Murder On a Cornish Isle is ridiculous, 'bonkers' and yet great fun and at times very clever. However, I did find it a bit too 'try hard' at times trying to hit every comical button.
I had an audio copy from Netgalley and feel like the narrator did it justice.

I really didn’t know what to expect with this book as the front cover looks like a soppy sort of novel - I was pleasantly surprised. This book was gritty and gripped my all the way through. Loved the quirky characters and the balmy plot. Really entertaining read.
I listened to this as an audiobook and found the narrator excellent. She really worked hard to bring each character to life. Excellent!

I listened to Book 2 The Edge Of The World Detective Agency entitled Murder On a Cornish Isle by Jo Silva via audiobook and was captivated by it. Donna Nightshade runs a Detective Agency in Cornwall and after a dry spell of no work for some time she gets the opportunity to go undercover on St Michaels Mount in a large house with a group of old friends from the Iraq war who are having a reunion. However, the island becomes cut off during a storm - very atmospheric - and the murders begin! I found this a great listen - narrated by Rose Robinson, and so easy to listen to. I have not read the first book and this was no problem as I got straight into this mystery and all its twists and turns. It’s easily a stand alone book. Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Collins for a chance to review.
