An interesting read and very easy to follow and understand.

Lots of scientific information and explanations but still easy to understand. Some ideas are broken down very simplistically and are easy to recite back to yourself when a little extra support is needed.

Some great ideas that really make you think and help you to understand more about your own mental health and how to take steps to help yourself.

I honestly couldnt finish it. It says its a self-help book but doesn't do much to actually help, just throws out a lot of information on why you get in that "trap" and how to get out...but more like:
"the exit is that way."
"which way is that?"
"Oh you have to figure that out yourself."

It was clinical and not ver personal to whoever was reading. Just generic findings from research.

It is difficult to find books that aren’t patronising when it comes to self help, at least for me. Siri does a great job avoiding that and I really appreciate that about this book! I’ve been in a real rut lately so this book was aptly timed when it came into my life. Im definitely going to read it again soon and work through it in more detail this time, but what stuck out was the structure as it worked well for my little neurodiverse brain!

Did you know your thoughts, feelings and behaviour are all connected and influence each other? No neither did I until I read Siri Helle's The Emotion Trap.

Basically she explains that if we improve one, the other two follow! Who knew right?! And the easiest one to improve is our thoughts.

Siri explains her points and reasoning in relatively short paragraphs, whivh I found easy to digest, there are also exercises and questions to consider to help you improve yourself. These are easy to understand too, if not entirely easy to be honest with yourself!! Well worth doing though.

If your stuck in a rut, feeling low or just unmotivated I definitely recommend this book

There is so much info in this book! There is so much to take away!
It's broken down into chapters, and then questions within each chapter. This stops the book from being overwhelming. Super easy to digest - and no big scientific words!

Really enjoyed this, and there's so much to take away - I want to buy this on audiobook so I can revisit it again and dip in and out.
