unfortunately this one wasn't for me. I think the writing was great, but it felt out of my realm. there were a few stories I enjoyed, but a few were quote confusing for me. I think this was a me problem + not an issue with the book.
This collection of short stories by Cayley is truly exceptional, captivating my interest and leaving me impressed, despite veering from my typical reading preferences. Cayley skillfully strikes a delicate balance between realism and absurdity in each tale, ensuring that they are well-paced and of optimal length – neither rushed nor dragging. Reading through this anthology felt akin to indulging in a box of exquisite chocolates, each story offering a unique and delightful experience.
This was such an interesting collection of short stories. I think this is a great book to pick-up and put down. If you enjoy anthology stories, I recommend.
Easy-to-read and quirky these stories were a pleasant change of pace for me. I liked they left me thinking about what I just learned from each character. Solid writing and very creative. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
