I enjoy anything from Tricia Levenseller, and Vengeance is no exception. I'm glad to have returned to the world of the Pirate Queen and to actually have a morally grey character, an assassin that you actually see killing someone! I hope we see more from this world and its characters!

I was super excited to pick this up, it definitely did not disappoint! I had a lot of fun reading it and would definitely recommend it to others.

I really enjoyed these pirate books as a whole, it felt very Pirates of The Caribbean, full of dangerous missions and romance!

This book was super fast-paced and action-packed , I was fully investived the whole time and thoroughly entertained too. Every time I thought I knew where the plot was going, it when another way which kept it interesting. Also that ending! So sweet!

The characters were all really fun, I loved that we got to see a lot of the side characters again and get to know them more. I love Sorinda so much, she was fierce and I loved how we saw her walls breaking down for Kearan!

Overall, brilliant! Enjoyed every second!

This was my favourite book in the series, the MC was just perfection! From the first line in the book I was mesmerised I can’t complement this book enough. It was exciting the whole way through and the twist was just outrageous, 100% recommending this to everyone.

I have been working my way through Tricia Levenseller’s backlist and the first books by her that I picked up was The Daughter of the Pirate King and The Daughter of the Siren Queen so when I heard about this book I knew that I would have to read it, ideally straight away but that didn’t end up having for multiple reasons, however I did recently decide to finally read it and loved doing so.

Vengeance of the Pirate Queen follows Sorinda, Alosa the pirate queen’s most trusted assassin, who has been trusted to captain a dangerous rescue mission and when the King of the Undersea is awoken and wants to claim her, she realises just how bad of a situation her and her crew are in.

Tricia Levenseller is fast becoming one of my favourite YA fantasy authors and this was just as good as I anticipated it to be. This followed some great strong characters, some great pirating and a world I love to explore and I could not put the last 35% down.

Throughout the story we follow Sorinda’s perspective which we have not previously followed during the series but she was a character that I loved learning more about and discovering her secrets as we progressed through the story and got hints but didn’t quite know what had happened until it was all revealed. She’s a character with lots of secrets and things that have happened in her past that have a major impact on who she is and why she makes the decisions she makes.

While I knew that I love Alosa and Riden before starting this story I wasn’t sure about Sorinda and Kearan but over the course of the story I grew to really like them and want the best for them. Sorinda was a character who as I learned more about I grew to like more as I understood her more. I started out being unsure of her but slowly that changed and I liked her as a character, and I don’t think that would have happened if we hadn’t learned more about her in the way we did. Kearan on the other hand I liked from the start and enjoyed learning more about and understanding his actions that we saw in the original two books but didn’t know what caused them. I also liked meeting new pirates and characters who we didn’t already know at the same time as seeing many characters who we already knew from Alosa’s crew including young Rosalyn who I think is maybe my favourite character in the entire book.

I loved the pirates and characters as previously mentioned along with discovering more of this world and parts that were previously unknown to both us and the characters. The Alosa and Riden cameos were great to see because I love that they now have their happy ending and seeing them was just great. I love pirate books and this was pirating at its best. Tricia Levenseller’s characters are always well-written and I find it easy to fall in love with them, this being no exception. After how the previous two books rely on each other and are a series that you need to read one after the other, it was nice to read a book that fits more as a companion book and doesn’t depend on having recently read any books to understand it. I don’t think I loved this as much as I did Daughter of the Pirate King and Daughter of the Siren Queen, which was possibly partly due to not being as invested in the characters as I am Alosa and Riden but that has nothing to do with something that could have been improved and more due to my personal preference.

I would recommend this book as much as I would any other Tricia Levenseller that I have previously read and this has just again proved that I need to read more of her books off of my TBR. It is a fantasy book that has me easily invested and wanting to read more which I always love. An easy 4.5 star read and I look forward to picking up a copy of the paperback.

