But Olive knows he is an imposter. . what is she going to do? Well she tries to make it work with this new toy but he just doesn't understand. Then a thunderstorm comes one night and this new toy helps to calm Olive. What will happen when the old Mr. Snuggles returns.

I sweet story with great pictures and easy to follow storyline. Good for any kid who has a special something.

This was a cute story about a little girl who loses her plushie. She is heartbroken of course. When Mr. Snuggles shows up she is elated! Until she realizes something is different. She won't do with an Imposter!

This story was so sweet and the illustrations were perfect. I loved how it highlighted the importance of having a favorite snuggle buddy and the trauma kids feel when they lose them. Olive received a replacement because her parents knew how important Mr Snuggles was to her. She did not like the replacement and tried her best to ignore him. But on a stormy night, she realized that the “imposter” was there when she need him. Olive finds her original missing snuggle buddy and she learns that two are better than one.
Such a good story to have class discussions with or parent scan talk to their kids. I also like the vocabulary that helps enhance a child’s word knowledge.

The Imposter was such a cute story! The illustrations were colorful, and the sentence structure and placement will be sure to grab children's attention, especially the sound effects.

An absolute DELIGHT of a book! In The Imposter, Laura Bower perfectly depicts that most dreaded day for all parents - the loss of a favourite stuffed animal. When Olive loses Mr Snuggles she is distraught, but then he reappears - or does he? Clever Olive suspects an imposter, and refuses to make friends with the new Mr Snuggles, but might there be a happy ending in sight for everyone? It's a story that tugs at the heartstrings. Kerisa Greene's illustrations are adorable and I defy anyone not to fall in love with both Mr Snuggles AND the 'Imposter'.

The Imposter perfectly captures the power of a child's imagination while celebrating both loyalty to old friends and the beauty of making new ones.

The Imposter is an adorable story about a little girl who discovers that there is always room in your heart for one more person (or thing). The illustrations help carry the story forward making it an exciting and entertaining adventure for young children. The lesson of the book provides a wonderful teaching opportunity for a parent. Highly recommend.

An absolutely adorable (and accurate) children's picture book, best to be either read to a small child or for one just learning, I loved it! My little loved it, and its pretty relatable. Simplistic but emotive illustrations that work well with the text/story, this one would make a great gift. Recommended.

Olive LOVES her Mr. Snuggles. He's her best friend and confidante. They do everything together. When he goes missing one day, she is bereft. Then he reappears. JOY! Only . . . suddenly he's cleaner, and he smells different. Could Olive's dearest pal been replaced by an . . . imposter?

This is a very cute, very relatable tale that any child who's ever loved a stuffed animal or doll is going to adore. Kerisa Greene's artwork is sweet, and makes a great accompaniment to the story.

A story that many of lived. NO, you cannot replace a loved stuffed animal. They will know. Every. Single. Time. So many big emotions with the missing Mr. Snuggles. Eventually, Olive finds space in her heart for Mr. Huggies. Illustrations and text blead perfectly in this story of old and new friends.

Everyone has one thing they loved more than anything else in this world. Same as Olive who has a cute doll named Mr.Snuggles. Oneday, Mr. Snuggles went missing. Olives searched all the usual spot.

Read aloud with your kids and ask them what the things they loved more. My daughter have a big teddy named Olaf and she loves that teddy.

The illustration of this book was so cute. Surely, kids will love to read it until the last pages.

So many families have faced this situation. When a favorite stuffy goes missing, Olive looked everywhere for it. Readers see her share her memories of all the special times together as she searches. Then, she finds Mr. Snuggles, but it doesn't feel the same. She discovers her family has bought a new stuffy which she rejects. By the end, she has both stuffies and is happy again.
Bower does a masterful job capturing all of the emotions involved in losing a security object. Readers will feel the pain and see the humor as the story unfolds. The illustrations enhance the text and offer further clues throughout.

"Imposter" is a fun read about a stuffed animal named Mr. Snuggles. Olive is unhappy when Mr. Snuggles goes missing. Her parents attempt to replace Mr. Snuggles with an identical one. After a stormy night, Olive decides that maybe Mr. Snuggles and its imposter aren't so bad. I highly recommend this book for its whimsical pictures that accompany the text.

Olive has lost her favorite snuggly pal, Mr. Snuggles, and is distraught. She used to do everything with Mr. Snuggles, play games, read books, sing songs together, etc. Then "Mr. Snuggles" shows up again and Olive realizes that something is not quite right with him, he just seems different; too clean, too fluffy, and more like an imposter. Olive finds the box that came with the new Mr. Snuggles and her suspicions about him being an imposter are confirmed. She is so upset that the old Snuggles is gone that she doesn't want to play with her new snuggly toy. Her parents encourage her to try to get used to her new Mr. Snuggles and before we know it Olive finds new things she likes to do with the imposter. Then one night after looking far under her bed she finds her old Mr. Snuggles and names her new one Mr. Huggles. Two new friends are born and neither one is an imposter to Olive anymore.

A relatable book for most young children who have had their very own snuggly friend. Also teaches a cute lesson in learning to adjust to new friends/new things in our lives after a loss. I would love to own a hard copy of this picturebook for my collection. A beautiful and successful debut by the author Bower.

This book was sweet. I loved the illustrations and the vibrance of the main character. My daughter has a lovey and is very attached to him so I can very much relate. I loved the cute ending.

Olive and Mr. Snuggles are inseparable, best friends that do everything and go everywhere together. When he is missing one day she searches everywhere, until she has to stop. Then she’s given an imposter who she doesn’t take a liking to but when she needs him most he is there for her.

What an adorable story of a child’s connection to their best plushie friend. I loved the love she had for Mr. Snuggles and that’s he knew him so perfectly well, there was no hiding that it wasn’t him at all. I also really loved that though she didn’t like the imposter she eventually learnt how important he was too and called him Mr. Huggles which is so cute.

The illustrations were all really beautiful to look at, seeing how she was playing with her best friends, her searching for him, and her adjusting to the new friend. They were drawn so sweetly and matched the story perfectly.

I do recommend this book, it’s a really easy and very very sweet read, if your child has a plushie best friend then they would completely connect with Olive and adore this sweet story. I loved it so much as someone that still holds my plushies dear to me this was so precious.
