This was my first time reading a novel by Calia Quinn, and I was not disappointed. I enjoyed Cara and Luca's connection (as well as the Kane brothers). They're to die for. And the grumpy/sunshine dynamic was fantastic, as was the fitting tale. I honestly can't wait to say it, but I want to read more of these works!!!! Definitely recommend.

I could not put it down and finished it in one sitting. Whilst it could use some work I was hooked. In places the writing is juvenile and very repetitive but overall I enjoyed the story. And the Kane brothers. I would happy go visit them.

Steamy, romance and some funny moments, all sounds good. It took me a while to get in to it and to follow the writing style but when I did, it was enjoyable. Unfortunately some bits were a bit hard to follow due to grammatical errors. The spice was spicing which I can’t complain about

When I first read what this book was about I was really looking forward to getting stuck in. The first around 30% set a good scene I could see it going places. Then it just went down hill. The intimate scenes were just annoying. Sometimes you couldn't understand what was going on, was someone sat down or stood up, how many arms and legs do the characters have. In one part the female lead was stood against the sink and jax is sat down and rund a hand up her thigh then he gets up and walks over to her. How long were his arms if he could run a hand up her thigh but still have to walk to get to her. Later on when she has been taken she is told to beg. She has been begging for 2 pages and she is still being told to beg. The same lines over and over were getting tedious. In another scene her hands were tied behind her back but she was able to reach out and wrap her arms around the guy. He was holding her arms above her head in another scene and then he reached down and grabbed her other arm, how many arms does this girl have? I gave it 2 stars because it could have been good, the beginning was good and the end felt like it was getting good but unfortunatly didn't get there.

In Calia Quinn's dark romance debut, desire simmers like sinful chocolate as our protagonist grapples with the forbidden attraction to her irresistibly sinful boss, Jax. The narrative unfolds with a tension that's as deliciously forbidden as breaking a diet for a piece of rich chocolate. The office dynamic takes an unexpected turn during a business trip, introducing the enigmatic Kane brothers and adding an intriguing layer to the story. Quinn's steamy office romance keeps readers on the edge, exploring the complexities of desire, contempt, and the unexpected twists that redefine relationships. Prepare to be swept away in a tale where every glance feels forbidden, and every encounter leaves you craving more.

thank you for letting me read this book without requesting it.
now that is out of the way, i am mostly always on board with dark romance but it felt a bit repititive when reading though i thought it was a good one for mere timepass it needed some more different of a plot. also the discription was so good that thought this was totally steal. but i guess it wanst after all

I was expecting more from this book, but I just felt like I didn't get it. The story had me hooked at first but I found it quite repetitive at times that made me lose my focus when reading.
Thankyou Net Galley for an ARC of this book.

From the description I had high hopes, the writing started off okay however plot wise I would have to believe both Jax and Cara must have multiple personalities for me to get on board with how their relationship escalated! She has worked for him for 7 years while he has been silently obsessing… there was minimal flirting/banter/tension one day and it’s straight to dirty talk in the middle of a business meeting ?!? .
This being said I did love all the characters, unfortunately the constant repetition of words and frequent mistakes took me out of this one…. Definitely had the bones of a really interesting read but the execution let this one down.

So I just finished this book! And I won’t lie I’m a little disappointed, this book has so much promise and for me it just didn’t deliver. It seemed to go from 0-100 too quick and then just went back to 0…unfortunately it’s only a 2 🌟 for me
*I did receive this book as an ARC*

This book has so much potential and I really loved the concept but the execution just fell a little flat and it would have benefited from a really good edit to iron out the plot inconsistencies, grammatical and formatting errors and ensure the plot and character development.
I did love the storyline and the themes overall but the plot became a little muddled and tried to add too many tropes and elements. I would have liked more backstory on the Kane brothers and more development of their characters from the very beginning.
However, the spice was good and I did enjoy these scenes whilst reading. It does appear to be left open to a sequel which, if the points above are addressed, I will absolutely read as I am feral for the Kane brothers!

