I absolutely loved this book. I loved the good place so when I read this blurb I knew it would be for me.

At parts the book was cringey but that was to be expected - she’s supposed to get a guy whom she’s never met on earth to kiss her in 10 days or she’ll die. The slightly embarrassing moments did not detract from the book. If anything, it made the main character more likeable.

It was overall a really heart warming and inspiring book. I really adored the aspect of by trying to keep her life she finds a completely new one. It had everything in it: love, making new friends, confronting childhood bullies, drama…

The only downside is that I wish Cooper had been in the book a little more from the beginning.

I really enjoyed the writing style. It was really easy to read and I didn’t want to put it down. I devoured this book in 2 days. The short chapters were also a bonus.

I will 100% recommend this book.

The writing and premise read really fresh. I particularly liked all the characters and how different from each other they are, they make this quite a unique book. I did see where the plot was going from the start, which took out quite a lot of tension out of it for me, but I don't think romance readers will mind, enjoying instead the originality of the journey and the depth of the main characters.

this was an absolutely gorgeous read. delphie dies and enters Evermore where she meets Merritt, her afterlife therapist. when a man also arrives but only for an unconscious visit, delphie is granted 10 days back on earth as long as she can get him to kiss her before her time is up.

this book has everything from the happiest highs to the heartbreaking lows. the found family with all of the side characters was so lovely to read. there is fake dating involved too which i really enjoyed.

this isn’t only a story about love but about second chances and taking those chances you miss the first time around. it’s truly a story of putting yourself out there as well as encompassing every positive aspect of a romantic comedy.

I wanted to love this book. A woman given a second chance at life to track down a man she has an undeniable connection with (despite the fact that she met him once, whilst dead, and he has no memory of her)? Yes please!

Unfortunately, it wasn't the one. It felt like it was trying a bit too hard to be quirky and fun, and a lot of the characters annoyed me beyond reason. I'm sure others will love it, but it wasn't the book for me!

Reminiscent of Dead Romantics - this was a clever, well written emotional story with fabulous three dimensional characters.
Such a clever and interesting premise with a great twist. I really enjoyed it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline. It was honestly a pleasure to read and once I was hooked, I couldn’t put it down!

A unique storyline and meet cute. Love the idea of finding someone in heaven and the death councillor reminded me of Dawn French

What a book! I loved this! At first I thought it was just a witty, easy read with engaging characters, but there are many layers to this and it's actually quite deep and emotional. I thought I knew where the story was going only to discover a major plot twist, leading into a massive edge of your seat finale which had me reading late into the night, unable to put it down. I really hope this book does well and will be recommending it to everyone.

So, I worked out the basic direction of the plot of this really early on (Even made my husband listen to what I thought would pan out so that I could have someone to say I told you so to) but it in no way took away from the enjoyment of this.

This book has ALL of the tropes (thanks, Merritt) and I loved all of it. I've actually never read a book by Kirsty Greenwood before and I intend to rectify that immediately.

I laughed, I cried, I gasped - I just absolutely adored everything about this book.

I won't mention how I felt about the connection between the characters because I don't want to give anything away, however, I absolutely loved the side characters and the relationships Delphine built along the way.

This is definitely up there as one of my favourite books of 2024, I cannot fault this at all!

Delphie choked on a microwave burger and finds herself in the Evermore where Merritt shows her a film about her life which has been very humdrum. Delphie had cut herself off from people after being bullied and having a difficult home life. Merritt gives her a second chance, but she has do complete a challenge in 10 days or she has to return to the Evermore.

This book is beautifully written, the characters so believable, I felt I was there, willing Delphie on but totally understanding her hesitations and feelings and worries.

This is the first Kirsty Greenwood book I have read, but will certainly look out for more. Loved it

I'm not a big romance reader in general, but this - my first book by Kirsty Greenwood - was an absolute delight.

Delphie (I love her name) lives a life which is very very limited. That only starts to change when she - well - dies, choking to death on a beefburger. The afterlife, as it turns out, is not quite what she might have expected. But is a second chance at life possible for Delphie?

