Thank you for my eARC of this book. As a book and F1 fan I am loving the increase in F1 romances at the moment, this was an easy read but I felt it needed more to the story and more working out. It wasn’t a stand out for me unfortunately.

A great romance book, I really enjoyed the motorsports romance and loved the romance tropes and found myself rooting for the couple! Thank you net galley for the review copy!

I gave 4 stars as for me it started slow but I didn't give up and from about chapter 3 the story really came to life and I was absorbed. Great love story that has you rooting for the couple from the start.

Unfortunately this book wasn’t for me and I DNF it at around 25%. I have been coming back to the book multiple times to try and get into it but haven’t been able to.

A motor sports romance between the social media influencer and the star race car driver who hates social media.

I’m not a huge f1 fan but liked the concept of the book and was excited to give it a try. However, i found that the pacing of the book didn’t feel right and was a bit confused at times with the dual POV and third person perspective.

Rated 1 star because of the dnf

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for on arc of this book.

One thing I dislike in romance books is the insta-love trope, and sadly I've been finding it in more and more, Bloodstream included. it definitely put me off this story but i would gladly look out for any more work by this authors (so long as there isn't a fast burn).

Rating: 3 stars!

I really liked the characters in this book and I especially loved the side characters. Lucie was so funny!

The found family element was so cute, plus a little bit of a plot twist to keep things interesting.

The only reason I didn't rate higher was just because everything seemed to be a bit rushed. But, if there is to be a 2nd book (Lucie and Brett PLEASE!!) I'd definitely read it.

The tension? The banter? The CHEMISTRY? Just wow! This book was so good from start to finish. I really enjoyed reading about Faith and her passion for racing and being part of the team means spending time with them especially Julien. He knows he needs to stay away but something keeps pulling him towards her.

I just love love love this book so much!

2.5⭐️

I really wanted to love this book as a fan of motorsport. Unfortunately it just wasn’t for me as I didn’t get on with the writing style :(

I’d definitely be willing to give Emilee another go in the future with a few changes!

Thank you for the arc!❤️

This was a really fun read with a lovely premise, sweet characters and the good girl/bad boy trope. I would recommend especially if you are a fan of racing.

I have been slowly getting into f1 due to my friend being an influence in real life so I was very much excited to give this book a read.

Loved the romance and the smut was top tier. I will definitely be looking forward to this author’s future releases. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me this arc in exchange for my honest review.

Really enjoyed this romance and the valence of racing and romance. I was looking for more romances set in F1 after finishing Lauren Asher’s series and this book lived up to the high expectations and was a really fun read. I highly recommend.

Thanks to NetGalley UK and Michael Joseph for sending me this advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Oh, well. I hate disliking books that I was so excited to like. I'm not a fan of motorsport, but I was very excited to read this book based on the synopsis and the exquisite cover.
The book starts with a solid story, I liked Faith's background story and career, and I enjoyed her work chores. But unfortunately, that was about it that I enjoyed.

I thought the writing was weak and amateur. I really wanted to DNF this book, but felt bad as it was an ARC. I understand that this is a debut novel, but I expected that an editing process would help the dialogues sound natural, the relationship to grow consistently, and the story to follow a nice pace instead of a series of highs and lows. I enjoyed reading more about Faith's friendship with Lucie and about her job than the romance, which, to me, had no chemistry. I'm not a big fan of insta-love, as well, and I thought it would be a grumpy/sunshine based on their first encounter in the book. Overall, the story was not bad, and there was a lot of potential to be a good one, but the writing was too telenovela for my taste.

This was such a mixed bag for me - on the one hand I loved the premise of a romance centred around the racing world, and the whole bad boy falls for the nice girl trope, but on the other hand I didn't love the writing style and I found the whole back-and-forth between Faith and Julien (mostly from Julien) to be a bit too much, and I found it frustrating more than anything towards the end. The writing felt quite rudimentary to me at times, and while I don't expect the romances I read to be full of lyrical prose, I do think that there are some very strong romance writers who execute a great balance between entertaining and exciting love stories and genuinely good writing to tell those tales, and Bloodstream just didn't have that for me. I also felt a bit put-off by the fact that Carter wrote some scenes which attempted to show a deeper side to the story, but used Julien as the instigator of opinions and actions, rather than Faith.

I am such a fan of Formula 1 romance and I feel like there are not enough.

I loved to see the concept of making your career based on your love.

The male character was super grumpy but with her loveeeee

I desperately wanted to give up on this book but kept hoping it would get better.

The plot is standard enough but yo-you so much between on again off again and whether Julian is grumpy or happy.
The big secret is ridiculous to be kept from Faith and completely pointless.
In general the whole cast of characters were immature and the writing style wasn’t polished enough to ignore the niggles and so the book became more of a chore than a fun read

I received this book as ARC and provide my honest review

2.25/5 stars! This book is bland soup. You know when you're sick and all you want is a big bowl of chicken noodle goodness, with thick chunks of chicken and spices with that overpowering aroma of yumminess!?! And then your delivery of Campell's chicken noodle spice-less nothing arrives ... that is how it felt reading this book. It's ok. It will work in a sinch, but there's nothing that sets it apart and makes it special.

I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review

2⭑

- grumpy x sunshine
- workplace romance
- motorsport romance
- third person
- dual POV

Bloodstream is about Faith, a motorsport social media influencer who is hired by one of the biggest racing teams to help manage their own social media accounts. There she meets grumpy driver, Julian, who appears a bit distant to begin with but as it’s Faith’s job to capture behind the scenes moments of Julian and the other drivers, she slowly starts to get to know him better.

Let’s start with what I did like about this book:

I really enjoyed the motorsport aspect of the story and was a fan of the social media storyline given that I too, tend to stalk motoracing Instagram and tiktok accounts.

I really loved the found family that the drivers and some of the staff have together. There were some lovely group scenes where you can tell that they all love and respect each other and it created a wonderful friend group.

On to what I didn’t enjoy about the book:

I wasn’t a huge fan of the way this book was written in terms of when the author changed the characters POV - it would literally go from Faith’s POV straight into Julian’s in the next paragraph with no clear chapter break indicating a change in point of view. It started to get a bit confusing because the book is also written in third person (which I don’t mind) but that meant you started reading a sentence and didn’t know straight away that it was in a different person’s perspective.

I also didn’t like that there was instant lust from day one. I prefer a slowwww build up but the two main characters were acknowledging in their inner monologues how much they like each other after only knowing each other for a few days.

I do tend to be quite picky when it comes to the speed of relationship developments in romance books so my dislike about this part, is very much a me thing.

Lastly, the mmc has a bit of a secret that doesn’t get shared until closer to the end and I just thought the secret was kinda random and plucked out of thin air. There were never any small hints while in his POV and I think there were plenty of times that there could have been some small foreshadow moments to make the secret seem more believable to the reader once it’s revealed.

Thank you NetGalley and Michael Joseph Penguin for sending me an early copy in exchange for my honest review.
