Brilliant concept, utterly wacky and very well written.
Great characters, extremely funny and definitely a recommended read.
Loved it
Thank you to Netgalley, Random House Uk and Kirsty Greenwood for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review

This author can just take all my money at this point ! I officially am a complete fangirl and will read anything they write in the foreseeable !
The author is a complete powerhouse and I couldn’t put this book down . It captivated me from the first page to the last . Thank you so much

This book was fabulous, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it.
Delphie, having just choked on her food meets “the one” in the afterlife waiting room, she is offered a second chance at life (and love!) but she must find him on Earth before ten days are up…
A premise that I'd not come across before, and I thought Kirsty executed it really well. I was laughing out loud, something I have come to rely on with Kirsty's books because she is hilarious. I liked the character reflection and development that ran alongside a this kind of absurd but compelling plot. Unputdownable!

Thank you to @netgalley and @penguinrandomhouse for the review copy of this fun read! I love a bit of magical realism so the afterlife aspect colliding with real life was a great way to bring about some drama in someone’s life.
We’re off to quite a rough start where Delphie chokes to death on a microwave burger. She finds herself in a fun laundrette with a wild afterlife therapist for company. As she makes a deal with her, she finds herself starting to really enjoy her life.
The characters made this book for me, I was getting Eleanor Oliphant mixed with Bridget Jones for Delphie and loved reading her love/hate relationship with her neighbour, who I pictured like Roy Kent from Ted Lasso 😂
Getting little life lessons from a book is brilliant for me and this one was full of them! Even though I didn’t agree with some of Delphie’s choices (she cannot hold her drink, pls stop trying 😂) I really enjoyed the drama that unfolded.
The twist at the end also made for a lovely, emotional link! So many ahhh and laugh out loud moments!
⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Oh my god what a read! Honestly this is one of the best books I’ve read this year - it’s funny, sweet, uplifting and so so heartwarming! It’s definitely an odd concept but oh my gosh it works so well - definitely a must read!

What a beauty of a read. This book just filled me with happiness. It was not only hilarious but really well written.
A was a real page turner and I got through it so quickly.
I highly recommend picking this up, it would be a great holiday read because it’s such a feel good book.
I will definitely being doing a re read at some point.
Thank you so much to the author and Random House UK, Cornerstone!

Loved this and can absolutely see why it's working so well with readers in difficult times. Warm and very funny.

Imagine dying in your ratty PJs and landing in a literal meet-cute with a dishy guy in the afterlife. That’s Delphie’s chaotic introduction to the afterlife — and boy, does it set the stage for a wild ride!
This book is an absolute romcom fever dream with a sprinkle of “oh no, what now?” energy. We’ve got the classic tropes: fake dating, a love triangle, found family (YES), plus the delicious “only one bed” tension.
Delphie is a hot mess, but the most endearing kind. She’s out here in her worst PJs, determined to track down a man who doesn’t even remember her. A virgin heroine, full of heart and self-doubt, navigating the ultimate cosmic do-over.
It’s fast-paced, swoony, and slightly ridiculous — in the best way. The chemistry? Chef’s kiss. If you love romcoms with a fantastical twist and a heroine who’s equal parts cringe and charming, you’ll adore this. Delphie’s afterlife quest is the perfect combo of funny, tender, and just a bit out of this world.

I wasn’t expecting to love this book as much as I did, I chose it because I thought the cover was fun but wow. I went through all the feels with this one! When I started it I thought it was an interesting and original concept for a book and she really delivered on it. The main characters were great but the side characters brought so much to the story too. Just read it!

I loved this book!
The characters were brilliant, flawed, fun, funny! The plot was punchy and interesting; I was initially thrown off by how many romance ‘tropes’ there were however, the author’s love of romance, really helped the book to not become cliche and boring.
The main character was endearing, I honestly felt like she was a real person and wanted to remind her of her worth and to fight for her life!
This is a fantastic book for those who love romance books but want the excitement and thrill of a meaty plot and fun characters!

