This is quite a raunchy novel; after reading Part One, I wondered what I was in for! But the story soon settles into a quite beautiful journey through the life of an Italian girl, her travels, and her adventures. The love scenes are described thoughtfully and imaginatively. The book is essentially a love story which becomes complicated, but there’s loads of other stuff too. Some of it was unnecessary, such as the descriptions of Merano and Venice, and the guided tour of Heidelberg. But the many aviation references were very interesting, and they included brilliant drama. The book is a ‘feel-good’ story, often outright funny, and a real page turner.

This book should be labeled as Erotica, which is not in the description.
This book follows Catarina as she grows into her woman hood. It lays out all of her sexual escapades with many different men. Just about every chapter has at least one explicit sex scene which was quite jarring and unexpected. She is quite ridiculous and loose with the men she’s having her way with. Many times I thought that is quite dangerous in who she’s hooking up with. Not only that but at no time in this book were condoms ever used which I find very risky seeing as how much sex she was having. In one chapter she and a girl friend were sharing two men who were going one after another and no one used a condom.

The writing was good but all these issues took me out of the story.
If you are looking for erotic then this book may be for you.

Thank you to NetGalley, Jo Draxler, and the publisher for this ARC of A Single Breath of Air in exchange for an honest review!

I found this book to be a very interesting read! I believe this is a debut novel for Jo Draxler and I think it's well done. He is definitely a talented author and I enjoyed this story a lot! The book is broken up into parts, and I would say around part two or three was where I found that I was pretty invested in the story. Around then I realized that I wanted to keep turning the page, so much so that I was able to read the book in one night. I wouldn't say that it's a fast-paced novel exactly, but rather it's a novel that's easy to fall into and want to stay until the story is over!

A Single Breath of Air is the perfect book to turn to if you've had a bad day and need to escape into a dramatic story with love and friendship. Caterina is a good main character, and it's her life that we follow throughout this book. I love how she is with people, and I enjoyed reading about all the relationships she forms with her friends & lovers. I found that even though I can't exactly relate to her experiences, there's something very human about her that made her story and her connections with others throughout her life pretty captivating!

This is a nice book to read and I definitely recommend people give it a try! And I'll be looking forward to any other books by Jo Draxler!
