A fun fantasy romance following a ‘vampire’ and a ‘werewolf’ - following the enemies to lovers trope and a few other Ali Hazelwood classic details, this book was an easy read and perfect for any romantasy fan.

It's an amazing feeling to fall back into an Ali Hazelwood romance book. It takes almost no effort to get hooked by the story and to fall in love with the characters. Bride was no exception. I loved this book and devoured it in a day. I do think the balance between fantasy and romance is what lets this book down.

The balance between the worldbuilding, the mystery plot line and the romance plot felt a bit unbalanced. I wish we spent more time with the characters doing activities that strengthened their connection and made their feelings stronger. That was mainly taken up by the 'I have to find Serena' plot and the political intrigue Hazelwood was trying to construct.

Overall, I loved this book so much and I would die for Lowe Moreland and Ana (and Sparkles). This is a book that is so easy to recommend to both lovers of contemporary romance and romantasy.

This was a fun read that followed Hazelwood's typical style with a strong female that falls in love with her 'nemesis'.

It was a bit stilted in places and sometimes felt like she was throwing new lore at you from out of nowhere but I wasn't seeing the plot twist at the end coming.

I would definitely read the next book if there is one

This book is full of surprises. From the cover I expected something sinister and dark, so at first I was put off by it being full of dry humor and a modern take on vampires and werewolves. But this is exactly what made me love it in the end. The main character doesn't take herself seriously, which is very refreshing. The story itself is exciting, fun and romantic. Absolutely recommend!

My first read by this author, but really enjoyed this story, not my usual genre but a well written story and well developed characters.

It was okay, not great. Have read better books from Ali. It was also very sloooow. Did have some nice things though, so kept reading. And did like the twist on the last page. That would be a reason to read an eventual next book, but hopefully that would be less slow.

I don't even know how to review this. I generally read this author for the romance and that's it, the kind of book when I'm not too bothered about plot and just want something light and fluffy.
This was kiiiiiiiiinda like that but if the author was writing a livejournal fanfic about twilight. It's a bit of a -deprture- from her other works, but it was fun. weird, definitely not groundbreaking from a literature perspective, but not terrible.

I will read anything Ali Hazelwood writes and even though I don’t often pick fantasy/paranormal romances I wanted to try this and I was NOT disappointed. It has Ali’s trademark humour, I loved the way she built the customs, rituals and worlds of the different species, and their rifts. It was dramatic and compelling, sweet and incredibly romantic, and also super spicy. I’m so glad I read it, and will continue to devour 🐺 anything Ali writes.

A great romance book, I really enjoyed the fantasy/romance vibes and loved the romance tropes, I found the knotting aspect different but refreshing! Thank you net galley for the review copy!

Very different themes than other Ali hazelwood books, which I enjoy with my science uni background. I enjoyed the lightness of the storyline, didn’t take itself too seriously compared to other fantasy novels.

After I finished Love Hypothesis I vowed to read anything Ali Hazelwood would write, and apparently that means a werewolf romance. I didn't hate it and it had all the usual Hazelwood quip and charm, I just don't think it was for me. I did love seeing her world building and really enjoyed the writing style.
Thank you to Sphere for an early copy of this!

I really enjoyed this book, it wasn't over complicated or too descriptive like some of the books in this genre can be.

I read it in two sittings and that was only because I had to go to work in-between.

I enjoyed the Love Hypothesis and will continue to read the books that Ali releases.

4/5 stars and would recommend it for anyone looking for a good romantacy book to read.

Thank you net galled for this ARC.

I just reviewed Bride by Ali Hazelwood. #Bride #NetGalley

hether it be because of the genre shift or the fact i’ve DNFed my last few Ali Hazelwood books, i did not have the highest of hopes for Bride. So imagine my surprise when I devoured this book in less than 24hrs! Was it the best monster romance ever? no. But this was such a switch up from her usual and had me so entertained.

Can’t wait for the next one!

This one is for all the obsessed who spent an immeasurable amount of their downtime reading all the AO3/Tumblr Reylo, Bedward, Jella, Delena and any other smutty fanfic pairings I’ve forgotten over the years… I feel ten years younger reading this book. That is what Bride will do for you - it might not give you back ten years, but JEY-SUS you will think it did, even for a little while. On that front, Bride was deeply nostalgic for me, and I cannot thank Ali Hazelwood enough for that. I genuinely felt like I did as a teenager discovering smut and paranormal romance for the first time again reading this.

