Every Paige Toon book should come with free tissues, comfort chocolate and a big hug and this one should come with double doses of each! What an emotional roller coaster, from start to end this had me gripped. Stunning!

Oooh this is an epic love story told over the course of seven summers of Liv’s life - prepare to fall in love and have your heart broken multiple times as you join her on her gorgeous journey!

Now I’m not sure if this was because I started reading this at the same time as watching the new Netflix adaptation of One Day…. But I found the set up of this story quite reminiscent of One Day, in the sense that we stay in and around the same day of summer but bounce around the years. It had a similar vibe with many things staying the same and some things having moved on without us. Another similarity being the epic love stories!

In Seven Summers, we start on summer #7 where Liv is working at a beachside cafe/bar for the summer and first meets Tom. We then go back to the first summer where Finn has returned to St Agnes and is playing with his band at the bar on the night that Liv first starts working there. And so begins their ‘will-they-won’t-they’ love story.

Forever bonded by a tragedy that befalls Liv that first summer, and the power of their feelings for each other, Liv and Finn can’t quite move on from each other, even though they’re forced to part for most of the year when Finn moves back to LA. They promise to come back together if they’re still single.

As the years go by, and we move closer to the seventh summer, things change and some things stay the same, but their feelings only grow stronger. The story of Liv and Finn’s love is so beautifully and powerfully told, it is impossible not to fall in love with them ourselves and to just wish there was a way for them!

I enjoyed the characters so much - Liv, Tom and Finn - they were all very real and full of flaws and loveliness in equal amounts. And the Cornwall setting was dreamy and brought to life so beautifully that I want to go there immediately.

My only reason for losing the 5th star was the epilogue section - after such a lovely pace to the main part of the novel, things suddenly felt very rushed and hectic as we raced through multiple years into the future. Whilst on one hand it was lovely to wrap absolutely everything up and not be left imagining What If..?, it almost left me with a headache from being spun about so fast! And some of what was glossed over felt as important as some of the earlier parts that were fully explored. But it was overall very satisfying!

You always know you are in for a gentle emotional rollercoaster with a Paige Toon novel and this is no exception.
When Liv moves home to Cornwall for the summer after university she never expected to meet, and fall in love with, Finn, a musician who now resides in America, also back for the summer. Finn and Liv make a promise to spend each summer together if they are both single. Flash forward to This Summer and Liv meets Tom and for the first summer in seven years she finds herself not single when Finn returns. What will Liv do?
Absolutely beautiful, so cleverly written with the present story and the flashbacks to the seven summers before. I found my heart breaking for Liv many times and wanted to scream at her what to do! Definitely one to read.
Thank you to NetGalley, Paige Toon and Random House UK for this ARC in return for an honest review.

Aww, I enjoyed reading this book. I recommended it to my mum. Thank you to the writer, publisher, and NetGalley for allowing me to read it.

What an absolutely lovely, heartwarming book. I've read other Paige Toon books but they aren't my usual 'go to' genre so I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy this as much as I did. The characters were easily liked and all well written, not just the main characters which is often the case. I especially loved Michael's determined independence. Also, using a significant point in the story and working backwards and forwards from that point to mark the chapters really worked for me. I really wasn't expecting the twist at the end so well done Paige. You got me! A brilliant light hearted book I'm happy to recommend. Enjoy!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advance copy. All opinions are my own.

I loved this so much!
Seven Summers is the perfect summer read.
You can’t help but fall in love with Liv and Finn, the “twist” felt right as did the ending.
5 stars.

I knew from reading “Only Love Can Hurt Like this” that Paige Toon knows how to rip out my heart. And Seven Summers (or more like 21 summers) later she’s done it again! Picture me crying while I write this review for this well deserved 4.5 star read.

The story of Liv is heartbreaking from the beginning. She deals with loss, grief, lovesickness and a huge amount of responsibilities from the start. I found her to be one of the most relatable characters I’ve encountered in a while! I was immediately rooting for her and just wanted her to be happy! Enter Finn and Tom!

Do I usually enjoy love triangles? Absolutely not! Did I enjoy this one? Kinda. I’m not gonna lie, I am an outspoken member of team Tom! I enjoyed his chapters far more and connected to him on a much deeper level! Finn kept staying a mystery to me and I was sometimes wishing his chapters would end and we could go back to my boy Tom. Saying that, I still enjoyed following Liv’s journey and growth whilst she was maneuvering her relationship with Finn and appreciated everything that led to.

- - spoilers ahead - -

The main reason why this is not a five star read for me (apart from my boy not being endgame) is that the ending felt really rushed. The minute we arrived at summer seven and went into the (unusually long) epilogue, the timing just didn’t feel right to me. I wanted to spend more time in the next six years with Tom (cause again: my boy), or have more time pass with Liv greasing or coming to the realization she wants to be with Finn. The way it was handled with the quick jumps between years didn’t give me time to catch up with her reasoning and made it feel rushed. I lost the connection with her (and Finn) at this point, so that their final reunion didn’t feel as satisfying as I would have hoped.

Still, this was a great read and I have a feeling these characters will stay with me for a while!

Thanks Netgalley and Random House UK, Cornerstone for providing me with this arc in exchange for an honest review!

Paige Toon never disappoints, I have loved every books I read of hers and this was no different! I normally don’t loved dual timeline but this one was done in a way where you wanted to know what happened in the past!