This story is knowingly steeped in the tropes of romantic fiction, in the best possible way - several actual books and authors are namechecked. It's all here - enemies to lovers, fake dating, etc (I know I said I wasn't a big romance reader, but I have read *some*). And it all makes sense in the admittedly very unlikely context!

Kirsty Greenwood is also a very funny writer, and had me laughing out loud numerous times. I'm going to seek out her other books now, because this was just so much fun,

I love Kirsty Greenwood and was really looking forward to reading her latest book.

This is the story of Delphie, who finds herself dead after choking on a particularly disappointing microwave burger.

She comes too in Evermore, where she’s in heave’s waiting room, bizarrely a laundrette, being checked in by Merritt, a thoroughly over the top afterlife therapist.

While learning about her death and what comes next, Merritt and Delphie realise someone else has entered the laundrette. Someone not scheduled to be there but someone who has a huge impact on Delphie. Who knew she would meet the love of her (after)life in a celestial laundrette?

It turns out that Jonah shouldn’t be there though, he’s not dead, just suffering from a bad dose of over-anaesthesia and off he pops back to Earth.

Delphie is bereft and Merritt spots an opportunity to have some fun by agreeing to send Delphie back and give her a week to find Jonah and have him kiss her. Jonah is after all, one of her soul mates…

So off Delphie goes, on a mission to find Jonah and have the kiss that will give her her life back.

If she doesn’t find him, she’ll be back in Merritt’s laundrette in a week’s time.

As a premise, it’s an interesting way to get to the romantic fiction tropes that Delphie herself comes to review but on initial meet, Merritt felt very Janet from the Good Place and I really wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy the book. Too silly, too annoying. Delphie is apparently friendless (through choice), has no life to speak of, other than looking after an elderly neighbour and is a 27 year old virgin… I mean, why?

But please don’t let any of that put you off reading further.

This is a joy of a book. Delphie is fabulous. Her put downs to Cooper the man-slut from the ground floor are hilarious. She’s witty, talented and beautiful and has absolutely no idea.

The people she meets along the way to finding Jonah are excellent and I loved it all.

The way the story threads are tied together at the end is lovely.

A cracker of a book, fun, clever, thought-provoking and thoroughly enjoyable.

Frankly, this was one of the favourite books I’ve read for quite some time. I loved so much about it, from the introspection, to highlighting how we so often let life happen to us and be swept along as if we are not in control of how our own story exists and ends. To how we have no idea what somebody else’s motivation for their being is, and to judge less unless we want to actively be interested. We need to stop letting life happen to us and take action that makes our existence more meaningful. It was funny, character rich and even though it was about death, really uplifting!
There were so many great observations and profundity in this book, one that I loved was ‘Crying means you care, that you have feelings,’ I felt that, unfortunately I was reading this part in a café and was ‘that girl’ tearing over her book!

This book deserves all the hype and more. A fanastic story idea, fabulously written one by Kirsty Greenwood that I was rooting for Delphie to get her happy after all. I'll be looking for more from this new author for me.

This is such a sweet, adorable and heart warming romantic comedy with a sprinkling of magic!

After the main character dies in chapter one (this isn’t a spoiler, don’t worry!), she is given 10 days to return to earth and find who she thinks is her soulmate. The story then follows a series of hilarious moments as the main character battles her insecurities and overcomes her own barriers learning about herself and the precious gift of life, love and friendship.

“There’s so much to see, so much to do, so much to feel.”

An easy read… good humour, romantic and a happily ever after.

A fun read for fans of The Good Place. Although it took me a while to warm to Delphie, I enjoyed seeing her journey of falling in love and finding her own community.

The catch? He doesn’t even know who she is! This was such an easy book to read and had me laughing out loud! It also gives a positive message that if you think your life is a bit crap then you just need to make a few positive changes and a little effort and the joy of life comes naturally. Really enjoyed this and will be recommending this book to family & friends.
