*Many thanks to Andrew Kenny, Cranthorpe Millner Publishers, and NetGalley for arc in exchange for my honest review.*
The book was a challenge for me to read since it read like an account of daily police work, with characters that left me indifferent throughout, and the plot that did not keep me at the edge of my sofa. I rolled my eyes while reading about the main character's grief and at the same time his dreams about his superior's wife. I would expect better writing and character develpment.

Wow this book has so much tension right from the get go! This book follows the life of a police detective whose wife and unborn child recently passed away. He is deep in grief and harbouring somewhat of a guilty conscience.

On top of that he is consumed with a dark twisted work case following a deceased girl who couldn’t be saved and an unknown killer who has thus far evaded capture. All hope seems lost and it seems like an impossible task just to make it through the day and survive all this chaos and death consuming him.

This is an excellent read if you are into unsolved murder cases, detective / police investigative work and endless twists and turns.

I read through this so quickly, turning the pages just to try and find out where the story was going. The author did a great job of building and maintaining a lot of tension and I spent the majority of the time on the edge of my seat. I really felt for the main character and wanted the best for him.

Thank you to NetGalley and Cranthorpe Millner Publishers for a copy of this book
