This book was a good read, I liked the podcast style of this and how the podcaster was delving into an unsolved murder case and interviewing people who were associated with Geneva, and how everything unravels as the podcaster delves further in.
There were enough twists to keep me interested and the storyline was great. I didn't have a clue "whodunit". The ending left me gobsmacked.
I would recommend it.

I was new to @beccaday when I was sent the audio of this wonderful book and I genuinely couldn't read this fast enough. There were so many twists and turns that were perfect at sewing the seeds of doubt in my mind. I think the dual timeline had me hooked instantly and I constantly changed my mind on who the killer was but that is the sign of a great thriller isn't. All the characters were so well written, diverse and inherently flawed but in a good way. I don't want to say too much and risk spoiling this wonderful book but please read ASAP. #Beccaday #netgalley #bookstagram

The Secrets We Buried is a psychological thriller about a group of women with a toxic friendship. When one of them is murdered, her husband is the main suspect but is he actually innocent? As secrets are revealed, it seems several people have a reason to want her dead.
If you assume this book is not based in any kind of real life situation, you could enjoy it. Take the story and motives with a pinch of salt and it may appeal to fans of the genre.

Something about this book made me feel like I should be enjoying it more than I did, but for some reason I just couldn’t get hooked on it. I felt some of the characters were a little lacklustre, and were missing the depth they needed. Even so, I was glad I finished the book and it wasn’t a bad read, but just not the most exciting.

Audio version of this book 📕- It was a good start with lots of twists and turns. Keeps you guessing as to who the murderer is , however , it just got so far fetched it ruined it for me .The narrator was good and was easy to listen to.

I'm sorry, I really tried with this book but the storyline just didn't grip.me at all. I found myself uninterested at every corner, with a mildly annoying narrator. Unfortunately this book was not for me.

Four friends Zara, Nadine, Geneva and Frankie enjoy getting together for their wine club. After one session, Geneva’s body is found on the beach and suspicion point directly to the husband but no one is ever arrested for the crime. Five years on, Geneva’s husband returns to the area and locals still feel he is guilty. Coincidentally, true crime podcaster, Juniper Rose comes to town and determined to solve this cold case. She is like a dog with a bone, quizzing everyone over their alibis and motive.
I did enjoy this book, and found some aspects comical, in this light heated mystery. A clever plot that comes together at the end with plenty of twists along the road. A new author to add to my favourites list.

I enjoyed this book but it did drag out a bit. Nice narration and an amazing twist I never saw coming though.

The story was telling in the podcast style which was a fun read. The storyplot was unique. The ending and twists were not expected. Everyone in the story was suspicious and you needed to solve the murder case together.

The narrator was doing a great job. Easy to follow and not confusing. The author created the tension and made this thriller into such an intriguing read!

This audiobook, set in England, sees 3 friends reunited at the funeral of one of the women's mother. There should have been a fourth woman also in attendance, but tragically this 4th friend was murdered some years previously. For some of the friends this caused them to relocate and get as far aware from. the scene of the crime as possible. We learn that these women all had a complex relationship with the murder victim, all having a reason to hate her - the term 'frenemy' could have being written for this book. At the funeral, a wannabe podcaster turns up trying to pin down one of the friends for an interview, as she delves into the unsolved murder as part of her 'crime over wine' podcast. This sets the cat amongst the pigeons, and the novel plays out with suspicion cast in all directions until the murder is solved!

A decent plot with a fabulous ending! Narration is on point. All in all, a decent listen from an author to watch!

This was a fascinating story of long term friendships that should have ended quite a while ago. A good whodunit told through the characters POV and a podcast style.

This Narrator was good when she was doing the female voices but absolutely TERRIBLE with the males. They all sounded the same with that too husky voice. For this reason I would recommend the Ebook or physical book over the audiobook to my book friends.

This is my first time trying this author and I've already picked up "All Her Little Lies" for my next read.

I struggled to get in to this book. It was a good story but I didn't love it. Good twist though, I didn't see that coming.

I loved this! Quite unique in the way it includes transcripts from the YouTube content of Juniper which really helps to get you involved with the case and story.

How it all played out in the end seemed a little unrealistic which is why I would give 4.5 stars instead of 5 but I really enjoyed it. It felt really well thought out and the characters were well fleshed out too.

If there is a sequel then I will 100% be picking it up for a read! The narrator did a fab job on this audiobook.

The Secrets we Buried made for a really interesting listen and I enjoyed it. I did find the narrative quite confusing at times but it is still a good story.

We meet four very different women who are friends and the characters are told through their perspectives.

When one of them is found dead, this opens up lots of questions and the narrative is super intriguing. We are then introduced to Jupiter is wants to look into the murder and the reader is thrust into the many secrets that these women had in their closets.

Becca Day has created a really intriguing read and if you like a good who dun it, then this is a good story.

An enjoyable, fairly fast paced, read. The characters weren’t particularly likeable and some of the plot wasn’t particularly believable, but it was a good, modern ‘whodunit’. I enjoyed the narration and will look out for more by the author. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers.

You know its a good story when you start imaging what actor could play each character if it was made into a movie.

I'll admit this was a little slow to start but once I got into it.......wow. twist after twist. Just when you think you've worked out the murderer wham another plot twist comes along and knocks your theory out of the park.

A great reat

Absolutely loved this book! Fast paced and keeps you interested all the way through. I devoured it in two days!. I listened to the audio which was well narrated and easy to follow. A modern thriller/whodunnit that keeps you guessing through out. Will definitely read more from this author and would recommend others to read also.

I'm sorry but what a bunch of vile characters and a plot with so many holes in it that I'm surprised that the narrator was skilled enough to keep me listening right through to the even more unbelievable end.
