I have previously read books in the “Choose Your Own Adventure Series” as an interactive game with middle graders. I was curious how a graphic novel would work in the format we “play” these stories. We read together and then make decisions as a group, often back tracking to make different decisions to see where the story would have gone with different choices.

The verdict from the middle graders was that it worked well. They loved the art and the story development, and we played through a variety of story lines to see all the different options. In that sense the experience is exactly what we were expecting, and what we enjoy from the text based “Choose Your Own Adventure Series”. The added bonus was that one of the reluctant readers was more willing to participate with the graphic novel medium.

The one challenge that we faced was that the e-copy document had slightly different page number than the book pages, which made it a bit trickier to find the right page (go to page 86 etc) and not accidentally see ahead or a different story line. I’m not sure if that is just always an added complexity of an eBook, or if that was because I had an ARC. But either way it wasn’t an insurmountable obstacle.

All in all, a book that makes for a good shared experience, we really enjoyed it.

I really like the concept of Choose Your Own Adventure books! Here this concept is in the form of a grapic novel, which I hadn't seen before. I liked the artwork and how fast the graphic novel read. I wasn't a huge fan of the topic itself and it was a bummer that many of the endings were "bad" endings. It took me a few tries to get a happy ending. Overall, I would recommend this though!

This book was a very enjoyable book to read as you choose the story and when you have read it once you will want to read it again to see what the other paths are. I didn't realize it was a graphic novel until I started reading it so that came as a pleasant surprise, it is very hard to make the right decisions though

I have always been a fan of the Choose Your Own Adventure Books as a way to hook in readers who need that little extra push to help get them enthusiastic about a book. I also love that these books can be read multiple times and are never the same. They are great for class reads and always get everyone involved. In comic form, they become even more accessible again, especially for students in the library setting here who have English as a second language. I will definitely buy titles like this for my collection.

I really liked the idea of a Choose your own adventure story. I also thought the story started out interesting, putting in some historical adventure about Stonehenge. However, I was a bit disappointed how fast I was through the book and the ending wasn't satisfying at all. I would have liked the book to be a lot longer and go further with the story instead of this ending..

First of all I don't get the title. What sort of forecast are we on about? This is a graphic novel version of an earlier CYOA book and while I've read quite a few I hadn't read the original title. I didn't love the art, but didn't mind it. I can see how it would appeal to today's youth.
The story was quite interesting and I made sure to check all the possible endings and there were probably an equal number of 'good' and 'bad', which was nice. Some were very very different and surprising, which also made the re-readability better.

The main problem I had was I was reading a pdf version so going to the correct page was quite a challenge. I'd only recommend the paper version of this unless it was a smart pdf with links.
So while I would definitely read another of these new versions I'd give the ebooks a miss.

The graphics are bright and appealing, and the story seems suspenseful, if readers coiyuld only follow it. My 4th grader grandson quickly became discouraged, and then so did I.

Absolutely loved it! Very interesting. I was not expecting how awesome Choose Your Own Adventure: Forecast From Stonehenge turned out to be. I have read a bunch of these types of books when I was a kid and this one blew them away. The visuals are great set up comic book style. It is not just a bunch of dead ends - You definitely go on adventures. Kids and adults will enjoy.

Very simple CYOA book I “played” through in less than an hour (going for ALL the bad / weird / meh endings, not just the “right” one). It’s quite fun, and well written, but has a few major drawbacks - the “right” ending isn’t a happy ending, and there are way too many “huh?” endings that feel completely gratuitous. Unless this is just the first in a series of books with the same character, which would explain things, but still make this book a frustrating one :)

As in a lot of CYOA books, there are many situations where choices seem arbitrary, and a few ones where picking up the logical solution still leads you to an unsatisfactory ending.

All in all, I liked the art more than the stories, but I guess this could be a good starting point for people that have never read any CYOA book before, so three stars seems right. Or even generous :) (remember, three stars = “good”)

This book is fun for the whole family, as well as a great way to get middle school kids to read and learn about decision making. The story line is a fun narrative that continues to change with each choice you make. The artwork is a fun and semi-cartoonish rendering for a middle school child to enjoy.

