I was sent the ARC of 'All the Devils' thanks to Netgalley, Michael Joseph, and Penguin Random House in exchange for an honest review.
The story begins with a devastated Andy who recently lost her older sister Violet. But at Violet's funeral, Andy notices that the body in the casket is not her sister. Is Violet still alive? Andy is determined to find out, starting at the place where Violet was killed. So Andy enrols herself in the last place that Violet was seen alive. There, Andy must follow clues and overcome challenges to locate her missing sister.
However, something dark and sinister is occurring at this school. With the help of the dashing young Jae, can Andy use her wits and be brave enough to face the darkness and save her sister before it's too late?
Wow! What a harrowing and atmospheric read! I really enjoyed the dark historical theming portrayed in this book (I won't say what because you know. .spoilers).
I enjoyed following Andy's journey as she and the mysterious Jae were looking for clues whilst facing many dangers. The anticipation and atmosphere had me hungering for more.
Though, I'm not going to lie, I struggled to connect with Andy's character at first and wasn't really sympathising or rooting for her. However, that slowly changed as her character development was being slowly manifested. By the end, I found I was starting to like her character, but not enough development was shown for me to love her.
I noticed that there were a lot of conveniences in this book and not enough answers. But hopefully this will be rectified in the next book (if there hopefully is one after that ending) because I am very intrigued to see what Andy will have to face and overcome.

Dark Academia is my jam and this book sits up there amongst Babel and The Atlas Six for me.
Gripping and beautifully written. I do think a slight go over one last time with an editor to polish up some bits would be beneficial but nothing that hindered my experience with this breathtakingly gorgeous novel.
Character is clearly the authors strong suit cause I loved all of them.

It was a thrilling ride that made my heart pound.
I haven’t read that much dark academia before, but after reading all the devils - I definitely need to read more in this category.
Andy goes above and beyond to try and make sense of why she’s the only one who thinks Violet’s still alive. I’d also go to great lengths for my sister.
Jae..his character was so complex, so mysterious that I can’t help but say I think he was my favourite character, alongside Amenemopet 😄
The underworld aspect had me gripped. Whenever it hit those parts, there was always something mind-boggling happening.
I’d definitely say to find all the devils when it releases.
And I’m really looking forward to a sequel, if there is going to be one?!

Dark and twisty with plenty of peril. Demons and gods, magic and sacrifice. A dark Academia books with loads of fantasy bedded it.
Well drawn characters with a well-drawn plot. Loved Anubis, loved the death guide we meet in the underworld that helps Andy. Found Andy a bit wet, and frustrated that Violet doesn’t learn from what happens. Didn’t love the Greene twist which needed far more explanation and left a few earlier scenes unexplained.
It’s a decent book and I’d read a sequel. People will find it fun I think. But not quite perfect for me - could do with an editor’s eye pre-publication.

All The Devils is a lush Dark Academia YA story that focuses around FMC Andy, who enrols at her sisters private school to investigate the suspicious circumstances around her sisters death. This takes her on an exhilarating journey into realms of secret societies, magic and monsters.
I greatly enjoyed this book. @catelyn_writes has an impeccable ability to create rich, immersive, engaging worlds. The plot twists and character development throughout this story were outstanding, and the story itself will have you gripping the edge of your seat with fear and thorough intrigue. Fans of leigh bardugo will devour this series, strong ninth house vibes, and you will never again view moths in the same light!
The ending has very much been left open to a potential second book, and I'm desperately hoping this is the case.
Very Highly recommend this read.

The concept and the temporary cover art drew me in! I love mysteries, boarding schools, and paranormal elements, and this book certainly checked all of those boxes.
Unfortunately, I didn't manage to connect with either the main character (I didn't feel like I knew much about her, other than her love for her sister) or the prose (found it to be too descriptive, which came across as overly dramatic at points, and it's just not my cup of tea). As such, I ended up DNFing at 37%.
However, this is just my experience, and I'm sure many other lovers of the genre will enjoy this one! Just couldn't get over my pet peeves...
I will be rating it 3* on NetGalley as I have to add a star rating in order to send my review, and I don't want to be unfair to the book as I haven't read it all. On Goodreads, it will just be marked as "dnf" so as not to affect its rating.