Thank you to Netgalley and Pushkin Press for a free e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

I love this series! This is easily one of my favourite series, and I loved getting to know different characters in this book. The characters are all very likeable and fun to read about. The storyline was very interesting in this book, and I found it hard to put down. There were so many tense moments, I had to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next. I’m really hoping there’s more books to come for this series, as I’d love to keep reading about these characters!

'Eighteen-year-old Sorinda is a deadly assassin with a reputation to match. But her latest assignment is like no other. The pirate queen, Alosa, has tasked her with captaining a handpicked crew on a dangerous rescue mission, and her sailing master is none other than the infuriating Kearan.'

When a book starts with an 18-year-old assassin taking out a whole house's worth of people you know a book is going to be different! The main characters are ones we have previously met in the Daughter of the Pirate King novels. Sorinda is young and emotionally closed off to the rest of her crew. This book follows her first foray into captaining and learning that trust can be given without being hard fought. Kearan was introduced to us in the previous books as a drunk but he has since stopped the drinking and is trying to get himself back on the straight and narrow.

The love interest storyline grows throughout the book and is a very nice touch of slow-burn YA romance, showing it doesn't need to be all sizzle and bang but how relationships can grow over time. The first half of this book was used to develop the characters as we did not have a chance to truly meet them in the initial duology, but the second half is really where the action is. Plenty of swash-buckling fun with pirates sea monsters and the unforgiving sea. This book was a great little quick read that I zoomed through!

There's every few books I'm willing to drop everything for but the Pirate Queen series will always be one!

I loved reading Vengence of the pirate queen and it was awesome to get the perspective of Sorinda.

Lovely read, and I hope we get a 4th in the series soon!

Loved the first 2 books of the series but had to DNF this book. Maybe I need to give it another try but it just didn’t have the same sparkle the first 2 did.

this is the tragic tale of I've outgrown this series. unfortunately I had to DNF. I struggled to suspend my disbelief for this series to continue. but I'm sure for those it's intended for it's a great book.

I discovered Tricia Levenseller when The Daughter of the Pirate King was initially released. So when I found out that this series was being continued/added to with the release of Vengeance of the Pirate King, I was absolutely thrilled.

The newest instalment in the series gave me the same feelings and emotions, as the previous two. Vengeance of the Pirate Queen follows Sorinda, assassin of Alosa, The Pirate Queen; her newest mission being not one of murder, but to captain a rescue mission.

The chemistry with Sorinda and Kearan was electric - with Sorinda supplying the generally grumpy, badass persona that made her an absolutely amazing MC. While Kearan was definitely a sweet, cinnamon roll; i.e. the perfect mmc. The relationship between these characters developed in a good pace - avoiding the insta-love trope typically seen in YA novels.

I love this series so much and despite being a tad nervous when I saw that the series was continuing (particularly given how much I LOVED the first two) I was not disappointed and would highly recommend!

Final book in the series, an excellent wrap-up! I first got into Tricia Levenseller via "The Darkness Between Us" (which I read in like 6 hours which is a best for me), and loved every second I spent in the world she weaved. Here I am again, reading a pirate story from this lovely author, keep writing!

Having adored the first two books in this series I was so excited to delve back into this world with Alosa and her crew!

Following on from the original duology, this book follows assassin Sorinda embarking on her first mission as captain. Sorinda really is such a great character and the development of her character, alongside some old and new favourites really is fab in this book.

Unfortunately I found it difficult to feel quite as invested in this story compared to the original two and the plot fell a little flat is comparison.

If you enjoyed the other books I would still recommend it as an enjoyable read!

DNF at 30%
I’m so sad about this, I read the original duology years ago and have read all the author’s releases since and this just felt entirely different. It really felt like I was had grown out of the series and I just couldn’t connect or find any intrigue with the characters, they read as if they were being edgy purely for the sake of it and there is no part of me that believed the main character was a skilled assassin.
Honestly, I don’t understand the point in continuing the series other than for financial gain and at 30% there still wasn’t a strong plot and I have no need to know what happens at the end because it feels pointless. Really disappointing.

