The Wrong Sister is a psychological thriller that has several suspects and enough red herrings thrown in to keep you guessing until the reveal. The hints were scattered through out the book and I did guess some of the plot, but it is a compelling and well researched novel, and I found myself googling something to see if it was true, and it was!
This book will appeal to readers who like secrets and lies and misdirection.

I read this as part of a buddy read which a fab group of bookstagrammers. I don't think many of us stuck to the reading schedule for this as we raced ahead to find out what happened!
The story starts when two sisters decide to swap lives for a week. Tasha and Aaron are going for a week long getaway at Tasha's sister's luxury apartment in Venice.
Meanwhile Tasha's sister Alice and her husband Kyle are going to look after her young twins in their house near Bristol.
Unexpectedly, Kyle is murdered during the night, however, and Alice is left badly injured in hospital. When Tasha rushes home, she finds a note saying the killer had made a mistake and got the wrong sister!
This was a gripping, easy read which kept me turning the pages. There were some great twists and I don't think I guessed any of them correctly!! I suspected most of the characters as I was reading. I did have to suspend belief slightly at the end but it did reach a satisfying conclusion.
If you like twisty thrillers with a gripping plot and great characters, I would definitely recommend this one.

I love a book where the would be villain gets a POV.
This is the best thriller I have read in a really long time.
There were so many unexpected reveals and twists and it's honestly so unpredictable. If I didn't have to 'adult' I would have read it in one sitting, but I came pretty close.
I loved seeing the different perspectives and the pacing was brilliant.
It was my first by the author and certainly won't be the last.

This is an excellent and fast paced, well written book that had me hooked from the beginning. Tasha and Alice are sisters but live very different lives. Tasha is married to Aaron and has two small daughters, while Alice is a scientist and married to the handsome and charming Kyle. Alice and Kyle are kind enough to loan their flat in Venice to Tasha and Aaron for a week so they can have a holiday and moreover they agree to come and look after the girls for the time as well. What happens to both couples during that week changes their lives forever.
The story is told from the perspectives of Tasha, Alice and their mother Jeanette. All the characters are likeable and I found them all quite distinctive and believable. The writing is slick and brings the reader along with it. The village of Chew Norton where Tasha lives and where most of the story is set, sounds idyllic - despite the dangers the roll about under the surface.
Plenty of red herrings kept my guessing all the way through the story and I didn't get the ending correct until almost the end but I did enjoy it. A very exciting and twisty read.
With thanks to Netgalley and Michael Joseph, Penguin Random House for an early copy in return for an honest review.

A good , easy read page turner. Good twist at the end. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy

Tasha has always lived in her older sister, Alice’s shadow. Tasha and her husband, Aaron, live in their small home with their young twin girls.
When Alice and her husband Kyle offer to look after the twins so that Tasha and Aaron can use their place in Venice, they jump at the chance.
Their romantic trip away is cut short when what is believed to be a burglary gone wrong, leaves Alice in hospital and Kyle dead.
It’s coming up to the anniversary of Alice and Tasha’s baby sister, Holly, going missing at the age of 4 months old. Whatever happened to her? Is she dead or alive? The girls and their mum still think about her all the time.
This was a great story, full of suspense. There were plenty of red herrings, which had me changing my mind so many times, on what I believed was going on!
I liked Tasha’s character, I found her easy to relate to. She just wants a happy home and a happy life with her family.
Overall, a good story that kept me glued to my seat.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I shall be looking to read more of hers.
My thanks to NetGalley and Michael Joseph, Penguin for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

Tasha and her older sister Alice might look alike, but they couldn’t be more different.
Tasha’s married with two children and still living in her home town near Bristol. While Alice is a high-flying scientist travelling the world with her equally successful husband.
But each would trust the other with their life.
This is a very well-written book. It’s easy to read and the clues are released at exactly the right time. The plot draws you in and the pace is such that it keeps you reading. Great story with an unexpected ending. What’s not to like?

Alice and Tasha have very different lives, and when Alice offers Tasha the chance to enjoy a week away in Italy whilst she looks after Tasha's children in England, Tasha jumps the chance.
During their time away, Alice's husband Kyle is murdered in Tasha's home. Alice is in hospital but recovers.
This starts the tangled web of complicated family life. Who murdered Kyle? Why does Tasha's husband have messages from a pretty female colleague on his phone? Why does Tasha's Mum and her husband's Mum avoid each other despite knowing each other for years?
There are so many questions, and I really thought I'd worked it out but I hadn't. Not until the very end. This is a well written book with a great twist.

I would like to thank #NetGalley and #PenguinRandomHousePublishers for an #ARC of #TheWrongSister.
Tasha and Alice are sisters who look alike but have very different lives. A life swap for a week goes fatally wrong with Alice's husband loosing his life, and a murder investigation is lunched. However a note to Tasha saying it should have been her has thrown the investigation.
This book was a little clunky to read, it didn't seem to flow well, but still kept me captivated as to who knew what and when. There were separate stories that seemed to be ongoing, throwing many twists and an epic ending into the mix.
I highly recommend this book.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review. From the very start, this book ensnares you with its intricate plot and clever misdirections, keeping you eagerly turning pages to uncover the truth lurking beneath the surface.
The narrative revolves around two sisters, Tasha and Alice, who embark on a life swap: Tasha who is mum to twin girls swaps lives with her wealthy sister Alice for a week away in her Venetian apartment for their wedding anniversary. However, their plans take a sinister turn when tragedy strikes, Kyle has been murdered and Alice hospitalised with a severe head injury.
The author skillfully navigates multiple points of view, offering insights into each character's motivations. Throughout the book, are clever misdirections with unexpected twists and turns. I would highly recommended for fans of twisty thrillers and intricate mysteries.

