Naughton. Her voice effortlessly brings to life the intricate descriptions of the book's protagonist, Jillian Nejat. Naughton's narration contributes immensely to the immersive experience of the audiobook, enriching the emotional depth and connection readers feel with the characters and the unfolding story.
One aspect that stands out in "Ghosted" is the artful balance of sensuality. The book's spice level is elegantly moderate, offering a sensual and intimate portrayal of love-making that is far from overtly explicit. This approach sets "Ghosted" apart, steering clear of the typical in-your-face eroticism in some romance novels. Instead, the author focuses on building a connection between characters that resonate deeply with listeners, emphasizing emotional intimacy as much as physical.
In conclusion, Sarah Ready's "Ghosted" proves to be a multifaceted gem in the realm of paranormal romance. With its skillful emotional narrative, unexpected genre-blending, and top-notch narration, it stands out as a must-listen audiobook for both avid fans of the genre and newcomers alike. The expertly balanced sensuality further cements its uniqueness, making "Ghosted" a tale of love that tantalizes the heart and mind in equal measure.

I loved this book! I wash pretty much hooked from the beginning. I find it funny, touching, sexy, mischievous, entertaining and just a damn good read. I highly recommend it.

Jillian moves in to her new apartment. It's in her price range. It's in a good area. It has mirrors on all the surfaces. It comes with a ghost. She hasn't been able to talk to men, any men. Once the ghost, Danial, shows up and scares her, she soon realizes she can not only see and hear him, she can talk with him.
I kept thinking they would find him in a hospital in a coma and he would wake and they would be together forever. That's not what happens. I couldn't put the book down until I found out what happened. I actually went to bed with my kindle reading to me so I could find out what happened. I have already recommended this to a coworker. I really hope there are more books about Jillian and Daniel.
I was given the opportunity to listen to the audiobook from NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.

What a great story! I was not expecting to love it as much as I did with the paranormal aspect. 5 stars

The concept seems interesting but I honestly couldn’t get past the Xrated verbiage. I’m all for a bit of romance or sex scene but when you so blatantly throw it around it becomes as disinteresting as a porn movie. BUT if that’s your thing? Than this book is DEFINITELY for you!

This is my 4th Sarah Ready book, and she's on my very short list of "Must-Read" authors, which is saying something since I'm still not all-in on the romance genre. It's not easy to constantly craft characters that I want to find happily-ever-afters, and yet each book leads me to that exact place.
The narrator was lovely. At 2x speed, it was easy to keep up with all the emotions and inflections without grating on my ears. It was easy to multi-task without my mind wandering while listening.
Ghosted excels at creating realistic characters. Jillian is quirky-simultaneously confident and self-conscious. Daniel is self-assured and semi-guarded. Their quest to build trust with each other (albeit at totally separate times) crafts a light-hearted, feel good story that supports the lovely idea that "when you know, you know."
The "cast of characters" is the perfect description for the secondary tier; well-intentioned but old fashioned parents; hovering Fran that pushes as much as she supports; the work crew of Buck, Ned, Bernardo, & Haley; and, of course, the long distance bff Serena who's knowledge of science is secondary only to knowing how to coax Jillian into action. All of the dialogue & interactions were realistic and pretty natural.
Personally, I didn't love the Ghost aspect....but I get why it was used. It created some levity and helped the characters to not take themselves too seriously. On several occasions, I giggle audibly and found myself smiling as the story unfolded.
Overall: 4 stars
I'll tell my students about: alcohol, language, sex, drugs, trauma/death,
**Thank you to NetGalley and W. W. Crown, Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) for the free ALC. All opinions expressed are my own.**

A sweet love story, with just a little soft spice.
Nerdy, with important topics. I listened to the audio book as well as I read the book myself and the narrator was perfect for this job.
The book kept me going as I was wondering how everything would turn out.

This is my first ever Paranormal Romance book. And let me tell you. It did not disappoint.
Jillian is a sex expert who is unable to speak to men. Jillian works for a gazette company, writing her advice on relationships. When she runs short on money, Jillian decides to move into a small apartment in NYC, that happens to look like a playboy lived there before her. She soon starts to realize that she is not alone. Daniel is the ghost that happens to be haunting her in her apartment. When Jillian has decided she has had enough of Daniel, she goes to a psychic and asks how to get rid of him. The psychic tries to help Jillian, but they soon find out that Daniel might be there to help Jillian.
Daniel is convinced he is there to help Jillian with her love life and capability to talk to men. When they soon start to go on dates, one leads to another that leads to another. With no luck, Jillian starts to realize that Daniel might be the only guy for her, and she starts to fall in love with him. Daniel feels this big connection to Jillian. Despite not remembering his life or anyone in it, he remembers being Jillian's friend. But one day after making love to Daniel, Jillian realizes that Daniel has disappeared, and she can't find him. A few weeks later when she is on a shopping day with her friend, she notices Daniel. When she runs to him and hugs him, she notices that he is a real person. The only problem is Daniel has no clue who she is or why she is hugging and kissing him. She then figures out that Daniel is supposed to help her, and she is supposed to help Daniel. Jillian starts to find ways to find him, and she does everything she can to help him remember who she is. But does he?
This audiobook was so good. I could not stop listening to it. The narrator did such a great job. This book is so sweet and light, it keeps you wanting to know what is going to happen next. Thank you Netgalley for letting me listen before the release date.

