This was an arc read, and I just do not know why I putting it off for so long to read it.

Yes, it has a magical moment, yes and our heroine is dead.
Yup, she is a gonner, but is she really?!

This book just brings me back to 2000 romance novels. I love the enemies to lovers kind of trope. Yes, this one is with a twist.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I really needed a break from sports romance, small town, single dad romance. I don't know how many I read in last few months...and this book was a bit of a freash air.

But... I how it would be funnier. It was a looney, but not really Laught at laoud kind of book.

4 stars for me!

Thank you for my earc of this book. I loved the premise of this and thought it was executed well! The characters were lovely and I rooted for Delphie. I’d recommend this to fans of romance with a twist, like The Dead Romantics!

This was a simple, fun, easy and quick read. The perfect type of book for your holiday, beach, pool kind of read. This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and I would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you very much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

Delphie doesn’t realise how lonely her life is, she has no close family or friends and definitely no romance, all she really has is her elderly neighbour who she’s taken it upon herself to look after. One night changes everything when she chokes on a microwave burger and dies, suddenly she’s in the afterlife with her eccentric ‘afterlife therapist’ and meeting her soulmate. When he’s sent back after a mix up, she’s given 10 days to find him and get him to kiss her.. if she succeeds she can stay, if she doesn’t she’s dead for good.

I really enjoyed this one, I loved seeing Delphie’s life expand and grow to more than just her work and the four walls of her flat. I did know exactly what was going to happen very early on but I liked it nonetheless.

My absolute favourite part of the book were all of the side characters, they really made the story for me. They were funny and sweet, and so kind to Delphie when she didn’t always deserve it.

I would definitely read another book by this author!

Im not normally a fan of magical realism, but I thought the premise of this one sounded great, and it blooming well was.
Delphie isn't really living, she's hiding from the world, being mean to people and has erected walls around herself, and she's grumpy - my favourite sort of character - but when she chokes and goes to the Afterlife, she meets Jonah and gets the chance to start over, with caveats.
I loved this one, the writing was brilliant and I was routing for Delphie to make it. The twists and turns the author threw in and the lovely set of side characters made for a fun read.
The community aspect was brilliant and the romance tropes were just great to read.
Highly recommend this one.

This was such a delightful story, that delivered cute fairytale vibes and made me feel all warm inside. The chemistry in this book was phenomenal and there was so much emotion carried throughout the book.

This is the perfect book to read this summer. I really enjoyed reading this and I loved following Delphie’s journey watching her self-growth flourish.

This is such a fun and unique spin on the cosy rom com. It reminds me a bit of the Dead Romantics. A big compliment!

This is my first book by Kirsty Greenwood and it won't be my last. A funny, heartwarming enemies to lovers story with a brilliant cast of side characters, great chemistry, a satisfying story

Delphie finds herself in the afterlife. While waiting she meets a gorgeous stranger called Jonah. They hit it off but he is whisked back to life as it isn't his time.
Delphie's afterlife therapist believes in true love and allows her to go back for 10 days to try and find Jonah. She has to get him to kiss her or she dies all over again.
I loved this book took me a little while to warm to Delphie but liked her as the book went on.
This was an unusual story a bit fantasy a bit romance and I really enjoyed it. Found it hard to put down.
Thanks to publisher and Netgallery

Absolutely brilliant. I loved this idea and Kirsty Greenwood really delivers on it. And so very, very quickly, I was asking myself - what would I do if i could just keep swapping out my husband for a new one? It seems like a fun idea, but Greenwood spins the kaleidoscope and proves that what might seem fun can have echoing consequences - you might gain big, you might lose big with every spin of the wheel, either or both can happen in the parallel universe you create.
The ending is brilliant too - you wonder how on earth she's going to solve the problem she's decided this magic actually is, and the clever, only possible solution you'd never have dreamed of for yourself, is immensely satisfying.

The Love of My Afterlife is a fun, heartfelt rom com featuring 27-year-old recluse Delphie, who’s been given a second chance at life. I loved the concept and the magical realism genre worked fantastically. From the get go, I thoroughly enjoyed protagonist Delphie and her narrative voice. Her thorniness and bite felt justified by a developed backstory and there was satisfying character development in Delphie finding the love of her life but also realising a love for life itself. Yes, the love interest was obvious from the first introduction and perhaps I would have liked a little more mystique behind the romance plot but truthfully it did feed into the rom com trope wonderfully.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy of this e-arc!

The concept of this book is something I haven’t seen done before eh uh I really loved, the 1st 50% I devoured but I felt like it lost me until nearer the end because I just felt like it was quite predictable.

Although I did still enjoy the book!

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. Admittedly, it took a bit of time to get into this book and warm to Delphie, but when I did, I was absolutely captivated. The concept was great, and I was absolutely invested in the story and Greenwood's fantastic cast of characters. It made me laugh, cry, and gasp as the twists were revealed. I would have loved a "happy ever after" epilogue though... I'm looking forward to reading more by this author.

This was such a fabulous read. I had moments when I laughed out loud and moments when I felt that lump in my throat beginning to form. From sarcastic Merrit to the quiet Mr Yoon, this book is filled with loveable and quirky characters. If you're a fan of The Dead Romantics, this is for you!

To me this book had strong vibes of The Good Place - Delphie's found herself in a bit of a pickle after choking on a microwave burger and ending up in Evermore in what appears to be a launderette...

There in the holding area she meets mysterious guy and there's an instant spark of connection - he's not actually dead though and Delphie can't believe her bad luck.

Then she's given a deal of a lifetime - return to earth and find the mystery man and get him to kiss her of his own free will within 10 days - simple right??

What follows is a real journey of discovery for Delphie, facing up to and dealing with all the shit she's spent years ignoring and hiding from.

I thoroughly enjoyed this, Delphie reminds me a lot of Eleanor from TGP. The story deals with a lot of big sensitive themes in a really accessible manner - lighthearted with a bit of bite.

This book was the perfect blend of humour and sadness. I loved experiencing the characters develop and the twists that evolved with it. I devoured this book in 3 days which is very quick for me! Would recommend this as a feel good read for anyone that needs a little pick me up.

I had a lot of fun with Kirsty Greenwood’s debut novel and can see why so many people love it so much.

After choking on a microwave burger, Delphie finds herself in a laundromat style environment in the afterlife where she’s greeted by a handsome guy she is now convinced is her soulmate. The stranger is returned to earth following a glitch in the system and Delphie’s afterlife therapist gifts her the chance to return to earth and find him. The catch is she has 10 days to find him and make him fall in love with her. Oh and also he can’t remember her and she doesn’t have much info to go after.

This was daft and giddy but so much fun in places!

I tried reading this a while ago but I found it quite silly. I know some people like this genre, but it felt quite shallow and I didn't feel interested in continuing.

The writing itself was fine but the content wasn't for me.
