Another gripping read from Nita. I loved the previous book and this one didn't disappoint. I would recommend this book to friends and family

Another gem of a book from this author, with the absolutely fantastic Molly as the main character. Intrigue and confusion go hand in hand, and Molly unwittingly finds herself at the centre of another drama around a celebrity author. I loved every minute of it!

Molly the maid returns!! And what a welcomed return it is. I love Molly from the first book so glad to see her again.

Molly takes her job of restoring rooms to perfection very seriously, only the best! We delve in to the murder mystery, the latest who done it. In my opinion it wasn’t quite as good as the first book but still good. There was just something missing for me it didn’t quite grip me.

I loved that we got a glimpse into Molly’s childhood. The characters are likable. It is well written! If you like murder mysteries then this will be right up your street :)

I absolutely adored the first book but this one unfortunately fell flat. It felt too samey to the first.

While this story felt like a slower burn mystery-wise than book 1, I’d follow Molly the maid’s journey pretty much anywhere! I enjoyed the greater exploration of her character’s background in this read and I’m already looking forward to what book 3 has in store for her. I’d still recommend this series to friends, family and my book clubs, though I’d caution crime lovers that the mystery comes second to Molly’s backstory in this book - so the pace feels slower because of that. But for the Molly fans out there, that’s not much of a problem really!

Molly the maid is back in another sweet adventure. Flash backs to gran and her childhood were just so nostalgic. I loved this cozy murder mystery even more than the first one! Molly will always have my heart!

The Mystery Guest is a delightful sequel that continues the story of Molly the maid.

We follow Molly as she navigates another murder at the Regency Grand hotel - what bad luck she has to always find herself at the centre of these mysteries! Her astute problem-solving skills are once again put to good use, to the irritation of Detective Stark...

Molly still struggles with her self-awareness a bit when it comes to human interactions, but the little glimpses we catch into her childhood and how her gran handled these eccentricities only makes these traits more endearing.

The author skilfully plants little clues throughout, providing quite a few twists and ending with a satisfying conclusion.

Some personal elements to Molly's life are uncovered, and I simply loved these - here's hoping for more Molly the maid adventures soon!

We met Molly the Maid at the Regency Grand Hotel. Her order and structure kept her in the background, but very much a useful asset when events take a turn for the worse at the hotel.

Now Head Maid, a badge Molly wears with pride and determined to help newer maids reach the opportune pinnacle of what being a maid should be, we are back for another visit to the Regency Grand.

A famous mystery writer, drops dead in one of the tea rooms, whilst there to reveal something about his latest work. Molly was there, she observed so much and as soon as the police arrive they recognise Molly and think there is something definitely going on if Molly is involved.

Trouble is when a mystery writer dies, everyone wants to solve the mystery and it is going to take some skill from Molly to work this one out. Especially when it is actually perhaps a bit too close to home.

Here in the second book, we learn a bit more about Molly’s past, especially her mother and grandmother and those difficult and fractious relationships which have made Molly the person she is today. And Molly is involved with the dead mystery writer as she had met him as a child and so she needs to solve this mystery before the police get to find out about it or anyone innocent is caught up in the latest mystery.

However, just like in the first novel we don’t really know much about where the hotel is, what Molly looks like, these missing elements to the novel, strip it back to only knowing what is necessary but are they actually building the characters more/ Only time can tell, if we get further books about Molly the Maid.

Can be read as a standalone but worth reading the first novel, to get the setting and the characters right in your mind. For fans of murder mystery without the graphic and gruesome!

I very much enjoyed spending more time in Molly’s company as she finds herself caught up in yet another mysterious death at the Regency Grand Hotel. This time its a famous author who died – right before he was about to reveal to a crowded room of reporters and fans a secret he had been keeping for years…

It was so lovely to see a more confident Molly who was still very much herself at the same time. She was no nonsense but incredibly kind to a new maid she was working alongside, we got to see her friendships and her joy at doing her job well. I loved that her opinions were obviously highly valued as well, bringing us a long way from the Molly we met at the start of The Maid.

In this book we get to see more of Molly’s history as well, how she came to be raised by her beloved grandmother, her experiences at school and when she first became interested in becoming a maid.

The mystery in this book was great, I was completely wrapped up in the why of it and the who (the how was always fairly obvious but I don’t think it was supposed to be anything but).

A thoroughly enjoyable second outing for Molly and the staff of the Regency Grand Hotel.

It was good to read it. It is not as good as The Maid and I didn't expect that there will be a sequel for Molly since it doesn't need to or does it need to have sequels at all. But I still loved Molly's character though.

I really enjoyed THE MAID last year so couldn’t wait to read this sequel. This was another super quick + easy listen.. a cozy whodunnit mystery with the return of Molly, our super loveable MC, and other familiar faces from book one. Multiple timelines switch between past and present, giving us an insight into Molly’s past, her relationship with her Gran + how she become a maid, which added some depth. Whilst this can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone, I’d recommend reading THE MAID first to get a better understanding of the characters🙌🏽

It was lovely to visit with Molly the maid again and I think I enjoyed this outing even more than the first. Here, the characters are much more established leaving the reader better able to concentrate on the mystery rather than learning who's who. The murder mystery was intriguing and entertaining but what I loved most about this book were the flashbacks to Molly's childhood, for it is in Molly's memories where her grandmother resides and lives. I loved reading about Molly and her grandmother's experiences and how those past events were connected to the latest goings-on at the Regency Hotel.
The Mystery Guest is a well thought out and intriguing mystery that guarantees an entertaining read.

This is the sequel to Nita Prose's The Maid and although it was okay as a standalone book, I may have enjoyed it more had I read The Maid first.

I didn't particularly like Molly or the other characters and found it hard to connect with the plot line.. It just all felt very flat and over sentimental.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in return for an honest review.

This was a gripping read and I was intrigued by the characters. I will look out for more by this author.

I read and loved The Maid, so was delighted to get my hands on this sequel where we again get to spend some time with Molly.

This book picks up about 4 years later, with Molly now Head Maid at the Regency Grand hotel and relishing her position. Things are going great until the hotel is picked to host an even by reclusive author JD Grimthorpe - who then drops dead before he can make his special announcement.

This is a clever whodunit and fits neatly into the cosy mystery genre with plenty of intrigue and red herrings. Definitely gives Miss Marple / Agatha Christie vibes (although I think Molly is American and the story set in America?)

The story incorporates a dual timeline which was used to tell more about Molly's history and her life with her Gran as she was growing up. Turns out she also knew JD Grimthorpe and revelations from the past help to solve the author's mysterious demise in the Regency Grand tearoom.

I liked that the supporting characters were developed too, adding their own snippets as the story unfolds and helping keep the reader engaged. I feel like the ending has a setup for book three, although nothing has been confirmed as yet!

Overall a very enjoyable read, if you are into cosy mysteries then I think this would be right up your street.

I am very much an outlier with my opinion on this book, and can see why Molly amd the series have many fans! Unfortunately for me I thought the characterisation was one dimensional; I know Molly was heavily influenced by her grandmother, but she and most of the other characters read like elderly people in England when I believe the book is set in the US. The flashback sequences were a nice touch amd showed the devotion of Molly's grandmother, and it was a quick read.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and Net Galley for the eARC.

The sequel to The Maid, this book was just as good as the first. I love Molly's character and was glad we got to see more of her and even see a little bit into her past too. There were a few twists and turns along the way which added to the mystery and I enjoyed the reveal and other surprises at the end.