First, I want to thank NetGalley and W.W. Crown Publishing for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. Ghosted by Sarah Ready releases on September, 26th, 2023.
Second, PUT THIS ON YOUR TBR IMMEDIATELY!!!!! This is 100% a five star read.
Ghosted by Sarah Ready introduces us to Jillian as she moves into her new (oddly mirrored) apartment in New York. She can't speak to men and doesn't have a love life because of it, much to both her parents and her old neighbor's dismay. She writes an advice column on relationships and, as you can guess, isn't getting stellar reviews. But then, in comes Daniel.
A ghost.
A ghost who seems to know her name.
A ghost who insists that they are friends.
A ghost who refuses to leave Jilly alone.
This book was everything all rolled into one. It was funny, it was romantic, it was sad. The roller coaster of emotions that this book put me on was absolutely insane - while listening to the audiobook I found myself having to stop what I was doing because of the overwhelming amount of emotion that was packed into this story. While listening, I could feel what Jilly was going through and I never stopped rooting for her.
Ghosted is likely going to go down as one of my most loved books of 2023 and I have a feeling that Sarah Ready is going to be an auto-buy author for me in the future. I did not want the story to end, I wanted to continue learning not only about our main characters Jillian and Daniel, but of all the supporting characters. This book was so easy to get lost in.
I wouldn't say there are many trigger warnings in this book, however, suicide is mentioned. It is not a huge part of the plot in my opinion and it is not talked about very much, but it is there in case you are sensitive to the topic.
Overall, this book was one that I have a feeling is going to stick with me. It is one of those rare books that I can see myself going back and reading again in the future, just because of how good it was. It was cute, it was different, and the narration was spot on.
If you are searching for a cute romance that has a slight twist to it, pick this book up. I would definitely say that this could be a great book for reading during fall - it just gave off those cozy vibes of early sunsets and changing leaves.

This was a a great read! I’m a nerd and this maid my hart so happy to read. If you like Star Trek and romcoms this is the book for you! If you like crazy coworkers and best friends that encourage your insanity then I think you’ll like this book for them as well. The audio narration was very well done and just pulled me into this story.

Sarah Ready is once again the queen of romance books that are super emotional. This one didn't have me sobbing like The Space Between but it did have it's heart breaking moments. I'm always super interested in ghost romance books because I feel like they are hard to do. Usually, either you set them in a paranormal world where it's possible to bring people back from the dead or you know that the love interest is not actually dead they just think they are. This can make them a tad predictable. This book surprised me by coming up with a path I hadn't thought of and not being predictable in the least. I loved Daniel and Jillian's story, particularly how he taught her to stand up for herself. I also liked that they had a shared understanding of the trauma's they had experienced in the past. I definitely recommend this one! The perfect fall read or really any time of year!
I listened to the audiobook version of Ghosted and thought the narrators did a great job! This is a duel narrator audiobook for those who have a preference.

3.5 Thank you to NetGalley, W. W Crown and Sarah Ready for an advanced copy of the audio book in exchange for an honest review.
I particularly enjoyed the job that the narrator does in the audiobook. If the narrator wasn't so skilled, this may have felt a bit long for a romance. Overall, I found the storyline to be sweet and enjoyable. I wasn't sure how the characters were going to get to their HEA, and I found the alternate timelines to be a creative and effective method to achieve resolution.
My main criticism is how sappy the language was when the characters discussed their feelings for one another and the descriptions of "ghost sex" - very over the top.

Oh. Em. Gee!
I’ll start with that narration. It was engaging and kept me hooked beginning to end.. Sarah Naughton was phenomenal. Jillian was a character that was not single dimensional and Sarah captured her transformation—along with all of the other characters so perfectly. I kept waiting for the dual POV and Rob Brinkman to come in and was a little confused waiting for that transition—and when it happened it was the perfect bow—and just as engaging as the rest of the story.
For the story itself—since the first book I read from Sarah Ready (French Holiday) I keep finding myself drawn back to her books and saying ‘that’s a top read of the year—it may be my favorite of hers’—then I read her next book, and I’m like ‘owp—maybe that’s my favorite book of hers.’ At this point she can write the want ads and I will gladly read them—and probably pin them to my top reads of 2023 list.
Sarah’s characters are fun and intriguing—they reel you in and make you care from the start. The side characters are just as interesting and help to carry the story through, and Ghosted is no exception.
Jillian suffers from trauma induced shyness that is basically debilitating in certain cases. She is just going through life existing—and barely at that—until a delicious half naked man shows up in her mirrored sex den. We are taken on a journey of watching these two characters—Jillian and Daniel—doomed from the start fall in love, and be tragically ripped apart, because how can they possibly make it?
I want to be apart of the news family Jillian has. I want to be at that conference table and engage in the banter and antics that these characters have. The love story was beautiful and enough to make even the most jaded person believe in true love—but this little side cast of found family added so much to this story.
I can’t wait to see what comes next—and until then I have everything before Josh & Gemma ready to go while I wait!

