The story is intended to be an allegory about finding a balance between nature and progress, and it has the expectedly neat and tidy ending that you would expect from Disney. While the art is really good and in some points stunning, the dialog doesn’t feel quite right for Ariel. I’m also having a really hard time picturing her writing in a journal. Additionally, despite it being a story about Ariel and Eric, I didn’t really get those vibes like you do from the film. The only thing that connected them to the Little Mermaid I know, were their names and the fact there were mermaids present

All that being said I think young fans will like the story, and the new mermaid designs are really cool and so detailed. The Inuit tattoo representation was stunning and so well done. The detail throughout as well is so well done, I would recommend for any Little Mermaid fan.

The Curse of the Sea Witches is a visually stunning and emotionally resonant continuation of Ariel’s story, expanding the world of The Little Mermaid with depth and heart. With vivid illustrations and a mature, engaging storyline, this tale offers a fresh take on a beloved character while delivering a thoughtful message for both younger readers and longtime Disney fans.

I love a retelling and the curse of the sea witches showed a different side of the little mermaid which was an enjoyable read thank you

As soon as I saw Disney, I was ready to submit an application for this because I absolutely adore little mermaid. This is a more team targeted book when it has a mixture of text and mango. It’s easy to follow. It’s fun to read sound to earth. I think it’s also pretty fun although it does branch off of what I would call Disney because it is more of an adventure/darker tone than the original movie. So do you keep that in mind when you go to read this

I was sent this eARC from Netgalley and Igloo Books in exchange for an honest review.

I was really intrigued to visit the world of The Little Mermaid. The art style for this graphic novel is stunning, and I feel did the setting justice. However, the story itself fell a little flat for me. The story, in my opinion, didn't flow.I also feel that the story felt so disconnected from the original Little Mermaid. The writing and inner monologue from Ariel felt too modern and disassociated from the original. I understand that they are different writers, but I just struggled to connect with Ariel in this story.

Though, I really liked the setting in Greenland and enjoyed seeing the take on the merfolk based there. I found the look of them so stunning.

But I don't understand why the word Curse is in the title, when there is no curse.

Overall, it is a cute read for fans of the Little Mermaid with such eye pleasing illustrations.

"Disney: The Curse of the Sea Witches" is a compelling graphic book about Ariel and Eric's unknown stories. The narrative, about a new Arctic port encroaching on merfolk habitat, cleverly integrates Ariel's dual personality and ability to traverse realms.

The well-written story gives new life to favourite characters. Beautiful pictures enrich the tale, making it visually spectacular. The graphic book ties Ariel to her origins and shows her conflict-resolution skills.

The seamless continuation of Ariel and Eric's story from the previous animated feature was great. The Arctic enhances their travels. This graphic book may become a series, and I'm excited to follow the couple's adventures in new places.

Disney and Little Mermaid fans should read "Disney: The Curse of the Sea Witches". Its fascinating narrative, beautiful artwork, and real feel award it a 5-star rating. Recommended for an unforgettable evening with Ariel and Eric.

This was such a cute read! Ariel is one of my all time favourite Disney Princesses so I couldn't resist requesting this one when I saw it!

I loved seeing Ariel take on her role as the Princess at Eric's side and I loved how this story brought her back to her mermaid roots. I also really liked that some of it was also told in Ariel's own notes and drawings!

A quick and fun read, perfect for a Disney fan!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I downloaded and read this book last night and I found it really enjoyable.

The story was well planned out and I loved the links back for Ariel to her roots and how she could use those to help resolve the situation she came across when a new port was being built – it was great to see one of the adventures that Eric and Ariel have been on since the ending of the first animated film

I loved the illustrations and it was a fantastic graphic novel.

A great way to spend the evening and a story I am going to be highly recommending!

It is 5 stars from me for this one, a must for any Disney and Little Mermaid fans!

I adored this graphic novel all about Ariel and Eric's adventures in the Arctic. The story was gripping, the artwork was beautiful and it felt really authentic as a Little Mermaid continuation story. I'd love for this to become a series and follow their adventures elsewhere!

I’ve always loved Ariel so I took the chance on this graphic novel, I enjoyed reading about life after they got married but think it’s not very well fleshed out. It felt very rushed but for young readers I think this will interest them enough.

I also liked at the beginning it explained the history of why they chose the places they did and the inspiration for the graphics.

All in all, was a very quick read and it was interesting enough that I read it in about 15 minutes.

Beyond excited to read and acquire this one! I’ve long been a fan of the Little Mermaid and since the craze of the live action movie earlier this year I know people can’t seem to get enough of the fun loving and exploring mermaid. Beautiful full color illustrations make this original story even more interesting. Can’t wait to dive in! I know readers will as well.
