This is the third book in the Billie Carlson series but is the first book that I’ve read. If you haven’t read the first two books you can easily read this book but I’m sure like me you’ll enjoy it so much that you will go straight to the other two books to catch up. This was a fast paced gritty read with lots of action. It ends on a cliffhanger making me want book four to hurry up and arrive. I think it’s out in April and I can’t wait.

Illegal immigrants, drug dealing, prostitutes. Albanian crime gangs are in control of everything in Glasgow. On the other side is crime investigator Billy, vulnerable woman with own problems but not afraid taking risks trying to save under aged prostitutes from exploitation.

Last seen is the 4th book in the series, this book takes you on a journey which could end anywhere. Strap yourself in and be prepared for the ride.

I could not put this book down, this book delves into child prostitution and people trafficking. I have to say I found this a hard read because of the subject matter, but I still couldn’t put it down

Anna smith is a fantastic writer and the other books are so good too

You won’t be disappointed

Thank you to #netgallery #ARC books for letting me read this

Last Seen by Anna Smith is the fourth book in the Billie Carson series
and it was a brilliant, gritty, unputdownable crime thriller set in Glasgow and I was hooked from the very first few pages till the end, just like the other books within this series.
I can't recommend these books enough and a perfect series to get your teeth into, especially for your coming holidays or for your day off relaxing! But once you open your kindle or book you will be hooked and you will find it hard to put down! all your plans for that day will be out of the window!!! So enjoy the latest instalment of Billie Carsons who is a private investigator.

I’d like to thank Quercus Books and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘Last Seen’, the third in the PI Billie Carson series written by Anna Smith, in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Omar is living in Glasgow illegally and contacts Private Investigator Billie Carlson rather than the police as his younger brother Carim has been charged with killing two criminals who are trafficking and selling young girls including their little sister Mina. Now that Billie has her young son Lucas back home with her in Glasgow her priority is caring for him but when she hears the reason why Carim stabbed the men to death she wants to help as their young sister Mina has been abducted.

‘Last Seen’ is a fast-paced and totally gripping thriller that kept me so involved I read it in one day leaving the housework for tomorrow. The character of Billie is brilliant as she works with both police officers and those who may not be on the right side of the law, Danny Scanlon who’s smitten with her, and the wonderful Millie, office manager, friend and babysitter rolled into one. There’s so much tension, suspense, drama and nail-biting twists and turns that when I reached the end I breathed a sigh of relief as I thought the story was over and Billie had beaten the criminals, but then there’s the cliffhanger and I don’t think I can wait for the fourth in the series to find out what’s coming next for Billie. Thank you, Anna, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this thriller and would willingly give it more than five stars if I could.

The third book in the PI. Billie Carson series. After rescuing her son from the usa, when her ex husband had took off with him. Billie is still taking on clients and when a boy named Omar pleads with Billie to look for his sister, after she was taken in a minibus with other women. Billie takes on the case. Someone is watching Billie but who and why??.
The author writes very sensitivitely with the subject around human trafficking and in parts its not an easy subject to read about. Will Billie and the others find out what is going on? Billie also accepts the help of a gangster which doesnt put her on the right side of the law..... she needs help and needs must..... This is great lots of twists, fast paced, i was engrossed from the first page till the last. Highleyrecommend.

This was another thrilling read in the Billie Carlson series, one I highly recommend and one of my favourites. Billie has been successful in her search for Lucas, her missing son, and life is slowly getting back to normality for her. I like the characterisation, it's well described and with excellent development. The plotting is very topical, illegal migrants, and I love that it is set in Glasgow. The pacing is fast throughout, making this another 5* read from the author. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

