The way this book had me drooling over the recipes!
I really loved the art style in here - it worked so well for illustrating the drinks.
I thought this was really well laid out, with the history of boba, as well as breakdowns of what equipment you need, different teas and milk substitutes etc and then the recipes.
I would love to have a physical copy of this and use it to make my own bubble tea at home (without a kit!)

I really enjoyed reading through these recipes and will definitely be trying some soon! The cute kawaii illustrations were fun to look at too. Overall it was fairly short and simple. I wish it had gone into more story about the business and business owners. And had some recipes that were more difficult as I enjoy cookbooks with a range of difficulties in recipes.

The cookbook was surprisingly informative regarding different kinds of boba, though they keep it short and sweet to not bore readers. I also appreciate how they foster creativity in their readers, giving some building blocks and encouraging readers to try their own variations.

I will start off by saying I LOVE bubble tea. I had a run of obsession with the drink where I (no lie) made it for several months straight. Not every cup was perfect; there was A LOT of trial and error. I only say this because I wish I had this book handy during that period of time.
Where do I start?
This was a great guide for appreciators of bubble tea. I truly commend the authors in their obvious passion for bubble tea. Their recipes are incredibly logical and walk you patiently through every aspect of the drink. This book is made for beginners and connoisseurs alike. There is great appreciation exhibited within the depth and wealth of knowledge provided. By the end, you are well equipped to make drinks with any form of ingredient you have on hand, from tapioca flour to fruit to store bought boba. Not only are you guided through making different refreshers and milk tea but you are given the option to make jams and syrups FROM SCRATCH. Furthermore, there are SO many drink ideas provided to try.
Finally, the illustrations were also ABSOLUTELY adorable. They are peppered all throughout the cookbook. I love how almost every drink/topping/syrup was accompanied by its cute sidekick.
I would highly recommend this guide for anyone who is even remotely into bubble tea.
Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for providing me with a copy of this book in change for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I mostly wanted to read this one because it looked cute. The illustrations are definitely cute! I haven't tried any of the recipes, but they look good. I liked that they also included background info about boba.

For boba lovers like myself, Stacey Kwong and Beyah del Mundo's "Kawaii Café Bubble Tea" is a lovely exploration of handmade boba that combines creativity and practicality. They personalise the book by sharing their MILK+T experiences, connecting with readers.
The book's thorough technique to making boba from scratch was my favourite. The writers cover everything from preparing excellent tea to tapioca pearls, jams, syrups, and garnishes. Fun, colourful pictures for each dish make the book extremely attractive.
since a boba lover, I worried about using powders in recipes, since some businesses prioritise convenience above quality. To my relief, the writers avoided this tendency and used all-natural ingredients to make true, high-quality boba.
The sweetness levels for each recipe are thoughtfully flexible, accommodating a range of tastes. Some readers may find tea and slushie recipes complicated, although the directions are simple.
The tiny but important usage of metric and imperial measures makes recipes accessible to a larger audience.
In conclusion, "Kawaii Café Bubble Tea" is a great resource for making boba at home. The book's user-friendliness, variety of recipes, and beautiful style make it a must-have for affordable and imaginative bubble tea cravings for home chefs of all levels.

This book goes over and explains the importance of various types of teas, boba, tea bases, syrups, jams, toppings, and even ice! I am a boba tea ADDICT!! It’s seriously my favorite drink ever!! So when I saw this cute graphic novel that was all about boba, or bubble tea, I knew I had to check it out.
This adorable cookbook has fun, cute illustrations, and the colors are bright and with a soft palette that gives it a cozy feeling. Visually, it’s very appealing.
This book doesn’t just give a ton of recipes, it also explores the origin of boba, provides tea basics, like what equipment to use, fun facts, basic information about the tea and boba, along with how to brew green and black tea and information about syrups and bases of the drink. The recipes consist of a variety of fruit teas, including recipes for different jams, homemade fruit syrups, and fruit tea with boba. Then, you’ll find recipes for classic milk teas with boba. And finally, recipes for toppings to add to your drinks.
It’s very easy to read and follow along. It’s not as thorough with some information as other graphic cookbooks that I’ve read, but there’s still a ton of information and recipes to enjoy. All of the ingredients and equipment are very accessible so it doesn’t feel like you can’t make these recipes at home. It doesn’t require anything that you can’t find near where you live.
If you are a boba tea lover and you enjoy making your own drinks, then you absolutely must pick up this colorful graphic cookbook. Definitely recommend!!
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review. These are my own thoughts and opinions.

