Susannah hears her son, Freddie, yelling out in pain. Susannah sees that Freddie is surrounded by two men, who have knocked him to the ground. Susannah runs out and calls her husband, Lance. Lance tells Susannah not to call the police and to hand over the keys to Freddie's car. This is just the beginning of Susannah's life unravelling. Susannah quickly learns that Lance has been living of life of lies. Lies that will change everything. I don't want to say anything more about the plot, as it is best to go in blind. There are so many surprise twists and turns!

This read is definitely more exciting than your typical domestic thriller. EV Seymour covers new areas and does not just rely on the overdone tropes. It was a very clever read and left me guessing until the end. I liked the switch between multiple characters. It made it hard for me to put the novel down as one character's story often ended on a cliffhanger. Overall, a dark and twisted thriller that is worth the read.

I’ve struggled to build a good life for me and my son. But one moment will destroy everything.

I hear my son cry out. I rush, half-dressed, to the window and see two men marching up my driveway. They knock my son to the ground. They want the keys to my car.

I phone my husband. ‘Susannah,’ Lance says in a voice I don’t recognise. ‘Hand them the keys. Do not call the police.’

It brings back the wild panic I experienced all those years ago when I discovered I was pregnant after an intense holiday romance. I couldn’t tell the father. And I struggled as a single mother.

But when Lance suggested we move in with him and I could finally give my son a proper loving home it was the happiest day of my life.

But our life was built on lies. Not just about money. Everything.

This book was everything and more. Suspense and drama go hand in hand. Will recommend to others.

Good story of a husband lying on numerous fronts, including enormous debt that leads to consequences , connections to the past, and revenge in the present. Some unexpected turns occur , almost in a manner too extreme.

Great psychological thriller that takes you on multiple unexpected twists and turns, however the narrorating style was a little off for me. It tells from multiple point if views without first telling you who's pov it is which makes it kind of confusing at first to figure out. Overall though, the storyline was suspenseful and ended wonderfully.

I enjoyed this book. I thought it moved at a good pace, and it kept me entertained throughout. It was a thrilling ride of twists and turns and suspense that gripped me from the start. I loved the storyline and the way it developed had me questioning all of the characters.

One problem I had was that there were multiple POVs and there were no names or distinguishing identifiers to let you know which POV was narrating the chapter. So it would take me a minute to determine which POV I was reading from every time a new chapter started. That was frustrating.

Outside of that, this was a solid thriller that was different than the typical thriller books out there.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc. This one had all of the aspects of a double life, a liar, and people thinking they can take the law in their own hands. New author to me, and I am impressed. Great thriller

My Lying Husband by E.V. Seymour offers a gripping narrative that delves into the complexities of betrayal, deception, and the unraveling of hidden truths. The novel centers around the protagonist, Susannah, as she grapples with the sudden intrusion of two menacing figures into her life, triggering a chain of events that unravel long-held secrets and betrayals. As Susannah confronts the reality of her shattered illusions, the author adeptly explores the multifaceted layers of deception and the toll it takes on both individuals and families.

One of the strengths of the book lies in the author's exploration of the emotional ramifications of betrayal and living a double life. Through Susannah's perspective, readers are offered insight into the profound sense of loss and disorientation that accompanies the discovery of deceit. Additionally, the portrayal of the impact of a father's deception on his children adds depth to the narrative, highlighting the far-reaching consequences of dishonesty.

Despite some shortcomings in plot development, I found myself thoroughly engaged and enjoyed the experience of unraveling the mysteries alongside Susannah. Overall, it's a satisfying read for those intrigued by suspenseful tales of deception and redemption, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an entertaining and thought-provoking story.

Thank you NetGalley and E.V. Seymour for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Started out very slow and hard a hard time keeping up with the shift of characters in certain chapters, which made it hard to keep track of who was saying what. But the twist was kind of a new one for me, which I did enjoy.

A bit of a slow start and then everything just went mental lol. Certainly different, maybe a few too many povs but I still enjoyed it in all its complicated, twistyness

I have had the pleasure of reading many of E V Seymours books published under this name or other pseudonyms and have always enjoyed them but this one which may have been written as an experiment didn't go too well!

I didn't give up reading it but I was hard to concentrate at times as perhaps it was intended to be read by feminist women and not by a bloke like me. I particularly enjoyed her Tallis series of books and also the series of her
alternative to James Bond. But I pushed through to the end and for a murder thriller it was very different having the killing taking place so late in the story. I have another of her books to read which I hope will be more in her usual style of writing. Recommended.

I hate not finishing a book, I always try to push through but I could not get into this book. It was hard to read with the different POV not knowing who was who. Sorry but this book was not for me.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me this copy.

Thank you #NetGalley for the ARC. This was my first read from E.V. Seymour. This book took a minute to build up but was a great read even though a little predictable but kept my attention. I enjoyed the twists and turns that came along in the story line even though it seemed a little long at times . I would recommend this book to others

What a twisty little bugger this book was!! This was a crazy ride. I got this copy from NetGalley as an arc and finally read it. EVERY SINGLE WOMAN in this book wore me out! Chantel, Susannah, Amy, their mommas, and Coco. Geeze, the men never had a chance. This was women wreaking havoc on everyone! There were so many POVs it was hard to figure out who was talking. I really wish it focused on Susannah & Chantel only first. Then Coco. I didn't need Amy's. Overall, I was thrilled, kept in suspense until the very end. Solid book!

This was a book with many twists and turns and the ending was certainly not what I expected. It was suspenseful. That said, it was also a bit confusing. The book followed different characters at different times with no signposts for the reader so it was hard to follow at some points. I think it would have been easier to understand what was going on if the chapters had headings that indicated which character's perspective we were reading from.
I also think the ending was a bit abrupt in that there were not really any clues about what was going to happen so one of the things that happened at the end was a bit of a surprise.
I think that this book would be good for those that like British whodunits.