Sarah Ready has quickly become an author I know I can turn to for a love story that packs a punch. Her love interests are always swoony, her stories intriguing to the very end. Having gone into Ghosted mostly blind, it was so thrilling to be along for the ride with Daniel and Jillian as they worked to piece together if a happy ending could be possible for them given the unconventional way they came into each other's lives.
Given the way the story was structured, with the plot taking an unexpected direction about halfway through, Ghosted managed to feel a bit like a play. The first act revolved around one plot, leading to an exciting climax right before the intermission. Once given the chance to ponder where it all could be going, the audience jumps back in with the second act, where the players haven't changed but the premise has. This was certainly an unconventional romance that kept me guessing. Plus, the narrators were great, affirming my choice to consume this book as an audiobook.
Thanks to NetGalley, W.W. Crown and Sarah Ready for this ALC in exchange for an honest review.

I spent most of this book trying to figure out how all of this was going to work and how the couple would end up together. Sarah Ready did an excellent job keeping me on my toes. Now that I've finished it I had a good time listening to the book but my brain is having to repeat that it's paranormal and the author can "do that" if she wants. It's unbelievable to me and if that type of story line doesn't bother you I think you'll really enjoy it. I was definitely entertained and would recommend it.
The narrators were great but I found it odd that the male narrator was only used to voice the very last epilogue.

This book was amazing! Top notch! The ultimate romance. This book fills you with hope about true love and purely demonstrates learning to love yourself first. The characters are relatable. The intimacy alone in this book had me crying. Sarah Ready has never disappointed me, this book was perfect! Thank you for the 5 star read!

When I first started the book and saw how long it was, I didn’t know if I would finish it. But after a few chapters, I was hooked and so invested in the characters and what would happen next!
Narrator did a great job with this!

I was so confused for most of this book trying to figure out what was actually going on. I still don't exactly understand it but it's fiction so I'm not expecting a reason behind everything. This book was really cute most of the time but also sometimes very bizarre. You'll understand when you start reading it. I still enjoyed it nevertheless and would read it again. I usually like Sarah Ready's books so this can be another addition.

Ghosted by Sarah Ready, the audiobook narrated by Sarah Naughton and Rob Brinkman was a phenomenal, brilliant, fantastic, and unbelievably good love story! This book was just breathtaking! I was just on chapter 3 when I was "OMG I love this book!"
This is my second book by Sarah Ready and the second time I was blown away, my heart was broken again, and an unbelievable amount of emotions rushed through me!
You know that book is good when you literally have goosebumps on your arms and legs! I am definitely adding Sarah Ready to my favorite author list!
This love story is about Jillian, a journalist who writes relationship advice articles for a newspaper at the same time she is struggling to date, not even talking about building relationships. The first man who she is comfortable talking to is dead! Daniel is a ghost that visits Jillian once she moves into her new apartment. Jillian finds him annoying at the start but Daniel is not giving up!
The chemistry between them is unbelievable. Is it possible to build yours forever after with a ghost? Can you love someone without being able to touch them?
The author managed to describe the connection in such fantastic detail at the same time so delicate that you just feel it! You literally feel the love. And the narrators did a fantastic job, they definitely made this book alive!
This is an unbelievably good love story! This is definitely a "Must read" book! What I love about this author is that books are not over-sexualized! There is just enough to feel it but not too much! It's just perfect balance!
Thank you, Netgalley and W. W. Crown for an advance copy of this book! I can't express how much I appreciate it!
Special thank you Sarah Ready for creating such a brilliant love story, looks like I am happy to return to the romance books!
#WWCrown #Ghosted #NetGalley

I loved the author and the story, This was a great story that I think would do well on BookTok! I enjoyed that the side characters were also very entertaining. Reading and listening were both enjoyable for me. I loved the narration. Although I originally thought the book was long, it didn't feel as long while reading it.
My review:
Thank you to NetGalley for the audio and ebook ARC of this book.
Ghosted was a sweet story weaving together paranormal and romantic comedy.
Jillian is a shy journalist who has struggled in the dating department. A hot ghost appears in her new apartment and wants to help her with her dating life. The story was done in a unique way. While reading, I was looking forward to finding out how it would all come together in the end!
I have never read a book by Sarah Ready before this one, but she is now one I would definitely want to read again because I enjoyed her writing and storytelling,
Overall, I found this to be one of the best rom-coms I have read this year and I would definitely recommend it!
