I absolutely loved this book, where it seems everyone has secrets hidden about their past. It keeps interesting by the story being told from multiple viewpoints and Janie, the girl who died is very likeable. The main character, 20 years on from janie's accident is Vanessa, a witness support volunteer at court. I found her to be quite an irritating character (maybe meant to be?) Who had been taken for a fool by her controlling police officer husband. The book twists and turns and we eventually see lots of links between the different characters- Vanessa, Janie and judge.
It's an easy read, pacey and quite emotional at the end.

“I died on a tuesday” follows multiple POVs; the victim, the criminal and the protector with short easy chapters. watching this novel play out in multiple different views lead to more questions and constantly had me on my toes! i went through this whole book believing nobody and waiting for the truth to finally break. this book was fast paced, easy to follow and constantly had me guessing, this is my first book by Corry but it definitely won’t be my last!

This is my first book by Jane Corry. Seriously can´t understand why I haven´t come across her before.

This was such a clever storyline, totally engrossing, and very hard to put down. Many twists, great characters, and emotional ending.

My thanks to NetGalley and Penguin General UK for giving me the opportunity to read an advanced digital copy in return for an honest review.

Great book. Lots of random connections and no one is quite what they seem

This is a book about three people, their families and an event that happened over 20 years ago. Janie was horribly injured in an accident when she was just 18 years old. Robbie is a world famous rock star adored by all. And Vanessa, a middle aged police officers widow who is a Witness Support Officer at Exeter Crown Court. Told from multiple POV and in dual timelines this is a very tense and exciting read.

Briefly, there was an horrific accident with the perpetrators fleeing the scene believing they had killed Janie. Twenty years later Robbie pleads guilty to the hit and run and all of the ramifications of that day are brought home in a shocking story full of secrets and lies. Is there anyone actually not guilty of something?

A brilliantly written thriller where every time you think everything is out in the open something else crops up right to the last page! The suspense is palpable as the threads of each of the protagonist’s own stories start to interweave and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. A great read I thoroughly enjoyed.

121 chapters (+ an epilogue) of an utterly compulsive story!
20 years ago Janie is left for dead. Best-loved celebrity Robbie has been waiting for this day for 20 years. He now needs a criminal lawyer!
Vanessa a witness service volunteer was married to Jack; the first cop on the scene 20 years ago!

Topics include: grooming and control, bribery and threats.
This book is addictive… Jane Corry never disappoints!

Loved the occasional nod to speech therapy as a speech therapist myself!

I’ve been lucky enough to have read a few of Jane Corry’s books as ARCs and they’ve all been brilliant, this one is no exception. It follows three main characters and their roles in an incident that happened previously and as the story picks up you start to see that you don’t actually know if they’re playing the role you assume at the start. I loved the twists and turns, Jane always keeps you on your toes for sure and the different layers and facets too it have really taken some clever skill to put together. If you like twisty pacy crime thrillers then order this one asap!

This is the most twisty and turny (new word there) book I have read! While I did have to suspend belief at around the halfway mark at some obviously dodgy money requests I still carried on and was keenly turning pages as I wanted to know the outcome.

It’s basically the stories of three people:
• Janie, a 40ish year old, who was hit by a van when 18 and left horribly disfigured and disabled
• Robbie, a 40ish rock star who is married with two young children
• Vanessa, a widow who married married to a policeman and is now a volunteer to work alongside witnesses in courtrooms

All three have back stories which involve others and start to intertwine. Vanessa’s story caused me the most angst as I found it got very unbelievable once extortion got involved. There were also some scenes in the courtroom that didn’t make sense to me but maybe they will be corrected in the final copy. I would have liked some DNA evidence given of Vanessa's situation too. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.

With thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Random House for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Powerful, Intriguing..
A powerful and intriguing premise which delivers in this edge of seat, nail biting suspense. A tragic tale of death and its aftermath and of those that tried to bury it - secrets will out and the truth will be told. A well told and smartly constructed tale with a deftly drawn and wholly credible cast of characters, a propulsive plot littered with twists and unexpected turns and a firm sense of time and place.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this book.

Lots of twists and turns in this novel as you try and work out which character did what. I liked the structure of the book with chapters alternating between different characters and it was a good pace.

The characters were believable and I was keen to keep reading to find out their story, especially Robbie's. Vanessa tended to be a bit repetitive in places and I did lose patience with her a little bit!

A solid 4 star read.

I do enjoy reading this author's books and this one is fabulous. There were so many twists and turns and things that I did not see coming, right through to the end of the book.

The short synopsis tells you the very basics -
Janie is an 18-year-old victim of a hit and run leaving her with life-changing injuries.
Several years later the arrest of Robbie, a famous singer is arrested.
Vanessa, a witness support worker has secrets and tries to do the right thing.

The story evolves and revolves around these three main characters, there are obviously others and these have a role to play. The clever thing is that you don't know which role they are actually playing. This is something that gradually emerges as the story continues, some little hints and bits are laid like breadcrumbs.

Each of the characters is quite likeable, and this is strange considering one of them is a hit-and-run driver. Some leave you feeling just a tad suspicious about them or rather their motives. As you get to know the main characters and those they know you start to build a picture, not only of what preceded the hit and run, but also during and after. This gives a times conflicting emotions, because you are able to see one side of things but then this is balanced by something else.

The truth is hard to come by in this book, the author has cleverly twisted her plot lines and her characters are not totally reliable, some for simple reasons others for more serious ones. By the end though, you will find yourself with different ideas than you first thought when you started. Well, at least I did!

This is a fabulous story and one that I thoroughly enjoyed, it is tense and at times it challenges your initial thoughts. I think this would make a brilliant book for a book club especially if you had someone to ask leading questions. This is a thriller that has a very addictive edge to it, I adored it and I would definitely recommend it.

As with all Jane Corry books, I absolute loved this one! Such a simple idea but so beautifully written. Will keep you in suspense until the end. Jane Corry writes all her books with beautiful depictions of the places they are set, and her characters are fabulous.

Following the lives of three characters - who do we believe, was rockstar Robbie really to blame for the accident that changed Janie's life?

So many twists and turns. The definition of the phrase page-turner!

A bit slow in places but overall this was a very clever story and I really enjoyed it for the most part. I'll definitely pick up some more of Jane's books

A very intricate many~ layered story that has taken skill to put together. You really do not know where it is going at all, which is great.
Loved it.

Janie has been in a terrible accident and left with life-changing injuries.

Successful pop star Robbie harbours a guilty secret and is not surprised when he is eventually arrested but his wife and children are stunned. Robbie knows what he has to do to protect them.

Cop widow Vanessa is good at supporting victims.. She especially wants to support Janie as her late husband investigated her accident all those years ago.

Their stories seamlessly connect in this well plotted story with lots of twists along the way.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Penguin for the ARC.
