I really enjoyed this romantic tale of the one that got away. Nico and Olivia were such loveable characters that were perfect for each other. When Olivia is thrown in at the deep end, trying to plan a wedding in three weeks for her best friend and his frosty bride to be, I was immediately invested in the story. Italy is another character in the book that was decribed so well I felt like I could see and smell everything French describes, I could almost taste the food and swwet treats. This was a really enjoyable escape to Italy and I was pleased to see familar characters from the other chateau novels, though I think youd be able to read them as stand alone books. I love French's style of writing and found myself smiling and laughing at Olivia's antics, she really was a selfless friend and I was so pleased with the conclusion.

I usually know within the first couple of chapters how much I’m going to enjoy a book but I knew within the first 2 pages that this was one I was going to struggle to put down. There are not enough words for how much I enjoyed this book. It was entertaining, clever and the narrative was stunningly intelligent. I couldn’t put it down I was captivated.

Friends since childhood, Olivia and Nico were inseparable, until the time came for university and Nico went back to Florence to study. Although the spark was always there, neither dared to take things further . Now, divorced with a teenage son, Olivia is invited to Tuscany for a holiday with Nico before his wedding to Sophia.
As Olivia’s feelings for Nico intensify, she has to keep their friendship intact and cannot reveal her feelings for him nor her realisation that his wedding to Sophia is a mistake.
The tension increased as the story unfolded; will they remain friends or will Sophia drive them apart?
I enjoyed the tension and the strangeness of Sophia’s family. It was a good ensemble of characters with Nico’s family gregarious and welcoming to Sophia’s cold and challenging.
A lovely read to sit and relax within

While I generally enjoy these types of books I found this book to be a bit of a bore. It felt like the story was dragged out and painful to read with the fiancé's nasty family randomly popping in and doing mean things to Olivia to humiliate her. While her oldest friend ever Nico just looks the other way without standing up for her. It made him seem like a push over when he could have stood up to them earlier rather than waiting until one of the last chapters. I did enjoy the last few chapters and wished the whole book had been like them.

Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the copy of the ARC.

I really enjoyed this lovely easy to read book. The characters are lovely and the story was well written. The story of friendship, love and not to be, will they ever be able to rekindle their love ? I just love tucking into an Annabel French book.
My thanks as always to NetGalley and to Avon Books for the pre read.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

Olivia and Nico have known each other since they were at school. They were best friends, with dreams of their future.

But, things changed and they went in different directions.

Nico, now living in Italy, invites Olivia to his wedding to Sofia, who he’s only known for six months.

Olivia goes to attend the wedding, but, after her arrival, and meeting Nico, Sofia and their families, they receive news that they can’t hold the wedding at their chosen venue as it’s been allocated to someone else.

As Sofia isn’t happy that the wedding won’t happen where she wants it to, Olivia informs her that she will help in looking for another venue, as she has experience in planning events,

Sofia’s family aren’t that pleased, so it won’t be that straightforward, along with her feelings for Nico, will make her plan this wedding harder.

I loved the setting, the characters, and the delicious food made by mouth water.

I highly recommend this book.

All the feels! I had tears. I laughed and I loved. A Wedding at the Chateau brings you to Italy. The way Annabel French writes about the country makes you feel like you’re there at the moment you’re reading the book. I have read it in one day and with all the feels I should give it 5 stars, but because the ending goes so fast I have a feeling I’m missing a lot I gave it 4 (4,5) stars.
The story is predicted with a lot of build up romance, so anyone who is into friends-to-lovers should read this.
The best thing about Netgalley is learning other authors. Due to the book I’m putting Annabel French to my want-to-read author.

Olivia and Nico have been best friends forever. On their last holiday, Nico tells Olivia that he wants to live in Italy to be close to where his mum and dad met. Olivia is heartbroken, but still, they maintain their friendship.
Olivia receives a call from Nico to tell her he is getting married and he wants her at the wedding.
Disaster strikes when their venue cancels in favour of a footballer. Cue Olivia being asked to arrange a new venue and everything else that a wedding entails.
Well, Sofia certainly lived up to the term Bridezilla. Honestly, she was just awful. Her mother was even worse! If I were Olivia, I would have told her to sort her own wedding. I couldn't see what Nico saw in her.
The setting sounded amazing. Blue skies, warm sunshine.
It's a lovely heartwarming read with love in the air.

Nico and Olivia have been best best friends since childhood. After Nico invited Olivia to his wedding she wonders how she will hide her love for him as he goes about marrying social media star Sophia. After the wedding of their dreams is cancelled Olivia sets about organising a dream day for her best friend. She hopes she can keep her emotions under wraps.
This is a great book for summer holidays and sunny days. Once I started it I couldn’t put it down.

What a lovely book!
Olivia's close friend Nico is getting married & she's invited to stay in Italy leading up to the wedding. They have been friends since school & have always been close. It's a whirlwind wedding after he met Sofia six months before they set a date for the wedding.
When Olivia arrives, the venue for the wedding is cancelled & given to an Italian footballer instead. Olivia steps in & offers to step in as wedding planner. Sofia's family are unwelcoming, so the job is not easy & her feelings for Nico make the process more difficult.
Great characters! I loved Olivia, a great friend, mum & all round good person.
Recommended read!

