My Boyfriend is a Vampire is a fantastic read. This is Helena Hunting writing as Eva Knight and she does a fantastic job with this paranormal romance. There are lots of giggles to be had as Hazy and Godric navigate college and the vampire/human connection they have. Hazy will put a smile on your face as she takes everything in. Godric is wonderful and you will love his brothers too. I love the pull between Godric and Hazy as the grow closer. You feel the bond they form as they work on getting a better understanding on the effects that occur in their human/vampire relationship. I could not get enough of Godric and Hazy. I really hope this will be a series and we get more of Godric's brothers and a peak of Hazy and Godric. I'm not ready for this to end. More please. Go one click this now.

Hazy + Godrick

We're in our last year of college in Upstate New York.
Hazy is living in a house with her two besties. And Godrick just moved into the old abandoned house in the neighborhood with his two brothers.
It's insta attraction between Hazy and Godrick.
But there's also Hazy's idiot ex Blaine. He wants her back.
And there's obviously the tiny little fact that Godrick is a Vampire.
And Blaine is a reporter for the college newspaper and he's very suspicious of things!

Adorable!

I really liked reading this.
I'm not the biggest paranormal romance fan. But if it has to be paranormal - it better be a Vampire!
This was a cute college romance. Funny, sparky, adorable, a little mysterious and exciting.
The characters were a tiny bit old for my tastes. Somewhere between 15 and 19 would've been much better. All that partying and talking about boys non-stop didn't really fit with a collegey person who wants to become a doctor very soon. The ages just felt weird to me. At least in the first half of the book.
The story was cute but it was also a bit slow. The way she finds out about Godrick was weird and a bit ridiculous and too late into the book - a book that is called My boyfriend is a Vampire! It should've been either a series, so that we'll get much more of Godrick and Hazy or a few repeating lines and scenes should've been cut to make it faster and more interesting.
For a Vampire Rom-Com there wasn't enough Vampire stuff and not enough Comedy. It has both but it could've been much more. And a bit less of the partying and Blaine drama. It feels like the book was too long at first and Helena cut too much of the good parts!
But I still liked reading it. It got better after 50%!
It was a cute college thingy and we love those!
I mean - there's not much new stuff you could invent when it comes to romances and vampires.
And I liked Godrick and Hazel and the friends and brothers are great too. There's potential for a lot more from all these people! (Especially with that ending! 😉 But don't worry - we don't get a Cliffy!)

► MY BOYFRIEND IS A VAMPIRE was a cute and funny and collegy and vampirey New Adult Love Story! I really liked it!

This was a really fun vampire read. I absolutely loved Hazy and Godric, their chemistry was off the charts from the very beginning and their lust/love went above and beyond every obstacle that came their way. This is a very light-hearted vampire read, much suited for a YA audience, as it focused more on the romance than Godric being a vampire. It was a really fun premise and I had a lot of fun with the story and the characters Eva had created.

Read if you like:
🧛‍♂️Paranormal romance,
🧛‍♂️Vampires,
🧛‍♂️College setting,
🧛‍♂️Sassy FMC.

I wanted to like that book as i love paranormal romances and vampires' vibes but this book did not hit the mark for me.
It was a bit flat and the relationship between Hazy, the main female character, and Godric, the vampire, happened too fast for my liking. I love to witness how the tension between MCs is building up - i was missing that in this book.

If you like romcoms in college settings with hot vampires, so you might enjoy this book.

I will happily read anything featuring vampires, and undead romantic comedies seem to be my new favourite genre. My Boyfriend is a Vampire is the second such book I’ve read this year (My Roommate is a Vampire is the other), and it definitely lived up to my high expectations.

I loved Hazy and God (…ric) in equal measure, along with the humour, romance and unusual vampire lore. I had a great time learning about Godric and his fanged family, which includes brothers Hunter and Laz, and how they managed to fit in with human college students.

I laughed at how self-aware this book was (Godric dresses up as a famous bookish vampire for Halloween), and swooned at how typically romantic the vampires were. Hazy was one of my favourite romcom characters I’ve met this year, and I like to think I’d be as cool as her if I met a few creatures of the night (maybe one day!).

I highly recommend My Boyfriend is a Vampire to anyone who likes paranormal romcoms, or just a good old romance with a bloody twist. I really hope there’s a sequel on the way!

4.5/5.

Perfect read for looong summer days. I love cozy rom-coms, especially when they include hot vampire as MMC.

Hazy is really funny and sweet girl, a bit sassy - exactly how I like it in FMC’s. She is handling her life the way we all wish to do in her age 😅 I loved how she stood up for herself with Blaine.

God..rick (🤣) is a three hundred years old vampire, who spent last 40+ years on Alaska, now comes back to live his normal vampirish life in college.

Their relationship is really funny at the begining, from readers side of course, their first making-out scene is a distaster and I felt sorry for Hazy later. Finally she finds out the truth but there are others adversities on the way.

I really enjoyed this book, but again, I was reading about vampire, but I did not encounter enough “vampires situations”. It did not feel that this is paranormal book, that’s what bothers me the most, however it was still really good story.

🧛 paranormal romance with vampiries
🧛 stalking
🧛 sassy FMC
🧛 college rom-com

My Boyfriend Is A Vampire
By Eva Knight

Who doesn’t love a vampire romcom, Hazy is a great fun character who knows what she wants and goes for it, I suppose the same can be said for Godric who’s personality is timeless and I loved his out of date lingo that made me laugh, it was indeed groovy!

I really enjoyed its humour, angst and creative outcomes throughout with Hazy and Godrics attraction to one another you can’t put it down… a great easy read, I finished it in one sitting!

I wish we did have more about him being an actual vampire but we can save that for hopefully a second book…fingers crossed

Definitely one to sink your teeth into this spooky season, I love reading these types of books all year round but especially in autumn

A fang-tastic read!