We have delicious tropes. A forced marriage of convenience, forced proximity and enemies to lovers. Our heroine is a sassy grump and our hero (*cough*, or should I say alpha?, *cough*) is a hunky sweetheart. Yum, yum, yum - all the ingredients for a to-die-for treat!

There's a mystery, mixing of the species drama and werepack territory drama. The worldbuilding crafted by Hazelwood was really vivid and enjoyable. It neither dominated nor underwhelmed; it was done just right for me. There are a few side plots going alongside the romance, which bulked the book up and served intrigue when the romance was building and offered up other interesting characters, to the point the ending of Bride suggests a spin-off may be in the works. I'll keep my eyes peeled for that!

The climax of the book is packed plot twists, conflict and betrayal. Hazelwood followed the formula of having a break-up style conflict between Misery and Lowe toward the end, which just felt unnecessary and not as well done as it could be on this occasion. It definitely detracted from my overall enjoyment of the book.

All in all, Bride is a supernatural mild spice romance that is a must read for the girlies wanting to revisit their fanfic era. That's it - that's the selling point - plain and simple. It's a fun and sexy feast that will leave readers wishing they themselves had their own vampyre or werewolf lover.

P.s. this may just be my favourite cover of the Aliverse yet!
P.s.s. if my review reads a little cringey, that's just a testament to how much of a fangirl I am for this one!

Bride by Ali Hazelwood is an addictive paranormal enemies-to-lovers romance. Following an arranged marriage between a Vampire bride and an Alpha Werewolf. Filled with political intrigue, a steamy romance and a compelling mystery. Fans of Ali Hazlewood are sure to love this book.

The lore around the conflict between the Vampires and Werewolves is interesting and explored well. Misery, the main character, is an entertaining and unique perspective to read from. The side characters were also well-developed and added to the plot. However, I wish there was more romantic tension and build-up between the two main characters.

My first Ali Hazelwood book didn’t disappoint! I love a paranormal romance and really enjoyed this one. Whilst I did find a few plot-points to be predicable and a bit cheesy, it was completely fitting to the story-line and I had a lot of fun trying to figure out who the real 'big bad' was.

It was a really fun read, the lore and world building made it easy to follow and I really enjoyed both Misery and Lowe’s characters.

This did not read like an Ali Hazelwood book at all and I normally love a bit of the paranormal. It took me forever to get through when I can normally get through her books in a couple of days.

It was just a chore to read and really disappointing. I had no idea what was going on most of the time. The world building seemed really flimsy and the were-vampire rivalry felt like it had a very shallow foundation.

The mates/not mates thing was confusing and unnecessary.

Why is the MC called Misery when her twin brother is called Owen and literally every other character has a normal name.

The logistics of Lowe and Misery being together in the end seem impractical and not very happily-ever-after. Wondering how they’ll have time for each other when she can’t even leave the house during the day and he’s got were business to handle during the daytime.

The only thing I liked was the quick revelation at the end that Koen and Serena are mates.

Overall it was just horribly cringe but I live laugh love Ali Hazelwood and it will never stop me reading the rest of her books.

Proving Ali Hazelwood can write any genre this paranormal romance was brilliant. It had a compelling story and insatiable characters. I adored the romance so much, it has enemies to lovers, forced proximity, touch her you die.

The spice in this was knot my cup of tea #iykyk but I am here for the romance!

A really fun read.
I much preferred this to Ali’s contemporary romances (I do enjoy them too though!).
The characters were loveable, the plot was interesting. No real notes I loved it!

Loved this all the way through, solely deducting half a ⭐ for that one chapter with that very long monologue from the father because omg did that drag on

Other than that it was 🧑🏻‍🍳💋
Ali Hazelwood (almost) can't do anything wrong in my book 🙌🏻
I'm even okay with her making the lead character unable to tell the difference between Art Deco and Gothic (like what the fuck, how) despite it hurting just a biiiiiiit (ok, a lot)

4.5⭐