Once again, Anna Smith, has blown me away. There is no doubt that she is an outstanding storyteller and this series really does tick all the boxes for me. From a tension filled plot, with all the twists and thrills that had my stomach lurching and my brain ticking but she also has the knack of creating a cast of characters who just step out of the pages and into my life.
Billie Carlson, is ex police turned Private Investigator. She has not had her troubles to seek in the past, her ex husband snatched her young son and after years of pursuing him, she has finally got him home back in Glasgow. Life is sweet – or is it? Because, if you know Billie, then you will know that trouble just loves to come knocking at her door. There is something compelling about the character Anna Smith has created with Billie, yes, she has her demons but this never feels like an over used trope,. I don’t know what it is but Anna brings something fresh to her characters, she really fills in all the fine details creating someone you will start to believe is real. Billie draws out all the emotions in me, I cry with her and I laugh with her, I get frustrated at her and I am rooting for her every step of the way.
In Last Seen, she is caught up in a case that touches on slum landlords, human trafficking and child prostitution; she peels back the layers of a dark underbelly of society that is happening around us every single day. And for readers who know Glasgow, Last Seen, really burrows down deep into what many of us know and suspect, is happening every single day on our streets. It’s brutal and it’s harrowing but it really pokes you hard and makes you think.
And Glasgow, oh my goodness Anna Smith brings my city to life. It is impossible not to be taken on a journey through the dear green place when you open this book, I swear I see every scene play out before my eyes as I read. And I’m convinced that if I go to Blytheswood Square, then I’m going to bump into Billie! And, if you don’t know Glasgow, then you will by the time you have finished Anna’s books!
Last Seen is a belter of a read, it ticks all the boxes in terms of plot, pace, character and sense of place. It evokes all the emotions and it will leave you a little bit battered and bruised but completely satisfied at the same time. Do not miss it!

But trouble seems to have a way of tracking her down . . .
Anna Smith’s Private Investigator Billie Carlson is back and I couldn’t be more delighted! In true Billie style, she gets ready to take on a dangerous new case in this exciting new instalment of the series. This is book 3 and I would really recommend you read the previous two books of this edge-of-your seat Glasgow-set crime thriller mainly for Billie’s back story with Lucas and Scanlon, but also as they are really good books.
This book delves into the worldwide business of human trafficking, drugs and prostitution. From Peers of the government, Albanian mafia, slum landlords and underage innocents this book has then all plus more. Action packed with a good solid story as well as Billie’s own personal narrative makes this book A1!
The ending is well executed with a set up for book 4.

Last Seen is the fourth instalment in the Billie Carson series and wow it's a blinking good read! Billie Carson is an ex Police Officer now a Private Investigator who gets very emotionally involved in the cases that she takes on and she's no different in Last Seen.

Last Seen delves into the world of people trafficking, child prostitution and murder. It tells the story of the lengths that the traffickers will go to to earn money off the backs (literally and figuratively) of young desperate children who come here for the chance at a better life. It also tells us the story of what a brothers love will lead him do for his lost sibling.

Billie takes a call from a young man asking for her help, not for himself but for his younger brother who is facing a double murder charge, after meeting Omar and listening to his story Billie knows that she will help if she can. As we all know no case that Billie takes on is going to be cut and dried, but she isn't keen on getting caught up in dangerous situations now, especially now she finally has her son back.

One of the things that I like about Anna Smiths work is that whichever topics that she writes about are well researched and well written. The topic in Last Seen is is hugely relevant at the moment, one that divides communities, even families. Men, women and children risking their lives travelling many miles being exploited out of huge sums of money to travel in unsafe boats to try and get safety.

Thanks to the Author, Quercus Books and Netgalley for the ARC. All opinions are mine and mine alone.

Yet again a great book in this series! After the cliffhanger of the last book, I was pleased that this one started, the way I had hoped! There are some Human Trafficking in this story but this unfortunately does happen and I think it's good to hi-light these things!
Thank you for allowing me to read and ARC of the book.
Brilliant, gripping and more..

Another fantastic installment in this brilliant series of books. The story starts right where the last book left off, Billie's son is safe at home where he belongs and things are starting to feel normal again for her, that is until she takes on a case that really touches a nerve , a case that involves young girls being trafficked and sold. As always a really gritty, twisty book and I am looking forward to what may happen next!

This was my 1st reading this story and i can't believe I've been missing out all this time. Good paving, an engaging plot and characters that are perfectly brought to life. I think i would definitely have benefitted from knowing the backatories but it was still really enjoyable as a stand alone and I shall very soon be getting better acquainted with everyone! Can't wait to get completely lost in this series. I hope they're all as well written as this one is

PI Billie Carlson takes on a thrilling new case in the next instalment of this gripping series.

Back in the world of PI Billie Carlson. Things seem to be looking up for Billie, things seem to be getting back on track and life is treating her a little better.

Set in Glasgow Billie Carlson is a PI, She takes on some tough cases and always gets results. Her next case is going to be tougher still. Billie will have her work cut out to get to the bottom of a stabbing.
Another interesting and thrilling read from a phenomenal story writer. Anna Smith packs everything she can into her books and as always we are given a first class read.
