Mark W Shako's "Jane Doe" takes readers on a chilling ride through the mysterious town of Northwoods, where secrets are as thick as the fog that shrouds its eerie landscape. From the very first page, Shako grabs your attention with a warning – whatever you do, don't go out in the fog. And as the story unfolds, that warning becomes increasingly ominous.

Shako excels in building an atmosphere of suspense and unease. The town of Northwoods becomes a character in itself, with its strange secrets and an undercurrent of danger. The author's vivid descriptions create a setting that is both intriguing and foreboding, leaving readers on the edge of their seats.

"Jane Doe" is a compelling mystery thriller that combines a gripping plot with a well-crafted atmosphere. Mark W Shako keeps readers engaged with a narrative that is both haunting and heart-pounding. If you enjoy stories that make you question what lies beneath the surface of seemingly ordinary places, "Jane Doe" is a must-read. But heed the warning – when the fog descends, be prepared for a journey into the unknown.

This book had me hooked so quickly. The twists and turns within the book gave me multiple conclusions building in my head but the author tricked me until the very end!
Marc W Shako is a very creative writer who told multiple different stories at once in one book! Don't read this book with distractions going on or you will get lost.
The characters have an engaging and gut wrenching story that continues to confuse you and send you on an emotional rollercoaster.

I don't think I have read a book like this one ever and I think this would be a great book for people who read psychological thrillers and mystery books.

Trigger warning: as the name of the book suggests this book deals with death.

DO NOT GO INTO THE FOG!!! But of course Janice and Steve go into the fig and what unfolds is a creepy atmospheric murder mystery horror story. Small town conspiracies abound and the longer they stay the more the story gets weird.

I dug it. It was a well written fast paced thrill ride that kept me on the edge of my seat. Highly recommend

Marc W Shako's writing is on point – it's like he's dragging you into the story, and you can't escape even if you wanted to. The mystery and horror blend so smoothly, it's like peanut butter and jelly. And that twist at the end? Mind-blowing! If you're into heart-pounding mysteries that'll make you check under your bed at night, Jane Doe is the real deal. Just make sure to keep the lights on while you read – you'll thank me later!

I love the concept of the book. It had a lot of potential as far as the plot. The characters of James and Harold made a great addition and were the ones I found myself routing for. The story does seem to take on a bit too much though and become confusing. It also seemed contradictory at times and some of the events/people did not seem as connected to the story as I would have liked.

Jane Doe by Marc W Shako.
WHATEVER YOU DO, DON’T GO OUT IN THE FOG…
Janice Briggs is heading for a job interview she’ll never reach.
Forced off the road by a rapidly encroaching fog, Janice and her husband Steve make a stop in the infamous Northwoods - a small town with a bizarre reputation. Their unscheduled visit coincides with the discovery of the body of an unknown woman and unfortunately for Janice and Steve, they’ve stepped right in the middle of a conspiracy.
I really enjoyed this book. A little slow to begin with but I soon got into it. I liked Janice and Steve and Harold. Wasn't sure about the ending. 4*.