I was that kid in science class reading twilight so it's no surprise that i love a vampy romance. Make it a romcom and I'm sold.

Hazy was a fun and lovable character. She was the right amount of sassy and had some hilarious moments. She had self confidence we wish we all had and was sexualy confident to boot. I loved how she stood up for herself with Blaine and asked for what she wanted with Godric.

For someone who had lived in Alaska for forty plus years, and decided to take a humanity sebattical, godric really blended in well with the college scene. I loved the subtle nods to his time in different decades (he use of the word groovy for one) but I would have loved there to be more. More of certain things going over his head or him not understanding the college lingo. I mean he's an almost 300 Yr old vamp, your telling me he understands the modern age aswell as the rest of the college kids? I'm a millennial and I struggle.

Also considering this was a vampire romcom we didn't really see much of Godric being a vampire. There was a lot of talk surrounding the topic and the logistics of being a vamp, but as far as Godric doing vampy things it was a bit scarce for my liking.

Now the conflict. I wanted there to be more of a showdown between the brothers and Blaine. It was built up to be this thing that Blaine was about to catch them out and then we saw his little stalker cave and then it shot to Laz telling us how he handled it. It was a bit anti climatic.

Overall I enjoyed the book, You could easily read this in one sitting. If your looking for an easy vampy read to sink your teeth into for the start of autumn then this is a great opener.

Did Not Finish

I usually adore Helena Hunting's books, and rarely rate lower than 4 stars. So it saddens me that I have had to DNF this book. For some reason the writing is just so bad. It seems so dumbed down compared to Helena's usual writing. I'm honestly gutted as I was so looking forward to it.

"My Boyfriend is a Vampire" by Eva Knight is a captivating and fun twist on the classic vampire romance. Hazy Florence's journey from top student to dating a vampire is filled with humour, mystery, and romance. The story keeps you engaged with its charming characters and intriguing plot. Knight weaves a delightful tale of young love with a supernatural twist, making it a perfect read for fans of paranormal romance and college drama.

Eva Knight said forget your usual college rom com and let’s add a little vampire spice!

Hazy is fed up with her once a year hook-up with the annoying ex and newspaper editor and falls for the boy across the road. However, she can’t help feeling like he and his family have something to hide.

A fun romcom with some bite!

Thanks NetGalley and Michael Joseph for the ARC.

A campus romance between two students, but one is a vampire. This was too open door for me, and I gave up a few times, but I was curious about the ending. After I skimmed to the end, I felt it didn't wrap up neatly either.

A fresh take on human discovering her boyfriend is a vampire!
Godric is swoon-worthy and I felt he managed the 'big reveal' well! He could have covered it up but he owned it and stood his ground.
Really hoping there's a spin off for the brothers, especially Laz!

This seemed like the perfect fun paranormal romance read and although I enjoyed it, it seemed to lack a solid plot for me and I wasn’t totally feeling the romance. The ending was also left more open than I’d like to see in a book, unless it’s getting a sequel, which I don’t feel this one will (or needs to) have. The premise was really intriguing and I wanted to love it but unfortunately, I wanted to have more of a storyline than Blaine stalking them all and God and Hazy experiencing the slowest of slow burns that suddenly then turned into 90% spice. I don’t mind a bit of spice but I don’t want to sacrifice a plot or a connection between the characters to get it and it felt a little bit like the balance in this book was off so I’d say it wasn’t really for me but I’m sure other paranormal romance fans will enjoy it.

I received a free copy of this book. All views are my own.

When Godric and his brothers move cities, he quickly bumps into university student Hazy and sparks fly. But Godric has a secret, he's a vampire. What will Hazy think when she finds out the truth?

This was such a unique book to read! There was a great group of characters, sprinkles of magic and plenty of romance. It is fun, quirky, and so entertaining to read how Hazy and Godric manage their human/vampire relationship. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a romance with a twist.

Cute/hot vampire rom-com....

...guaranteed to make you smile and giggle, with loveable characters and delicious spicy scenes. It definitely scratched my easy romance itch and left me wanting more! Eva Knight really knows how to write a heart throb love interest (Oh my God...ric).

Although I enjoyed this book, I really felt like it was gearing up to something more climactic and was a little disappointed with the ending. Although it is left on a sweet and hopeful note, it felt quite rushed and like a missed opportunity for more to come to blows.

That said, I would definitely read a sequel to this book and find out where Hazy and God end up!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sharing an ARC of this book with me.

Fun little romcom about a female human MC and Vampire MMC. The beginning of the book reminded me of Twilight plot quite heavily but with more adult content and comedy. Definitely would recommend :).

My Boyfriend is a Vampire follows Hazy (short for Hazel) as she encounters a new family in her street. There are three brothers living in what used to be considered a haunted house, which is now a beautiful house, and Hazy finds herself fascinated by Godric, who happens to be in one of her classes this semester. As their relationship progresses, Hazy finds out that Godric and his brothers are vampires, and she has to work out how she feels about this and how it will affect her relationship with Godric, while her annoying ex Blaine is snooping around, convinced the brothers are hiding something. I really enjoyed this book, as it was interesting to see how vampirism was portrayed and initially disguised as a rare blood disorder, and I loved seeing Hazy and Godric grow closer. I also loved seeing Hazy’s friendships with Godric’s brothers develop, and particularly loved Laz as a character because I thought his unique heritage was a really interesting touch. I loved Hazy’s friends/housemates too, as they supported her throughout the story and were always there for her. I would definitely recommend this to anyone interested in a fun romance novel about vampires living amongst humans!

This book was so unique based off of vampires but also being different in the vampire trope with all the science and magic. I will definitely be recommending this book to others!
