Really enjoyed this read and could totally resonate with the main character Lou! Reaching the milestone of your 50th birthday is huge but when you feel invisible, taken for granted and put upon it is somewhat marred but then to have your mother make a huge revelation that throws into question your whole childhood it’s enough to trigger a spontaneous out of character adventure!
Lou and her sister Toni head off to find some answers and in doing so, find themselves, rekindle their sisterly bond, and try to make sense of all that has gone before!
Returning from their adventure they are both stronger, happier women!
Thank you NetGalley for this early read

I love Cathy Kelly books, and Sisterhood was just pure joy to read. This book is about strong women having each other's back, and navigating life when things unravel.

Lou is approaching fifty, and she is lonely. Not alone, but feeling invisible. Her birthday party brings long held secrets to the surface and is the catalyst to Lou saying goodbye to the people pleaser she's always been.

Along with her sister Toni and a young woman, Trinity, Lou heads to Sicily and oh how I longed to be there with them. The trip is literally life-changing for them all.

Perhaps my favourite part of this book is Aunt Gloria. What a woman. Dignified, kind and utterly selfless, I think we all need a Gloria in our lives.

I haven’t read a book by this author for a while so this one was a delight to read. The author has created a story about the relationship of sisters and how sometimes that bond isn’t as strong as it can be and has also discussed lots of relatable issues in a very sensitive way bringing them out into the open.

This book was heartwarming to read as the story and characters stories unravel and the secrets of the past come out into the open and the past intertwines with the hear and now.

This is an emotional read about family dynamics and relationships.

Admittedly it has been a little while since I picked up a Cath Kelly book, and the second I started reading this I have no idea why. I was instantly comforted by the familiar writing style that Cathy is known for. A story of love, betrayal and complex relationships with family - it’ll take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions from start to finish. Some sensitive topics, tackled considerately. A truly enjoyable read!

A beautiful family drama involving two sisters and one secret which comes to the surface at a 50th birthday party of one of the sisters (Lou). The story is beautifully written as we follow the two sisters Lou and Toni as they both support one another to get to the bottom of this dreadful secret..I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book as it follows them on a life changing journey to Sicily and it also covers the complicated relationship between mother, daughter and sister.

The sisters supporting each other was a pleasure to see. Such warmth in the story that it melted butter. Cathy Kelly is a talented author and one of my favorite.

I didn't overly enjoy this book as I felt as though it was a bit typical and I could predict what was going to happen. Probably would steer away from this genre and author in the future!

Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.

Lou is celebrating her 50th birthday with a party. However the night before both her and her sister Tori are dealt with emotional bombs. Lou avoids confrontation and is a people pleaser, Tori is the complete opposite. How will they both cope with the journey they are about to start and what will they discover about themselves?

Cathy Kelly can always be relied upon to write a great book! This was a slow burn for her, the first half was a bit flat however once we get to Lou’s birthday party the story starts to pick up and I was engrossed! I loved the exploration of the sisters relationship with each other, their relationship with their mother and also the lovely Aunt Gloria.

I resonate with Lou and found this book quite cathartic, there are some sensitive subjects covered which Cathy Kelly does really well.

Great lighthearted read, with some small twists, writing style occasionally felt immature but overall enjoyable

This was my first time reading a book from the author but I am delighted to say I thoroughly enjoyed the story and I look forward to reading more books from the writer in the future

"Sisterhood" is a novel about Lou, Toni, and their self-centred mother. All three are experiencing significant changes in their lives.

As expected from Cathy Kelly's writing style, this book is well written, with relatable protagonists and depth in the plot. The discovery of family secrets and the development of characters make for an intriguing and entertaining read. The storyline includes emotional moments and impressive, vivid settings, especially the scenes set in Italy, which contribute to making this a highly engaging story.

Although I have enjoyed some of this author's previous books slightly more, this is still highly recommended in any format.
