The war is nearly over but the girls from Cornwall still have work to do and lives to lead. This is the last book in this series and I would recommend reading all six books in order if you are able so you can follow the girls and their lives in Cornwall. 5 stars.

Thanks to Netgalley, author and publisher for this ARC

Friendship, loyalty, and compassion always follows when the Cornish girls are around. I love this series as it follows lives of young women in Cornwall during World War II.

The struggles, the triumphs, and reality of life and war is well written and takes you to Cornwall in the 1940s. Each entry feels like a visit with friends and I cannot wait for the next entry after finishing the one I’ve just read.

This is book number 6 in The Cornish Girls series.
It takes ne a few chapters to remember who everyone is and what they did in the previous book.
There's heartache for Alice during her spy training and she decides to undertake a different kind of work helping her country.
Imogen is asked to follow certain people and report if she has evidence that they are spies. What happens if she's attracted to the person she should be watching?

The battalions who have been based in Cornwall are preparing to leave for D Day across in France. Will this bring the end of the war ? And how many soldiers will loose their lives and never return?

American,Pearl who came to Cornwall, with a dance troop is let down in a horrible way but decides to stay and find another job or help in the war effort.

What a good read. It was great to be back with these women once again as they head towards the end of the war. All have hopes for a better future,a future that will bring back the men they love who have been away for so long.

This book series has been an absolute balm to my soul and the fact we’ve had six in this amazing series is a true gift! Getting to follow our main cast of characters and new faces throughout the duration of the war in all of these books culminating up to this one, makes every new instalment an exciting addition.

I’ve always loved Alice and her progression throughout the books and getting to join her again and now training as code breaker almost feels like coming full circle. She’s rapidly become one of my favs and seeing all our familiar faces get married, having babies and finding love was great. - a true heart warmer.

They’re still in the thick of war, with uncertainty, turmoil and challenges ahead but life in Porthcurno goes on. There’s tasks to uncover spies ahead, D-Day approaching and then the rumblings that after all this time, war could be over…

Not exaggerating when I say The Cornish Girls have been one of my favourite wartime series of all time and both starting and ending the war with them over the years has been a true joy to read.

What joy to read the 6th book in the Cornish Girls series and it didn’t disappoint. As war is heading towards the final part Alice returns to Cornwall from London and Penny, Florence, Immi and Pearl plus the residents of the guest house have their own adventures in Bude. Best to read the novels in order. Thanks to Betty and her publisher. Thanks also to NetGalley

Book six in the series. The characters are all now like old friends with whom you are catching up with.

I was slightly disappointed that the book quickly covered the remainder of the war. From D-Day to the end of the war seems such a long and important piece of history to be covered in just half a book.

There were lots of twists and turns to keep the reader engaged. Pieces of happiness mixed with sad and emotional times.

As the war has ended I do wonder if there will be more or if this is the end of the series?

Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers and author for allowing me to read and review this Arc copy.

Although this is book six in the series, you don’t have to have read the others for this one to make sense, although it will enhance your enjoyment if you do.

Book six is set in Cornwall 1944. Alice, forced away from her spy training in London, finds a new purpose in a local branch of codebreakers, while Imogen feels helpless to help her fiancé, and American Pearl is jilted by her young soldier love.

In times of war, the Cornish girls learn to rely on each other through times of heartbreak, trial, and victory.

I have enjoyed this entire series and can’t wait for the next book. I love the themes of friendship and belonging that this series uses, and the English side of me loves revisiting places I adore.

The beauty of this series is that it just keeps giving!
Already a big family who have found room for evacuees, they welcome Dr Tyson and his children Clara and Toby who have come to board at Ocean View. Alice meanwhile is working undercover in London where her job puts her in danger. There are some wonderful characters, my favourite being Pearl who seems able to turn her hand to most jobs. The intriguing Mr Townsend!
I laughed out loud at the baby’s description. The saddest part was when I got to the end, I have thought about it since.