I really enjoyed this dark academia mystery! It gave me Gothikana meets Wednesday vibes with the boarding school setting and ongoing mystery. I loved The witchcraft/Occult plot and thought the twists were fresh and unexpected! I loved the academic Art History themes and was hooked throughout! Fast paced and on trend, a big fan!

OBSESSED.
Dark academic? Witchy vibes? Art history? Sprinkle of romance? All a recipe for a 5⭐️ read in my opinion. The characters and the scenery were all exquisitely, especially when we went to the Underworld. The twists just kept coming when it came to Jae and I spent a good deal of time picking my jaw up off the floor. The ending gave me hope for a sequel!
I HIGHLY recommend adding this to your tbr.

While investigating the death of her sister Andy discovers a complex history of secret societies and the occult at her school.
I really enjoyed this. The characters have depth and the story is satisfying - I particularly liked the underworld and its inhabitants. Really hoping there’s a sequel!

I didn't think I was one for Dark academia but All The Devils has proved that wrong as I felt immediately hooked by the story!

I don't know how else to start this other than saying oh my God??!! This book absolutely gripped the life out of me, I was completely hooked from the very beginning. I thought about it while I was at work or before I fell asleep at night, just wanting to keep reading. Very few books do that to me, but this was stunning.
The plot was amazing, it was a gorgeous mixture of A Good Girl's Guide To Murder (Holly Jackson) meets Wednesday (Netflix series). The characters are both lovable and hateable which always make a book so much more fun. I didn't expect any of the twists which made it so exciting. The world-building was at a medium pace where we learnt along with the main character which made it so much easier to understand.
The ending was great and also very open, which I'm praying means there's going to be a second book? I definitely would love to see more Andy and Jae's development after all of the events that had happened to them
Also, beautiful cover.
4.5/5 stars!!

this is such an ominously dark and intriguing dark academia novel! the premise takes the traditional dark academia setting but Wilson makes it her own through Andy’s riveting characterisation and her obsessive devotion to her missing sister.
so many twists and turns with the classic markers of the genre that we all love! Wilson doesn’t rely on the framework of the genre to do the work for her, but instead focuses her attention on our main character Andy who is full of guilt, grief and determination. she was such a phenomenal and fascinating heroine, the backbone and shining star of the story. i hope we get more by Wilson in this world in the future! so refreshing and intelligent :)

I have read almost every dark academia or dark academia adjacent book and All The Devils was SOOO refreshing. The romance, the storyline, the plot. I practically devoured it! Wilson is now on my auto buy list. Can’t wait to see what else she comes out with.

All the devils is a dark academia fantasy set at an elite boarding school. It follows Andy (Andromeda) on a mission to uncover what has happened to her sister and in doing so, uncovers secrets and magic.
The pacing of this book is fast, you get into it straight away. There is no world building settling you in and I liked that. I was always wanting more and hope there is a sequel to this as I still want more.
it's written well and captures the reader immediately. thank you for the advanced copy

This is a cracking read, i really enjoyed the story, but it is eerily similar to every exquistite thing by Lauren Steven, i had to go back to that book to check if the schools were the same, they arent, but they could be.
Set in an elite boarding school this tells the story of Andromeda whose sister Violet dies but Andy doesnt believe Violet is dead because the body in the coffin is wrong. We get wrapped up in demons, witches, and dark magic. Whilst Andromeda sets out to disover what happened to Violet, what she uncovers is even more sinister than she could have imagined and Violet is not as innocent as Andromeda initially believed..
I really enjoyed this book. Would love to have it in hardback if its released in that format.
