This is a picture book description of a visit by aliens. The illustrations are pleasing aesthetically , and offer detail that will appeal to youngsters. The message is one of acceptance and kindness (although I find the last line about Europe ambiguous; it sounds like Europeans aren't kind) For some reason, Mr. and Mrs. Li repeatedly say "y'all," which I thought was jarring and unnecessary. Fans of Space Case by Edward and James Marshall will find the story familiar.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Random House Canada, Tundra Books for this DRC.
Mr. Li finds three strangers crashed in a field. He’s a good person so he takes them in. They firmly state, “We are definitely Human.” Everyone in the town comes to help aid the visitors with kindness and joy.
I loved X. Fang’s first picture book and this one is beautiful, too. At first glance the color palette is so different, but X. Fang’s gentleness shines through. The art is beautiful and the story is too.

After their spaceship crashes, three strangers arrive who claim they are "definitely human", and in need of help. Kindness and community means that people rally round to help, in this beautifully illustrated picture book. The details in the artwork, and the message of kindness and empathy means we will definitely be reading this one more than once.

This story is about some aliens that need help to fix their spaceship to return home. They seem to be wary of humans and try to convince others that they are also human so that they may get some help. I love the message of inclusion and kindness.

The quirky humor and goofy pictures are sure to bring out the giggles in young readers. I hope to see more picture books that present this deadpan kind of humor into children’s literature.