When my children read this book they have created a game of choosing which decision to make and they all take turns in reading a section of the book. Another great way to make long car rides fun, entertain children and get the next generation to enjoy reading.

As a parent I’ve found it fun to read with my kids ,and learn what adventures await for us at Stonehenge. A top star book, with fantastical art.

This is such a fun and engaging way to get kids interested in reading and history. As curriculum is moving (thankfully) increasingly towards a more engaging and less passive learning experience, this style of book will provide a perfect bridge between learning in the classroom and entertainment outside of school. The graphic novel format is increasingly popular and the illustrations are fantastic! I would recommend this to any young reader, it is a wonderful and rare book that can be enjoyed by both fans of fictional stories and nonfiction texts.

This book is so fun!! I love pick your own adventure games and this book was just awesome! I could spend forever going through all the different options and different endings. It’s so cool! I love it!! I want a million more of these books now.

I am such a big fan of CYOA books and knew as soon as I saw this one that I had to give it a try. I've used CYOA books for book clubs and even read alouds for my "big kids" when doing summer reading school visits. This book absolutely did not disappoint. It's got everything I wanted from a classic CYOA book BUT it's in graphic novel form! I can't wait to get this in the hands of so many kids.

I absolutely loved this. I’ve always been a big fan of the Choose Your Own Adventure series and have been reading them since elementary school. I’m so stoked that I received an advance copy to review! This is a quick read, and it is in a graphic novel format instead of the typical book with a few illustrations throughout. I was highly entertained while reading this, and it took me right back to my childhood. The artwork is gorgeous, and there’s lots of mythology to be found here.

My only complaint is that these types of books are a little difficult to read in a pdf format. Since there are more pages in the pdf than in the actual story, you have to make sure that you’re looking at the actual page numbers on the bottom right as you go back and forth between storylines. There are a lot of “go to the next page” options, however, and they do make it easier to keep track of what choices you make.

Overall, I highly recommend reading this lovely graphic novel, and I’m so glad to see Choose Your Own Adventure books making a comeback in this format! Please keep more titles coming!

ARC Copy...it was just as fun to read through (and with pictures!) just like the old "choose your adventures" from the days of yorn! Only did one read through (with time traveling if I got a bad ending) and can blatantly see there are multiple ways this story can go, so yep its got the re-read fun value going!

I have been a fan of the Choose Your Own Adventure books since they first appeared on the scene when I was kid growing up, so I was intrigued to see how a graphic novel would work with a choose your own adventure. It's not easy with a format that is light on text and heavy on illustration to lead folks down a path that is engaging and doesn't give too much away. Although, with these books, it was always clear which road you probably shouldn't take because things could end badly in about 70% of the choice situations.

I found that, overall, this worked well and balanced the need for story with the format of the book. Some of the choices did land you in a spot where the story didn't flow as well. In fact, a few spots made me go to an earlier page to try and figure it out. And then I realized that it was because the pagination was not aligned and that's likely because it was an ARC. Oops. Once I figured that out, though, it was much better. Again, a few spots did not quite cover the gap in the story between choice and outcome, but it was definitely not as jarring as being on the wrong page.

I did go through most of the options and choices, and while some felt repetitive, that was true to the original format for these where you would often end up with the same page if you chose wrong or went down a particular path.

The mixing of fantasy and reality was neat. And the story was kind of fun. A definite adventure. All in all, if you like the format, you'll enjoy this rendering of it.

I received this an ARC from NetGalley. I used to read 'Choose Your Own Adventure' books when I was a kid (many many years ago) so was thrilled to see the series revitalised now. This was a fun and rollicking adventure with some unexpected twists and turns. It was great fun and I loved the graphic novel vibe too - what a refreshing change!

This would suit people of all ages - the younger set who loves a good adventure and the older set (like me) who also loves a good adventure as well as a nostalgia trip.

I have always loved choose your own adventure books. I love the graphic novel format. Easy to follow. Immersive and entertaining

I loved these myself as a child and I am delighted to be able to introduce this style of books to a new audience of children. I loved the graphic novel feel of the story. The familiar choice options appear after a short section of narrative enabling you to 'choose your own' direction through the story. I loved being able to re-read the story and choose the alternative path.
I do hope there will be more.