A trope-y but sweet (and at times unexpected) second chance story about Olivia and Nico. Nico is about to marry the awful Sophia and he's invited Olivia and her son Jacob to join them. These two friends have been apart for years due to miscommunication but now they realize that there's more to their relationship now that they're, ahem. adults. There's some fun spots, some serious spots, and some snark from and at Sophia and her family. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A fun read.

Olivia and Nico have been best friends for years, but their friendship has never developed into romance. However, years later, when Nico decides to marry Sophia, Olivia is invited to the wedding.

Set in beautiful Tuscany, Olivia wishes Nico was marrying her rather than the arrogant, spiteful Sophia. While Oliva and Nico are warm, friendly characters, Olivia and her family are cold and disdainful, making Olivia’s stay difficult. Due to their wedding venue being cancelled at the last minute, Olivia is called in to help the marriage go ahead.

I enjoyed reading this lighthearted, amusing story, and the interplay between characters. The Italian countryside and scenery is described so beautifully, you wish you were there. Character driven, this is a heartwarming story about two people who were made for each other, but due to circumstances, their friendship failed to turn into romance.

An enjoyable lighthearted, amusing story, not to be taken too seriously.

A wonderful story about two people who had been friends from a young age and how they would develop how years go on. Brilliant characters along with humorous moments kept me turning the pages from start to finish. A great read.

This is the third book in the Chateau series and it was the best by far. I could not put the book down.
It’s all about childhood friends Olivia and Nico meeting up for Nico’s wedding to a total bridezilla.
The setting was stunning and I could just imagine reading this on story lying on a sun lounger as it’s a perfect beach read.
I loved most of the characters such as Nico’s Dad and brothers but some not so much (no spoilers)
I’m hoping for a sequel hopefully in Greece.
A fantastic 5 star romantic read

A story of long time best friends who had a brief moment that they could have admitted it was becoming more than friendship, but didn't take it. They remain friends as the years pass and are thrown back together as Nico anniunces he is getting married and Olive goes to spend time with him only to end up as the wedding planner. I enjoyed this predictably but sweet story.

During their gap year travelling, besties, Nico and Olivia drunkenly agree that if they are both still single at forty, they’ll marry each other.

What they didn’t know that night in Thailand is that fate has something else planned for them…both!

At the last minute, Nico decides to change his plans and heads to Florence for university instead of Oxford. Olivia, perturbed at not being made part of his decision and for finding out at the last minute, heads off to university in Reading. She’s never had to be apart from Nico, so she anticipates her first year of uni to be stressful.

Sophie’s well-planned-out life takes a detour when she gets pregnant her first year at uni and decides, at the last minute, to marry the baby’s father. Her marriage doesn’t go according to plan either and it breaks up five years later leaving her as a single mom to raise Jacob. When she feels like she’s got her life back on track, she receives a call from Nico - he wants her to come to Italy for his wedding.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story about second chances, the gift of friendship, the benefits of making room for life’s experiences in our journey and the joy that we can experience when we learn to take the focus off ourselves and put it on others. Most of all, I appreciated the warning about listening to our inner voice and the encouragement about speaking up for what we want out of life.

Don’t miss out on what I believe is French’s best book yet!

I was gifted this copy by Avon Books UK and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.

I really loved this book. It was so good that I read it in a day. Olivia and Nico have been friends since a very early age. On a trip to Italy before they started college they promised each other had they not married before they were forty , they would get married. Olivia did not finish college as she got pregnant and married a very immature Jack . Jacob was Nico's godson and he took pride in that and helped Olivia and Jacob out. Olivia at present was working as an event planner when she received an invitation to Nico's wedding in Italy. She goes 2 weeks early to relax and spend some time with her best friend. All I can say is not any of Nico's family or friends cared for his fiancee' Sophie or her family. Thus the journey begins. WoW!! This was so sio good.

A lovely read filled with sarcasm, hideous jokes and bittersweet moments. The opening sets the tone for the rest of the book and the will they, won’t they relationship between Olivia and Nico. The bitter bride is suitably bitter and cruel, her parents just hideous. Nico has a lovely family in total juxtaposition and this makes him all the softer and attractive, the wedding planning is fun, messy and full of tender moments. The ending is expected but not obvious and a few surprises are kept in store.

Olivia is finally starting to get somewhere with her career and her thirteen year old son is happy and thriving when she gets a call from her best friend in the world Nico. He drops a giant bombshell on her, he is getting married and he wants her and Jacob to fly to Italy to join him.

Olivia not only realises she never got over loving him she also ends up planning his wedding!

Full of laughter, tears and heartache. This book will break your heart more than once before it’s mended. I loved all the hearty characters. Even the icy parents of the bride will give you a little chuckle. A perfect summer romance. I loved this story!
