It's been a long time (too long) since we've heard anything from Kirsty Greenwood, and thankfully she's now back with a rom com that's a little bit different from the norm, in the fact that our lovebirds meet in the afterlife - what an interesting concept! A fun rom com that I'm sure readers of this genre are going to love.

5⭐️ I was very lucky and got this cute little romcom as an ARC from Netgalley! It will be released June 20th 2024 and I can’t recommend it enough! I’m not a big romcom reader if I’m honest but when I saw the netgalley email saying “How to Lose A Guy in Ten Days meets The Good Place” I couldn’t not try and get it! I’ve added one of my favourite quotes here but honestly, I laughed so much reading it! This is my first Kirsty Greenwood book but I’m definitely going to be reading more in future.

Huge thanks to the author and publisher for the chance to read this ARC, in exchange for an honest review. I absolutely devoured this, The Love of My Afterlife has everything, relatability, fun, The Good Place vibes in Evermore. Merritt is hilarious, I loved Delphie and Cooper’s chemistry from the off. It was a perfect read for me.

I LOVED this book.
It was everything I wanted from a book and more.
This isn't usually my genre but if all romcom's are this good I could definitely be persuaded to read more of them.

What a gorgeous story! This is a heartwarming and beautifully written story about second chances in life. I really rooted for Delphie, she really grew and developed over the course of the story. It was genuinely funny in parts and heartwarming in others. This book explores the importance of friendship, community and living life to the full. I won’t include too much info in the review so as not to spoil the experience but I really enjoyed the plot devices, it felt a little different from the other romance books I’ve read.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion! 4.25 🌟

A beautiful tale about life and love and opening up to living! Being in the moment building friendships and ultimately falling in love ! I’m obsessed with cooper and rooted from page one for him, I want to tell you more but I’m afraid to spoil such a beautiful story. If you want to laugh and cry this is for you

The Love Of My Life is and absolutely bonkers, funny wonderful read
Delphie is very much a loner, living alone in a London flat she doesn’t need friends and her life is dull and boring which suits her just fine. Choking on a burger she finds herself in the afterlife. Meeting Merritt there to guide her through the ‘being dead’ process it is not at all what she expected. Suddenly another person who has just died joins them, a handsome young man Jonah who Delphie is strongly attracted to and feels he is her soul mate. Suddenly realising Jonah has been sent there by accident Merritt sends him straight back, but agreeing with Delphie that he must be her soulmate she agrees to send Delphie back to her life and gives her 10 days to find Jonah and as soon as they kiss she can remain in the land of the living.
So far so daft, but then the fun really starts as Delfie has to navigate starting to rely and interact with other people in her quest, one of them being her rude obnoxious downstairs neighbour Cooper.
The story continues at a rollicking pace with a cast of fabulous supporting characters. Not only funny there is also sadness and dealing with loss, and a twist I just didn’t see coming. The ending was perfect, I just wanted to go back to the beginning and start again. My thanks to net galley and publisher for the opportunity to review this book honestly.

Oh my goodness! What a brilliant book.

I’ve read Kirsty Greenwood’s other books and have hoped for years that a new release would come. When I saw The Love Of My Afterlife available to request I was so excited. This is an author who writes such captivating, funny, slightly surreal, fantastic stories…and this book was all that!

I was hooked from the first page. Poor Delphie living her final moments choking on a burger. Delphie is a great character, flawed and normal and utterly likeable.

I just loved every bit of this story, I’m not going to include any spoilers in my review, but every single character was great.

There were some real emotional parts for the reader, I shed a few tears throughout. I particularly liked the element around Delphie’s mum! Perfect! There are parents like this and this relationship explained so much without getting bogged down in the detail of it all.

This is going to be one of those books that lives in my head and I will recommend to others.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for my advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review 📚

I would give it ten stars if I could.
It is without doubt one of my books of the year. Pure entertainment! What a pleasure it was to read and I feel sorry for those that have to wait until June to read it. I laughed, I cried, I cheered. A full circle of emotion and it is bound to be a big summer hit!

I cannot even begin to describe how much I love this book! Kirsty Greenwood is absolutely everything. This is not my first book from her and she truly never disappoints. I will be sharing full thoughts and a review, but just wanted to share my initial thoughts and excitement. I felt I was right there with the main character and I was so darn curious what was going to happen. Would she return to the earth and stay there? What about Jonah? So do soooo good.

The Love of My Afterlife is a funny love story that made me laugh out loud and had me wanting to read 'just one more chapter.'

Delphie finds herself unexpectedly dead. After randomly meeting a dreamy man for a very short time in the afterlife she's offered a second chance, find the man who was mistakenly sent to the afterlife and is now back in the real world and get him to kiss her within ten days in order to escape her own untimely death. There's only one problem, she only has his name to go on, and so once back in the land of the living she enlists the help of her aloof neighbour to help her locate the man.

She soon discovers that Cooper is not who she thought he was, and as he helps her track down the alleged man of her dreams, she gets to know him a little better. Her liaison from the afterlife is hilarious, and given she loves romantic comedies, the references to the tropes and books we all love from this genre promise to delight you. Throw in another fantastic friendship with her other unconventional neighbour Mr Yoon and The Love of My Afterlife will have you sighing with contentment as you finish the last page.

Thank you so much for this arc in exchange for an honest review!

I’m so grateful that I got approved for this arc because this book truly became one of my favourite romance books of all time.
I'm a huge believer of the afterlife and I loved the supernatural element it added to the story. I’ve never read anything like this before and I can’t remember the last time a book made me laugh and cry so hard.
I really enjoyed Delphi's character development, the beautiful love story and how everything turned out in the end.

There isn’t much more to say. Absolute perfection.