Book Review – The Wrong Sister by Claire Douglas
4/5 *
Well. What can I say. Another flawless book from Douglas. My only “peeve” with this book is there was quite a bit of repetition. Maybe that was planned to make sure people don’t lose track, but for me it wasn’t necessary. Other then that, it was absolutely amazing.
There are some dark subject matters in this one so please approach with caution, thankfully there isn’t much that’ll put me off reading a book.
I have read a fair few books from Douglas and each and every one is worth the read, this is no different. The way she catches your attention and then keeps you so gripped your unable to put it down. That’s another flaw, because my adult life requires me to work so when I pick it up, I then have a tantrum because I am unable to finish it in my 30-minute lunch break. That’s more my own flaw then Douglas’ but it’s her fault for making her books so enjoyable.
I absolutely loved the plot in this one, it wasn’t an easy one to figure out but it was so mind blowing-ly good! One of these days I will figure out the plot twist, but then again, id prefer to keep guessing and then have my mind blown by Douglas every time.
If you like yourself a suspenseful filled thriller, then I suggest you read any of Douglas’ books.
A Huge thank you to NetGalley and the publishing team for allowing me to read this ARC. This review is from my own, honest opinion.

This is a great thriller from Claire Douglas, and like all her books, you won’t want to put it down.
Tasha lives with her husband and twin daughters so when her rich successful sister offers her house in Venice for them to have a break without the children, Tasha readily agrees. They have only been there a couple of days when they are threatened in an alleyway by a thug with a knife and then they receive a phone call to say their home has been broken into and her brother-in-law law is dead. This sets the pace for the rest of the book and it is a non stop whirlwind of revelations.

What a twisty, gripping book!
I have read a few of Claire Douglas' previous books and I think she is a fantastic author. This next book certainly did not disappoint!
I think the sibling relationship in the story was fantastic and so multi-faceted. I had so many different feelings towards their mother, in particular, mostly resentment. I assume that this was intended, at least in some part.
I was dying to figure out what might happen at the end throughout the book. I could guess little things along the way, but usually just as I thought I had something figured out, another twist got me!
I would definitely recommend this book, as well as others by Claire Douglas. Once I started, I couldn't wait to keep reading this book!
Thank you so much to Netgalley, Michael Joseph, Penguin Random House and Claire Douglas for this ARC!

Claire Douglas absolutely smashes it out of the park again! This book was incredible! A few people had recommended it to me and told me to prioritise the book. I didn’t anticipate that it would have had me so engrossed. I have loved all of Claire Douglas books but this is my favourite. There was so much deceit and lies throughout the book and so many secrets! Just what a thriller needs! I wish there had been a bit more of a story with the man in Venice. The DNA part of the plot blew my mind and I actually read up about this afterwards. I love it when a book teaches you something. I loved this book and I am sad that my time with Holly, Tasha and Alice is over!

What a story…
I got totally engrossed, couldn’t put the book down. It is a book you don’t want to miss if you like fast pace murder mysteries.
Alice’s husband is murdered in her sister Tasha’s house whilst they were babysitting. Tasha and her husband are followed in Venice on the same night and then a mysterious note is put through Tasha’s letterbox.
I loved the twists and turns, the sister’s relationship and the people surrounding them. I felt I really got to know them and empathise.
Well done Claire Douglas. I have not read any of her books before, but I will be looking out for more.

This was a hugely entertaining thriller, very much couldn’t put it down!
I really enjoyed how layered this felt. We’re continually learning new information but never in a way that felt like twists for the sake of twists. It more felt that once the characters found out information they just started making connections and asking the right questions and it felt so natural and well paced.
This is all centred around a family and the tragedy that they suffered thirty years earlier and another tragedy happening in the present. I thought the author entwined these two storylines brilliantly. There were so many clever avenues of enquiry that kept opening up and it was so fun to try and solve the mysteries. There were a few red herrings but they still fitted so well.
I was impressed with this book and I would read more from this author. This was a clever thriller and very enjoyable!

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this book, NetGalley. I really enjoyed it. The story was cleverly developed as the booked progressed and we learned more about Tasha and Alice. Nothing was quite as it seemed.

A fast paced book that has you racing through . Once again Claire Douglas doesn’t disappoint and keeps you guessing about what might happen next . Two sisters who are complete opposites Tasha who enjoys staying home with her twins and Alice enjoying the finer things in life.
Tragedy has struck the family once. Will it strike again ?

I really enjoyed this book. I felt like you got to know the characters really well and I was surprised by the ending!

Tasha and Aaron have a very different life to Tasha's sister Alice and her husband Kyle, so when Alice offer them a "Life Swap" for their anniversary they take the chance. Tasha is reluctant to leave her girls after what happened with her sister Holly many years ago, but seeing how excited Aaron is, she gets on the plane for a break in Italy! After all, Auntie Alice and Uncle Kyle have it all under control, dont they?
Unfortunately after an incident in Italy and then a phone call informing them of an incident at home, their trip is cut short.
I couldn't get enough of this book, what a ride. Told in 3 POVs, Tasha, Alice and their mother Jeanette. It becomes glaringly obvious as you get further on in the book that more secrets are being kept than you originally think, and not just little ones either.
A very easy read with a full on plot, a few unnecessary characters however but overall, a great read.
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for am honest review.