Reisisting Jax
3.4/5⭐️
✨No Spoilers
If you want a book that’s nothing but spice this is it. It definitely gave me all the feels. I love how each one of the brothers relationship with Calia is different, they all treat her a little different, love her differently. There wasn’t much plot in my opinion, I felt like there would be a chapter or two in a row of plot, but then 3 chapters of pure spice. I feel like the chapters that did have smut, it was a little repetitive. Don’t get me wrong, not a bad thing, I just would have appreciated a story line more throughout the book.
I did have a hard time, just a little with some of the errors in the book. Honestly they were so small, it was hard to notice some. It was also hard to know at times who said what line.
Overall, this book gets a 3.5 stars for me.

The book was just okay. The spicy parts were spicy, but I did notice halfway through the book that it got really repetitive. Sentences were just slightly reworded or restructured to say the same things, and I kept getting confused, thinking I’d been rereading things I’d already read. I only kept reading because I wanted to know what happened as the story did have potential, but there were loads of mistakes throughout that made me almost DNF.
Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this book!

This was disappointing.
The story has potential, but it was really poorly executed. The writing lacks basic grammar and is littered with mistakes. An author should at least know when to use ‘You’re’ versus ‘Your,’ and some proof reading wouldn’t have gone amiss.
There are a TON of phrases that are used repetitively and excessively throughout, which makes for dull reading.
The elements of this that were supposed to be ‘dark’ were done fairly well, but I found that they still jumped all over the place and weren’t developed particularly well.
The sex scenes were over done and were really quite repetitive. Did we really need an in-depth description of how a tampon was removed pre-sex via an MMC’s teeth? It just felt incredibly cringe-worthy.
Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this one. It needs a ton of work.

I normally don't read dark romance/erotica/why choose, but I wanted to try something out of my comfort zone.
Let me start by saying the book was hot…
I liked Cara and the Kane brothers as characters and even though I read spicy books, I've never read anything like that before.
However, I think the plot, especially the ending was rushed and some things came too short. I would've liked some extra chapter or epilogue to see what happened to Essie and how Cara felt after what happened. Also, there were some things that were hard to imagine (or maybe I'm just too innocent?).
And the book should be checked for typos. There were many of them in there (like there instead of their etc.).
Overall, I'm proud that I read something out of my comfort zone, but I don't think that it is something I gravitate towards (yet?).

This book was a good read, however there was little story line and a lot of smut. If you like that it's a great read.

Resisting Jax is 100% a style of book I would reach for again. Its a spicey romance with covering lots of different tropes! I gave this 3 starts as whilst I personally really enjoyed it, I know this style of YA writing wouldn't suit many other my other book-mad friends and I would need a series to really satisfy a complete storyline and give complete depth to all of the characters.

This book was so good! It was intriguing and really drawed me in. I'll be reading more of this authors work.

I don't read spicy books often but I could not put this book down!! I absolutely loved the story from the word go and it exceeded my spicy expectations. The writing was brilliant and the spice never felt cringey or embarrassing to read. It was perfectly spicy and I haven't stopped thinking about it since I read it!

ARC Review.
Resisting Jaz by @Calia Quinn
Debut novel from Calia Quinn follows FMC Cara and MMCs Jax, Elijah, River, and Luca in this why choose romance.
First it was Jax, then Elijah, then River and then Luca... but if she wants one of them, she must accept them all.
Great storyline full of twists and turns with an ending I never saw coming. All our characters are hiding dark secrets from their past that collide in a way that could change everything.
The writing is good, but there are some parts where expressions are overused and can start to feel empty. However, overall, this was a great book, and there are lots of spicy scenes that could make your toes curl.

Oh my goodness this book was on fire and I ate it up
Very well written, the spice was spicing and the story flowed really well, I was hooked from the start
