This is a lovely book with cute dogs to crochet, simple instructions for crocheting. Think this would make a lovely gift for those inspired

I have been crochetting for several years and I would quantify this as an intermediate level book. The patterns are straightforward to follow and create cute little dogs!

Although I am proudly calling my self crochet dollmaker, there was two techniques I always to avoid. Making lifesize dolls and look realistic with fuzzy yarns. The result very cute but it tendency to create personal challenging process. But when I want to learn the best lesson about the techniques I will trust Sensei Mieko Shindo.

Crochet Yout Own Dogs offers 14 ambitious projects to learn also challenging all crochet doll enthusiasts. The process isnt easy but doable. Actually the author make me delightful and intriguing enough to trying again. With adorable and clever designs, the author bring new level of skill into crochet doll world. The pattern offer several type yarns and suitable techniques to groom it to create realistic look beautiful fur.

This is truly beautiful artwork and should own by each crochet doll maker. Maybe not for beginner level but totally inspiring to try some by yourself.

These dogs are amazing crochet creations! The projects in this book are complicated and therefore not for beginners, but it is a great resource for amigurumi makers to learn new techniques and make their creations even more realistic. Not only are the dogs life-size, but they look a lot like the small dogs they are modeled on! Mieko Shindo teaches the reader grafting, a technique that allows you to make realistic fur for these lil' pups, and also needle felting, to create fur texture.
The patterns seem clear and are well illustrated, though I'm not a crocheter, so I can't evaluate them personally. I like that the stitches for attaching different body pieces are illustrated in red, and even executed in red yarn, in the abundant photographs. There are crochet patterns for each dog, but also photographs of the dog from each side, a diagram with measurements for each part, and an illustration of the lengths of the grafted fur.
This seems like a really inspiring book, that will teach seasoned crocheters new ways to make cute things. And we all need more cute things in the world! I'll be buying it for my library.

As a beginner, I found this easy to follow and interesting in terms of new techniques using non-conventional crochet equipment. I was delighted to find 2 dachshund patterns in this book and am planning to try these soon. I'll definitely be buying the book for future use as the pictures are extremely helpful to use when doing the project vs the kindle version

🐾 "Crochet Your Own Dog" by Mieko Shindo pleasantly surprised me as a seasoned crocheter! Despite initial doubts about the complexity, Mieko's clear instructions make it seem much more manageable. I really enjoyed this book. I've been looking for something similar to help expand my skills and this was absolutely perfect to achieve my goals.

This was the perfect pattern book to own. I like the different options for having the dog either sit or stand. These will make the perfect gift for a loved one with one of these breeds.

These dogs are so cute. Almost life size representations of smaller breed dogs designed 3 way-standing, sitting and laying down. I loved the detailed instructions on how to do the fur patterns. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wanted to crochet a dog for themselves!

This book includes 14 patterns for 10 different breeds. It starts with pictures of the finished product and then details all of the required tools and materials. Some of the tools were new to me, like the slicker brush. It's normally used by a groomer but is used to loosen grafted yarn in some of these patterns.

The book continues with basic construction and then gets into each breed.

It included clear pictures and easy to understand instructions. Given that, I think a book would be easier to follow than an ebook

Oh this is perfect, the best book for any crochet and dog lovers. It’s very well planned out and very descriptive.

Crochet Your Own Dog is a wonderful collection of 14 canine amigurumi with tutorials by Mieko Shindo. Released 5th March 2024 by Zakka Workshop, it's 128 pages and is available in paperback format. Originally published in Japanese, this English translation is seamless and easy to read.

The book is logically laid out and accessible. The graphics are appealing and clear. The book is lavishly illustrated and I really appreciate the closeness and detail of the photography. The book also has a thumbnail gallery in the table of contents which is helpful.

The intro is followed by a large section of photographs of the finished projects in different settings. They're close up, clear, and easy to understand. The inspiration gallery is followed by a well explained general construction tutorial including instructions for completing the parts, grafting, and sewing construction.

The tutorial directions are pared down, and readers will need to flip back and forth from the tutorial directions to the photographs (or copy the directions to a scrap sheet and keep the photos/process pics open to follow).

Really pretty designs, well designed, realistic, and appealing.

Wow! These dogs are adorable, and so REAL looking! At first glance, they look impossible to make, but the author provides detailed instructions using directions, charts, drawings, and plenty of photos. I'd say it will take a lot of work to make one of these sweet pups, but the finished product will be well worth your efforts. AND, you won't have to walk it.

What an adorable collection of toy dogs to crochet. Would be great for gifts and home decor for the dog lovers. The instructions are clear, with photos. Looks like a lot of work but the end result is likely to be completely satisfying. Would be great if there are videos as well. While you can find free dog crochet patterns online, none are realistic as these ones are. Just amazing! Should be in every crocheter’s library.

There are 41 dogs to make, approx 30cm x 20cm in size.each and of the toy breeds Initially the bodies are crochet, which is easy to follow., with photos and instructions. the dogs are then enhanced by the addition of long hair, eyes and grooming. The end result are really cute and can be loved by children and adults alike. What a lovely gift for a person in a nursing home. Thanks you NetGalley and the publishers for the DR.

Then, how to 🧶 Crochet Your very Own Dog 🐾. Every dog you want to create has clear and easy to follow instructions with basic Crochet Symbols and Stitches that will help you on your way.
However, Once you create the first one, You will be hooked and you will want to create more of these cuties! 🐾 🐩 🐾.

I have 1 very happy Great niece now and she wants all all 14 of them!!!! I can see I am going to be busy for the next few months!!! lol