An absolutely fun continuation and romp to this world. This is the installment I didn't know I needed but I did need it. I loved seeing previous characters , especially Alosa but Sorinda dominated this story well.

I really enjoyed Tricia Levenseller’s Daughter of the Pirate King and Daughter of the Siren Queen so I was really intrigued to return to this world and these characters. The story follows Sorinda, the Queen’s assassin, who is sent on a rescue mission to find a missing ship. Queen Alosa has handpicked the crew that will accompany Sorinda, including sailing master Kearan. Sorinda finds him insufferable, but she will have to put up with him nonetheless. When the crew travel into uncharted waters they find something much darker than they expected and their rescue mission becomes a fight for survival, but will they all make it out alive?

This was such a fun and engaging read! It had all the elements I loved from the first two books. It was fast paced and full of action and adventure. If you love pirate stories this series is definitely one to pick up. It was really nice to be back with characters we met in the previous books and we do get a few glimpses of Alosa and Riden. This is very much Sorinda and Kearan’s story though and I really enjoyed seeing them grow as the story progressed. Sorinda is a really fascinating protagonist, someone who has been so affected by the trauma of her past. I thought her and Kearan worked really well together and I loved seeing their relationship bloom. We also get to see some other favourites from the previous books, like Roslyn and Enwen which was a nice addition.

The story is well plotted, with lots of swashbuckling and fighting. I ended up racing through this one because it was so easy to lose myself in the story. Overall it comes to a really satisfying conclusion and I would love to see Levenseller write more books in this world. If you’ve read the first two books this one is absolutely worth picking up and if you’re looking for a series to binge read, this one will keep you hooked right till the very last page.

Brilliant book that had me hooked. I had not read the previous books in the series but that did not matter as this can be read as a stand alone.
The book is a real page turner and from the start it grips you moving from assassin to pirate captain.
Sorinda was a brilliant character and I hope she will appear in other books. The whole ships crew were phenomenal. What more could you want assassins and pirates....perfect

It was such a treat to be back in the worl of our Pirate Queen Alosa and her pirates.
Sorinda is such an interesting character who we see grow immensly throughout this book.
I love the relationships between the character.

A fast paced book, which is one of the things I like about Tricia Levenseller's writing style.

Was a really good book I really enjoyed it. Definitely matched the vibes of the first two books. I enjoyed the adventure of it, and how she sails a brigantine which is my favourite type of ship. It’s a perfect book for lovers of pirates and adventure. I was drawn to this mainly because of the first two books but also because I enjoy playing a pirate game online which this book gave me similar vibes.

Well, what can I say except I absolutely loved this book.

When I read the original Daughter of the Pirate King duet, I wondered what Sorinda's story was, and I'm glad we got to learn more about her in this book. I also loved seeing Alosa and Riden again, even if only in a few brief scenes.

As the Pirate Queen's assassin, Sorinda works hard and always keeps herself hidden in the shadows - just the way she likes it. To see her open up and create both friendships and a relationship was lovely, and I really enjoyed seeing her character develop and grow over the course of the book.

Kearan and Sorinda are a great match and I loved seeing it all unfold.

This book has everything you'd want from a pirate tale: pirates, fighting, deserted islands, sailing, legends, mythical creatures and more!

I hope we get another book from this world in the future.

E-ARC provided via Netgalley.

Priates of the Caribbean meets Game of Thrones The Night King. Sprinkled with a touch of Disneys Tangled.

I was dubious going into this book after finding out it wasn't with Alosa and Riden as the main characters.

But it was excellent. New and old pirates coming back and making an adventure.

The first 40% was a touch slow but after that the pacing and action really kicked up and I couldn't put it down.
The romance building had me squealing as it was just too damn cute
But also with the drama added in.

A great addition to this series
