Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this eARC of 'Bloodstream' by Emilee Carter.

The characters in this story were great, don't get me wrong. But I felt the actual romance didn't make any sense and sometimes it felt too rushed but also unnatural at the same time. The disagreement which happens in practically every romance kinda was resolved quickly and could have been avoided if the characters just spoke to eachother. The writing was great but again, the romance aspect was faulty.

First off, although I don't know much about the racing world, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't take one phone call for a social media vlogger to get a manager position with no other applications. It felt so rushed, like the main character was thrown straight into the job. As this is a romance book, I expect a build-up. There was no tension, no character developments. Both the romance and sex scenes were rushed, and a lot of the dialogue didn't feel natural. Plus these characters are supposed to be around their 20's-30's and it felt like they were acting and talking as though they were 17.

I'd recommend this for people who are just getting into reading or like fast-paced books.

I just didn’t really enjoy this book like I’d hoped. I’m not up for spreading negativity though so that’s all I say and I do still thing you should read it and form your own opinion :)

This book is a captivating journey through the depths of imagination. Its rich storytelling and well-developed characters kept me engaged from start to finish. With its thought-provoking themes, it transcends genres and offers something for every reader. A must-read for anyone seeking a literary adventure.

I was intrigued by this book especially after reading the blurb and it being set around the F1 and the main female MC being an influencer. I will say that the book has so much promise but for me it fell short on something and I am not quite sure what it was.

The characters were likeable but again there was something missing and I am all for the chemistry not only between the main characters but the side ones as well. I wouldn't say it's a bad book but I feel that it missed its mark slightly for me. We did have one of my favourite tropes though which was grumpy sunshine, however I felt that the male MC was a bit to whiplashy with his emotions but I get what the author was trying to get across.

I wold encourage everyone to read this, and it will definitely appeal to those that love a RomCom set in the F1 world.

A mad journey into car racing and the travel that the whole wider teams go on. Some beautiful romance and emotions alongside the more disposable relationships that happen as people love and work and sleep alongside each other for weeks. Julien and Faith are a lovely couple and their bumps and bruises are sensitively told. A great read.

Oh man, how I wanted to like this book! Almost DNfed early on, but pushed through as it's very hyped everywhere and I thought maybe I was missing out on something, but nope.

First of all, I know all these romances we read and love are unrealistic because that's more or less the point of reading a piece of fiction, to just go with the flow for a bit. However, there's a difference between unrealistic and almost-out-of-a-fantasy plot: Faith is a woman passionate about motorsports, who has this amazing channel where she makes cool edits and posts her videos. Your contemporary vlogger - she even has merchandise and doing this for over 4 years, she's got a bit of a following and success. So out of the blue, no application needed, she's offered a job as a social media manager for one of the biggest racing teams, as they want to ramp up their social presence and post more candid, genuine content about the drivers off track. Like come on, racing is one of the most difficult industries to get into and you mean to tell me that the top level boss has been following this vlogger's activity and gets her on board just like that. Sure. Also, I'm pretty sure posting content of a breakfast with a driver being all lovey dovey is something not very professional, but whatever.

Then, we've got the characters - they're all in the late 20s - early 30s and the way they interact and talk is pure childish. I can't even describe it better, but think of some 17-18 year olds and you get the characters in this book.

There's little to no character development, although there's a suggestion that they 'change' and 'test their limits', but you can hardly call it that.

The ending is super rushed and it's all like 'done' in the last 8-10 pages.

Overall, is a very frustrating reading that makes me think that the book was written super quickly, there was no proper outline followed or any research or an editor to advise some changes. This is a book for girlies who think getting into racing is a piece of cake and a book written for fun.

Now I'm sad.

*** thanks Netgalley for the copy!

I fell in love with sports romance with hockey and wanted to branch out in other sports and and this one stood out! I loved the podcast element and the love of the sport shown in the story and the chemistry was sizzling in this! Wish I could have stayed in this world more!

"Bloodstream" by Emilee Carter offers readers a tantalizing glimpse into the high-octane world of motorsports and the sizzling romance that ignites between the social media manager, Faith Jensen, and the enigmatic World Champion, Julien Moretz.

The book promises a thrilling blend of romance and sports drama, with the tension between the desire for privacy and the allure of fame serving as a central conflict. Faith's role as the social media manager tasked with putting her team's drivers in the spotlight sets the stage for an intriguing exploration of the intersection between personal lives and public personas, particularly in the age of social media.

The undeniable chemistry between Faith and Julien adds depth to the story, and readers can expect a passionate and emotional journey as the two navigate their attraction while grappling with the consequences it might bring.