Thakn you Quarto Publishing Group for the ARC!
Talk about the perfect Christmas gift for all my boba lovers and maybe my ABGs out there lol. This was so cute and VERY detailed. I was expecting a few cute illustrations with basic recipes BUT nope. This book went above and beyond - my fave is definitely the fruit tea section. <3

What a cute book! The recipes are extremely helpful, and we'll written. The art is so adorable, mg daughter loved it! I like the various options given at the beginning, and most of the recipes seem like ones we will enjoy.
Thank you!

It's a fun book definitely for anyone interested in making boba tea and knowing more about the process and everything you can add to tea. I didn't know tea drinks could be so versatile.

Netgalley review
It's hard to rate a recipe book I feel, especially if you haven't tried any of the recipes yet but it's the first one I've read front to back so I give it that.
The illustrations are absolutely adorable, they fit the vibe of the book and overall help the viewer get a glimpse into the recipes without photos being involved. I've read recipe books before without pictures, not even illustrations or anything, it's hard to not have any sort of visual to what you're making so I feel the illustrations help market the recipes in a convincing way, making you want to try them as soon as possible.
The little snippets of stories don't bother me, I'm not a fan of long anecdotes slapped randomly into online recipes that go on for pages so I think the small quick inputs make it feel personal but doesn't take away that it's still a recipe book.
As soon as I have free time, I am 100% trying some of these recipes with my family. They're all so easily understandable and accessible to make. I appreciate them willing to share ingredients and full recipes to drinks that they sell, I'm a big believer in knowledge sharing.
I thank the authors and netgalley for giving me the chance to read and review this book.

I absolutely love this bubble tea book, with it's delicious recipes and adorable illustrations it is a must have for anyone who would like to make this sweet treat at home. This book walks you through the equipment you will need to get started, how to brew your tea, and even make your own fresh boba. I can't wait to try every recipe but so far my favorites are the Baby Bug, Strawberry Coconut Milk, and the Taro + Ube Almond Milk. I will definitely be picking up a copy for myself as well as some for gifts.

I love the drawings! The artwork is amazing.
The drinks are also great! The recipies are easy to follow, though some of the materials may be hard to find.

This is an absolute hit!
I initially downloaded this book because it was cute (and it absolutely is) however it is so much more.
This is a legitimate recipe book. Let me explain. The bubble tea recipes are presented in ways that are visually appealing but the ingredients used are explained as well. This book goes beyond bubble tea. There's desserts, hot teas, refreshers and more. There's room and opportunity to be creative because the author has explained the recipes in detail. I'm lactose intolerant and there are plenty of options and substitutes for me.
On a personal note the dedication was beautiful. I know your parents are incredibly proud.
Thank you Stacey Kwong, Beyah del Mundo and Netgallery for allowing me to read this book. My daughter and I love it!

This is a cute book! There's recipes on how to make your own bubble tea including fillings, tea base, syrups, and jams. The teas have cute colorful drawings that go with them so there are no pictures. It's a fun recipe book if you enjoy bubble tea!

Simple, easy to follow instructions for making all things bubble tea, including flavored syrups, jams, and boba.

Do you have a bubble tea lover at home? or do you know anyone obsessed with this drink? Yeah, I have one of those at home. a tween who would trade almost anything for a visit to a boba tea place. This book made her day. no, it made her week. Maybe even made her month.
It tells what makes bubble tea, how to make it, and explains everything step by step and in great detail, and in a very easy-to-understand way. Also, there are absolutely adorable drawings.
