My first book by this author. I really liked the sound of this one and I'm happy to say I really enjoyed reading it! What an original and refreshing plot which had all the elements of a romantic comedy in it! We meet Lauren who comes home after a drunken night out to be greeted by her husband Michael. Lovely, you might think...but Lauren isn't married and doesn't know who Michael is!! We then find out that Lauren's loft hatch appears to be some husband-producing portal where when the current husband goes up into the loft, he comes back down as a completely different one!!
This story had me hooked from the beginning. Once Lauren had got over the confusion of what was going on, it was fun watching her send the husband back up into the loft when she was faced with one she didn't really like! I liked Lauren's character, but did find that she was a little shallow when it came to picking which husband she would keep for a while - some didn't get to chance to utter a word before they were sent back up! But if I'm being honest, if I was Lauren, I'd probably pick the good looking ones too!!
The storyline flowed along at a good pace. I did however get a little confused later in the story when another character appears who gives a different view on what was happening! It was easy to read and fun throughout though, with some romance (and sex scenes!) to complete the story! Loved the idea, enjoyed the story, would recommend!

Oh wow. I loved this book - although I did feel that it was a little too long.
Lauren returns home from a hen party one night to be greeted by Michael, her husband. Except, Lauren isn't married.
But whence speaks to her friends, it seems as though they have been together for ages.
Things only get weirder when Michael climbs the attic and when he climbs back down the ladder, there's a completely different man. Also a husband.
What is going on? And why is it that every time Lauren sends a man up into her attic, another one comes down?

Really enjoyed this book - was a real page turner and I wasn't sure how it would end! A house where your attic generates husbands provides a surprising amount of twists and turns to life, particularly when they're not always the best housemate.
Lauren is a good character to spend time with as she's funny but not quite perfect, surrounded by a host of likeable friends and more of a mixed-bag of husbands. It made me glad that I don't have an attic so don't have to worry about any potential ethical choices or judging my relationship status!

I've been hearing a lot about this book and was excited to dip in. It's an utterly delightful, rom-com (or is it?) with a really fun central concept - what if you had a magic attic that produced different husbands? This is the predicament single, thirty-something Lauren finds herself in when, after a night out celebrating her friend's hen do, she comes home to find a strange man in her house.
Once she's worked out it's her attic conjuring men, there's a lot of enjoyment to be had as she cycles through a multitude of different husbands trying to find the one that she wants to settle down with and also trying out different versions of her life at the same time. It's obviously a clear comment on modern dating culture and the ability to judge and swipe on the apps. This metaphor is hammered home a little strongly when Lauren also tries dating via apps later in the book, but you sort of forgive it any clunkiness as there's so much joy in the quirkiness. I also found the ending petered out a bit and I actually found the messaging a bit depressing (which isn't usually the case for books of this type), but overall I was totally engrossed and entertained and would recommend just based on the concept.
Perfect for fans of Emily Henry or Taylor Jenkins Reid., I think we'll be hearing a lot about this book!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a copy in exchange for an honest review.

What an interesting and fun premise! I can’t wait to read/review and acquire this title for our location. It’s so nice to see fun unique books enter the book genre, I can imagine the women who are going to quite like this book. ;)