The pacing of the book was great and I thought it flowed really well! I didn’t love the way the ending was played out entirely but I felt it was more so realistic.

A solid 4.25 stars!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was an emotional rollercoaster and broke my heart. It is the first book of Paige's that I've read and what a book to start with!

The story centres around Liv and her life in Cornwall, we start off in the current summer, where a mysterious artist is drawing gorgeous art in the sand which captures Liv's attention. We are then transported to seven summers ago where her and Finns story starts, it starts off sweet but ends up being the worst summer of Liv's life. Finn's life is based in LA and Liv's in Cornwall and she cannot even think of how long distance could work so they go mostly no contact throughout the year and just have their summers if they are both single. Throughout the story we go back and forth between the story of this summer and the stories of the previous summers. The story of this summer is where we meet Tom, although they get off to a rough start Liv and Tom eventually hit it off and quickly form a romantic relationship even though he has things he is hiding. I'm not normally a huge fan of books with multiple love interests but Paige's writing drew me in. Towards the end of the book it felt like my heart was shattered, then put back together only to be shattered again. I just wish we got more in the bonus summers, some of them felt very short and I would have loved to read a bit more into Liv and Tom's relationship. The story was beautiful, and I'm glad we got a nice insight into how her life turned out in the end.

Thank you to netgalley and Penguin Random House UK for my arc copy of this book. After reading I was more than happy to post my honest review.

I really enjoyed reading Seven Summers- it didn’t take long as I couldn’t put it down. Already a Paige Toon fan, I liked the alternating time line and loved the characters. Equally heart breaking as heart warming this was a great read, I was just a tiny bit disappointed it was wrapped up so quickly at the end as I could have happily kept going! 4.5 stars

Seven summers flicks between the past and present to give you the story of Liv's life. Her saddest days and her greatest loves.

And it is the easiest 5 stars I will probably give all year. It was so heart achingly sad and beautiful at the same time.

It starts with Liv coming home after spending some time away after finishing university and wants to have a nice summer at home before she ventures into the world as an adult and follow her dreams of being sculpturer. She meets Finn, who is stepping in as a frontman for their friends band while in Cornwall visiting his family before he returns to his life in LA with his own band.

And then in the present we meet Tom who comes to Cornwall to run away from his life but everything isn't as it seems. He is a sweet man who is an artist at heart.

I absolutely fell in love with these characters, I felt their sadness. I just wanted them all to escape and have some happiness to ease their hearts.

This book had me sobbing and complaining that my heart hurts, to being so happy with how everything worked out in the end. With every sadness there may always be a shining light of hope and love but you need to be ready to see it.

Liv had two loves of her life and she knows how lucky she was to have had both.

No short stories needed for this one, it was beautifully pulled together.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for giving me access to a copy of this book✨✨

I’ll begin by saying, I love Paige Toons books; they’re perfect to dive into and immerse yourself in the storyline, forgetting the world around you, when you feel like you’re in the story! For me, I felt this book lacked a bit of that, and I’m not sure why - I still wanted to know what happens to the characters, but I don’t feel I bonded with them as much as they have in previous books. Perhaps it’s at the book is set over seven summers (I know the clue is in the name!) and with that comes a bit of repetition. Perhaps it’s because I couldn’t visualise Liv’s sculpting, perhaps it’s because I didn’t read it in the summer, beautiful Cornwall, I just don’t know.
I’ve still given the book a solid four out of five - I did like it I just didn’t love it.
What I did love though was the many music references and the list of songs at the back, which took me on a bit of a musical adventure afterwards. Thanks to net galley for a free copy in return for my honest review.

I loved this book soooo much! A love story of Liv and Finn, this book is a true will they or won’t they all the way through. I had all the feels in my stomach from beginning to end and loved the characters so much. Their lives have been touched with tragedy and grief but their connection had me praying they could work things out in the end. No spoilers here but my heart has been through it reading this book. The descriptions of life in Cornwall were glorious and I couldn’t put this book down. This is a read in one day kind of book! You definitely want this in your beach bag this summer!

I loved this book! It took me a little bit to get into it but once it hooked me it really hooked me! A beautiful tale of love, friendship, grief and loss. It’s funny, it’s heartbreaking but somehow still hopeful.

Brilliant read if you wanna be hit in the feels and roughed up a bit 😂 If you’re thinking of picking this one up, do it you won’t regret it.

Thoroughly enjoyed this lovingly written, emotional tale. I do enjoy a story set in a seaside setting, as I long to live near the sea. This story had all the usual easy to get to know characters, I laughed, I cried, but also really enjoyed it.

Heart wrenching but also feel good. I love Cornwall and the setting tugged at my heartstrings. I loved the characters and really routed for them. I laughed and cried and can’t wait to reread. A cute summer romance <3

This was an absorbing read. My main gripe was the ending (which some people will love I am sure) and I thought Lia could have done better…. Finn seemed a bit of a red flag (actually a sea of them, steer that ship clear of Finn), and I felt that Tom got a pretty raw deal, such is life….

Paige Toon fans will love this. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy..

Classic heartwarming and heartbreaking story from Paige Toon. I was totally swept away by her writing and descriptions of Cornwall. You can always tell she spends a lot of time researching her locations for her stories. Loved it
