Resisting Jax by Calia Quinn - 2/5 ⭐
Unfortunately I cannot leave a fair review as I DNF'ed at 28%. It just wasn't for me. The writing was great and had great premise but I couldn't finished it.

“There’s a fine line between desire and danger. And I think I’m about to walk through the flames of hell, just to see how pretty those flames dance around my soul”
Resisting Jax is a spicy erotica romance starring Cara and her relationships with five brothers. And I mean SPICY! There is literally something for every kink going in here. Office romance, enemies to lovers, knife play, blood play, 3 on 1, ass play, DP, somnophilia, breath play, touch her and die, non con, forced orgasms, master/slave… phew!
Unfortunately, it is a bit repetitive in places and due to fitting in alllll of that spice, I think the storyline does suffer a bit.
Needless to say, it does kick your heart rate up a bit! A solid 4 stars from me.
“Nobody says no to Jackson Kane”

I felt the premise of this book was really enticing. Something taboo with a bit of a plot.
However, there was something missing. I felt the tension was building really nicely, although some parts felt a bit repetitive. However, as soon as they left for London in the first few chapters it felt like there were key elements and explanation skipped. I felt lost as I read, not really understanding how the characters got to where they were. This continued.
The characters were entertaining, I just wanted more. So I definitely didn’t dislike the book, but the writing needs refinement to help flow.
I hope I can read more of Calia’s writing in the future.

OUFFF is hot in here! It's not really a plot of any kind, just plain s*x. It starts really promising with the main characters having some story between them but after giving in to their passion, is all only s*x scenes with no transition between them or any explanation of real-life events. Very poor composition of the story. But if you are a lover of good passion scenes, this is for you.

i very much enjoyed this book my first read from this Author .a very steamy read. Cara works for Jax all the women want him. but Cara calls him Grumpy pants. and then they have to go to London on a Business trip and everything changes. and then she meets his brothers. i so looking forward to reading book 2

I absolutely ATE this book up! So easy to fall into from the beginning, it’s suspenseful, dark, extra extra spicy 🌶️ was so invested in all of the Kane Brothers & Cara’s journey and very much anticipating the prequel and Capturing Ava!! Love love love ❤️ Thank you Calia & NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this stunning piece of work!

The storyline is fantastic and I was captivated from the offset. I absolutely loved this book and would recommend it to anyone.
There were a few spelling mistakes and I found certain parts to be very repetitive. There were a few sentences that were the same in the same paragraph and the overuse of nicknames was a bit off putting.
However I would rate it 4* even with these minor issues. A fantastic read, thank you for allowing me the privilege of reading it

Lots of content warnings on this book!
The first part of the story really hooks you in as it is extremely well written, engaging and beautifully paced.
The second half of the story goes really dark and sinister rather quickly. It is HOT in places, but also somewhat repetitive and (in my view) unnecessarily dark. It felt like a book of two halves.

2.5 stars- This book was lighthearted and spicy. It read like a spicy novella for me, where you can just focus and get straight to the good parts.
The writing for the characters for me needed a bit more context for deeper investment.

I don’t think I went into this entirely with my eyes open and so some of the erotic /spice things n this book certainly took me by surprise, although that was a pleasant surprise and only at times a little repetitive. The humour was chuckle worthy and really had me enjoying these characters but surprisingly the dark turns this book took within the second half we’re more surprising and not as welcome. Definitely lost any of the fun and lightness of the relationships built and although that isn’t necessarily a deterrent it did leave me wondering how I would describe this book as it is a romance, it is humorous, it is erotic, it is suspense. There are heavy subjects and taboo subjects covered and I’m not sure they all really needed to be in one story
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review

Adult read, yes. Erotic, definitely yes. Romance, yes, some. Repetitive, yes, just a little a bit. Humour, some yes. Fun read, for me some; I enjoyed the first half, the second half not so much. Thank you to CQ Royally dark romance and NetGalley for the ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.

This has to be one of my favourite reverse harem aka why choose romance books from this year. You might need spare panties nearby when reading this book because dear god was it hot, steamy, sexy, and everything in between! I need a minute or two to recover before giving my full thoughts on this book.
