I read Book 1 to prepare for this ARC and I am glad I did. You could read it as a standalone but it's much better once you know the backstory. I love me a good spy thriller and this one did not disappoint. I could see this actually happening in real life, which is terrifying! This was my 1st read of Mark Dawson's books but will not be my last! I need to keep up with Charlie Cooper!

Cooper is part of Group 15 and he needs to get near to Igor Sidorov to complete his assignment. But that will not be easy, so he must blend in and be unthreatening to kill his target. He must become like a chameleon.

Well written and well narrated novel (I listened to the audiobook). Enjoyed the pace and the characters. A short book packed with action, enjoy.

A quick listen from the Group 15 universe. Although short there's plenty of action and intrigue. Good characters and pacing. The narration very good with clear accents so you know whose talking. I received this audiobook from W F Howes and Netgalley for a review.

Mark Dawson's excellent Group 15 universe continues to grow with this second outing from operative Charlie Cooper, nicknamed 'The Chameleon'. His ability to pull off unassuming bureaucrat, whilst being a mission orientated stone cold killer and to assess, re-evaluate and react to the curve-balls thrown his way make him a compelling character. Combined with Dawson's action packed and fast paced style this is yet another gripping listen.

Mark Dawson has delivered another fast paced espionage thriller. Possibly his best yet, I’ve devoured it in a single sitting and listened through the night. This tale has Cooper going undercover by infiltrating a private sector organisation that’s trying to help a Russian oligarch gain credibility. It’s very much a game of cross and double cross; is the Russian a double agent, will Cooper be able to deliver his ultimate target and who’ll be disposed of along the way?

The narration throughout was excellent with a wide range of character voices adding to the drama. I found the insight into the way in which foreign nationals are able to manipulate acceptance overseas, particularly those who wish to settle in the UK and influence the government. Horribly plausible. The final scenes are particularly tense as Cooper works his way towards his ultimate goal. I wasn’t sure how it would end and my only disappointment is the fact I’ve finished the story so quickly. Great escapist fiction with more than a hint of truth.
