Thank you NetGalley and Cameron Publicity & Marketing for this ARC of The Big Shot Trader.

Overall I would say I have a love hate relationship with Kerpal. He was fine and real and relatable at first but then also annoying in some parts. It was an entertaining book and I did end up rooting for him in and out of the trading room. By the end the book did leave me with a few questions about why were some characters introduced. It did end up showing a different dimension of a big shot trader and it worked out pretty well.

We follow Kerpal, a trader in the toxic environment that is his work place.
The book is fairly detailed still I don’t really understand more about trading than before I started this book.
Besides the toxic masculinity aspect and the reckless nature of the work, we still don’t get to learn more about it, and so it’s a bit of a tough read at times. We get details, but not pertinent ones.
The pacing is very slow.
Most of the book takes place a while ago, but then some chapters jump into the now, which makes for confusing reading.
I’m not quite sure who this book is for, but unfortunately it wasn’t for me. I found the characters deeply unlikeable and the character arcs lacking.

This was a good book. I enjoyed reading it. I think a lot of people would enjoy it. Even kids would get a great deal out of this one.