I loved this book. It had a slow start but once I got into it. I got caught up in the story, the romance, I loved the secondary characters in this which is rare to find. Mr Yoon, Aled, and lots more others. They all had their quirkiness and the only person I’d say i hated is Gen. I can’t say why as it would spoil it. Will read more from this author
Thanks goes to net galley, publishers for providing me with a copy in exchange for a honest review.

Loved it! At last a different love story. Will be looking out for more books from this author. Makes you think about love choices and kept me guessing throughout the book.

3.5 stars
i really enjoyed this, i loved the writing style and the story line. I enjoyed reading about the characters, it was such a quick read! perfect to get out of a reading slump. would recommend.

The Love of My Afterlife by Kirsty Greenwood is a delightful and heartwarming story that seamlessly combines wit, romance, and a hint of the supernatural.
With just the right balance of humor and heartfelt moments, it’s a captivating read for anyone craving a magical, feel-good escape. A must-read for fans of uplifting fiction!

Oh I just loved this book so much 🥹 I mostly read thrillers and very rarely step away from them but if I do, it’s for books like this. I was approved to read this on NetGalley so long ago and I’m absolutely kicking myself for not getting to it sooner. It’s literally like The Good Place (her waking up in the afterlife) & What’s Your Number (my fav romcom — in terms of her teaming up with her neighbour to go on this bizarre quest) mashed together, with so much more humour and laugh out loud moments. I had the best time with this and found myself thinking about it often during the few hours I wasn’t reading it. I think this would work so well as a movie!!!!!
I did guess the little *reveal* but it all still felt so magical and I still got choked up during the ending. A sweet, lighthearted read that I will def come back to at some point! 4.5 stars

The Love of My Afterlife by Kirsty Greenwood is a charming and uplifting read that effortlessly blends humor, romance, and the supernatural.
It offers a perfect mix of laughs and emotional depth.
This book is ideal for readers looking for an entertaining, feel-good read with a touch of magic and plenty of heart. Highly recommended!

Loved this book, it made me laugh out loud and cringe all at the same time.
27 year old Delphie accidentally dies after choking on a burger. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad for a recluse whose only friend is an elderly man named Mr Yoon. However when she ends up in Evermore with Merritt her afterlife therapist Delphie is surprised to meet the love of her life. As quickly as love flashes before her eyes it suddenly gets ripped away again when he is taken back to Earth again to have another chance at life. Delphie finds herself also given a second chance to find love on Earth with only one catch. She must secure a kiss within 10 days!
The mishaps that follow are hilarious and heartwarming all in one. I'd highly recommend.

This book made me ugly cry and I loved it. Omg my heart kept breaking and healing so many times, and also laughing out loud, the premise was amazing and the twist at the end OMG! I loved Delphie (even more that she died from choking on a burger and despite having zero success at romance in her 27 years, met the man of her dreams (Jonah) whilst in her nightie, on the other side in Evermore hahaha!). To top it off she doesn't get a chance to progress very far with him as Jonah is sent back down to Earth! The Afterlife therapist Merritt then gives her an ultimatum that allows her to return to Earth to find Jonah and get her happy ever after but she has to find him and kiss him BUT she only has 10 days and has no idea where to find him, and if she fails then she will have to return to Evermore!
Poor Delphie went through so much as a character and after having such a harsh time growing up the only person she had to rely on was Mr Yoon her elderly neighbour (who is an amazing side character!). This book really had me laughing and cheering but also feeling teary. A really fun rom-com that I really enjoyed reading!

Almost predicted it, but not quite... cutesy, some parts bit cringey, makes you do some life reflections overall: enjoyed it!!!
super yes to community love found by Delphie

I'm laying in bed sick and feeling sorry for myself so picked up this book. A light easy read i thought!
OH MY GOD BEST BOOK IVE READ IN AGES. Truly had it all for me. Highly recommend to just any type of reader. Comedic, lovely, romance, a plot I cared about AND a whole heap of characters I adored.
10/10. (5 isn't enough!)
