Thank you to Netgally, the publishers, and Linda Mather

When I requested this book I was unaware that it was apart of a series, one that requires you to read the previous books for this one to make sense. I am unable to read all the previous books along with this one before the publish date. Therefore, I will rate this a fair 3/5 stars and will adjust the rating and review when I am able to read all the books in the series along with this one.

Thanks to Netgalley for my arc ♥️

The story centers on a house with a dark past, and when the main character buys it, secrets and lies surface. Mather masterfully creates tension and suspense, making it hard to put down.

The characters are complex, with unexpected twists and turns. The writing vividly describes the eerie atmosphere, making you feel like you’re there. The book explores dark themes like obsession and greed.

I found it a thrilling page-turner with well-written characters and surprising twists. The ending was both surprising and satisfying. The Perfect House for Murder” is a captivating thriller with an intricate plot, suspenseful storyline, and eerie atmosphere. It’s a must-read for fans of the genre.

Murder mystery
Set in a perfect place, An astrologer and a private detective combination is not the usual combination we see as a protagonist, however it was a wonderful to see the protagonist grow to become a good detective and finish her first assignment .
A wonderful cosy read for the mystery lovers. I enjoyed the book , it was a light ,quick read.

I hope in future will get to read more such cosy mystery books from Joffre book along net galley.

In The Perfect House for Murder we find another sad example of a good plot being spoiled by excessive zeal on the part of the author.
Reading the book's description, I expected to find one of those stories that won't let you put the book down, but at least in my case, that's not what I found, but the story of Josephine, a private detective slash astrologer who it reminded us ad nauseam of the virtues of a person born under the Virgo sign.
I am very sorry that this book has not met my expectations and that I cannot give it a better rating, but what can we do, Sagittarius are that frank.
I thank the author and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.
The opinion I have expressed above is based solely on what I think and feel about this book.

Jo Hughes is an astrologer and recently trained investigator on her first solo case. A dizzying array of those who wanted her dead, yet no one seemed to have noticed when she went missing for a couple of weeks. A well told story with some odd twists and peculiar red herrings. Loved it!
I requested and received an EARC from Joffe Books via NetGalley. Thank you!

Engaging Mystery..
The sixth outing in the Jo and Macy Mysteries featuring private detective and astrologer Jo Hughes finds Jo about to get her very first solo investigation - a body has been discovered in the cellar at the local public house. Everyone knows the victim and it seems that way too many people had a reason to remove them - but who is the killer and how far will they go to keep their secret? Enjoyable and engaging mystery with a deftly drawn cast of characters, a likeable protagonist in Jo and a pacy plot. A worthy addition to the series as a whole.

Jo, a recently trained investigator, agrees to help the proprietors of a bar where a body was discovered. It turns out that the neighborhood did not particularly like the local landlord, thus the discovery of her death did not come as much of a shock. The premise fascinated me instantly. The style of writing and characters were both top-notch. I highly recommend to all cozy mystery lovers!

Thank you to NetGalley and Joffe Books for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Astrology and private investigating may not seem like natural career bedfellows, but Jo Hughes is making it work! Since learning her craft in the previous novels of this series, it's time for Jo to go it alone. Jo is called upon by her friend Hanni, who has stumbled across a dead body in the cellar of a pub. Who is it? how did they get there? And who is responsible?

The Perfect House for Murder is a great example of cosy crime, with plenty of suspects, red herrings and near misses for Jo along the way. There also a whole lot going on in Jo's private life too, including a number of meet-ups with ex partner Macy, which I'm hoping will lead to the next book in the series!

This book grabbed me and pulled me in right from the beginning. This is book 6 in the series — but it can be read as a stand-alone.
The main character Jo was immediately likable and the storyline was interesting. This is a nice cozy mystery— with great plot twist— and well written to keep you wanting to know what is going to happen. I definitely didn’t see that killer coming . I enjoyed this book — it is a solid 4.5/5 . If you’re looking for a light , quick , fun mystery read . This is the book for you !

Thank-you to NetGalley and Joffe Books for the ARC , this is my honest review.

I loved this book!!! I loved our main character Jo instantly, she has her head screwed on yet seems slightly scatty too and I know how she feels, lol! I also took a liking to Hanni, Jo's friend and thought that Macy seemed an intriguing character.

The storyline had me gripped and I will admit that I thought I had figured out 'who' but not the 'why' so I had to keep reading to find out. I found the pace was great and I found that the chapters just flew by.

As we were getting to the end I was hoping that I would get to read more about Jo and then to my surprise (where have I been I know!!) that this is actually book number 6 in a series!!!! I'm thrilled and have headed to read the Jo and Macy series from the beginning now. If you were wondering if you have to read them in order then the answer is no!!

I enjoyed this book. It was listed as a physiological thriller so I was prepared for it to be more 'scary' but it was more of a cozy mystery than scary thriller. I enjoyed it very much - murder mystery, revenge, great plot twist and red herrings throughout. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

Definitely not a “gripping psychological thriller” as advertised - more like the chick lit version of mystery/thriller (as in, light and fluffy and lacking substance). I was never shocked or surprised - everything unfolded in a very predictable and formulaic way for the genre.

Good book! This book had a bit of everything! It had suspense, Action, intrigue, mystery, revenge, murder, serial killer, great who done it, great plot twist, and some crazy twists and turns! The storyline was very interesting and kept me glued to my Kindle! I definitely recommend reading this book as it was well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
