Unfortunately this one wasn’t for me. Usually I am a fan of second chance romance but this one didn’t feel earned. I couldn’t quite get on board with Hailey’s reasons for leaving, or her decisions around cutting off her former friends. Once Jesse and Hailey meet back up, they jump right back into a physical relationship - it felt very instalove. The mystery plot started out very interesting but resolved quite a little too quickly, and unsatisfactorily for such a large conspiracy. It was still a good read, but this one wasn’t a hit for me.

Fighting for Hailey is the first book in an exciting new series. So many new interesting characters to get to know. Be prepared to hit the ground running from the first page.

Hailey, Easton, Jesse and Cash were foster siblings, very close until Hailey suddenly takes off to join the Marines after high school, and refused to respond to any of them. The boys were hurt, because they did not understand why she did it. Jesse became wealth developing apps, Cash became wealthy investing in Jesse and Easton is a genius, and is working on research for ALS and Alzheiner's. Easton's work is funded by Jesse. When Hailey returned state side, she joined Redemption Harbor Security, a private investigation firm, that helped those to fight back against the system that was supposed to be protecting them. Nine years after she ran away, Hailey and Jesse, former lovers, come face to face, after Easton is kidnapped, and they along with Cash are hell bent on finding him. This time, Jess is not going to let Hailey run.

Terrific writing, interesting characters, a second chance love story, mystery and adventure all wrap in one.exciting book. I read a gift advance readers copy from NetGalley.com. This is my honest, unbiased and voluntary review.

This was my first Katie Reus book, and I have to say I'm a fan! I don't usually love security/cop books because they're just not my thing. However, it was well written, fun, and suspenseful. I love when it's not 100% obvious what's going to happen in a novel, especially a romance novel. It was a fantastic read!

I love second chance romance and add to it this is a Redemption Harbor spin-off series - I am loving it already!!

Jesse and Hailey are thrown back together years after Hailey left Jesse and went into the military. Their friend was kidnapped and time is ticking away and they put aside their past to figure out where to look and work together.

This book was filled with drama, romance, and mystery. I could not put it down until I got to the end and made sure there was a HEA along with a rescue!

Great start to this series and can't wait for the next one to come out.

This book was enjoyable - but the story line was boring. The author has become predicable in her stories.

Cannot say it enough, I do love this writer! I pick up one of her books and can’t put it down. That’s a good book! Fighting for Hailey is no exception! When Haileys foster brother his kidnapped she sets out to find who did it and to bring him home! She has the skills to do it, but she also knows there will be complications, and Jesse is a big one!

If you liked Katie Reus' Red Stone Security series, you will love the Redemption Harbor series. And not just because it's a spin off! There is so much love, family, and friendship just in this first book that had me completely involved within the first chapter. I want to know so much more about these characters. But to kick things off, this was Hailey's story. And she has been through a lot. Between her foster friends and found family, she also had a lot of walls built up and took off because she believed they needed to grow without her. They didn't agree. Especially Jesse. He has had strong feelings for her since they were kids and now he has found her again. But now they're adults and he makes it clear he won't lose her a second time.

When her friend Easton is kidnapped, Hailey jumps into action to do whatever is necessary to get him back. She is an accomplished marine and a member of Redemption Harbor security. Which tells you she is completely capable of taking care of herself. But she does realize that she needs to ask for help along with realizing that when it comes to Jesse, she doesn't have to ask. This book kept me on the edge of my seat, had me swooning pretty much throughout the entire thing, and had me flipping through the pages as quickly as I could to find out what happened while simultaneously wishing I could slow down so that it would last longer. But the good news is that the end definitely sets you up for the next book in the series and I can't wait!

First of all I would like to think the Author Collective 20 for providing me an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is the story of Hailey, security consultant, who is back in her home town after her foster brother Eaton is kidnapped. While investigating the kidnapping Hailey runs into Jesse, her first love, who demands they work together to figure out what is happening. While they try to find Eaton, Hailey is forced to spend time with the people she abandoned and fight the pull she has toward Jesse as she won't ever allow herself to hurt him.

What I loved:
Found family, not only is the foursome who grew up in foster care together a found family, Hailey also found a family in the Redemption Harbor team and who doesn't love a found family
Second Chance Romance, I love a second chance romance especially when someone leaves the first time to "protect" the other cause there are ALWAYS feelings still there and I love to see how they coax each other to admit it
Twist, romantic suspense is my favorite genre and I love when there is a twist that I wasn't expecting and this one really did surprise me in the end
Made good, I love that in this book you learn that all of the kids who grew up in foster care together ended up overcoming their origins and made names for themselves sometimes alone and sometimes with help from each other
Jesse, he never stopped loving Hailey and I just love that throughout the entire book even though Hailey is more experienced in a lot of the higher danger activities he is always ready and willing to step in and keep her safe

I am so exited that Katie Reus is writing a new series because I just love her storytelling and world/family building in her series. Anyone out there who is looking for a romantic suspense book that has a great cast of characters, found family and an amazing second chance romance, please go pick up this book!

This is book one in a new exciting series. I love reading books where the guy is the one fighting for the relationship. He knows what he wants and he will pull out all the stops to get it. This is definitely a great love and lost book. Hailey fights so hard to not give in, even if she feels the same way but just doesn't want to admit it. I am intrigued to see how this series unfolds with the rest of the characters.

Ms. Reus is one of my favorite authors, and this was an eagerly awaited new series. Having recently read some of her older material, I thought this book had more emotional insight and a slightly more tempered alpha male character, which I thought was a good thing. I can't wait to read the stories of the adjacent characters!

This is book one in The Redemption Harbor Security Series - this one is Jesse and Hailey's story. And it did not disappoint!!! This is definitely a must for 2024 if you love suspense...Hailey grew up in foster care, she went from one family to another but eventually found a home and a loving family in the form of three guys: Jesse, Cash & Easton. She had such a special bond with Jesse and they fell in love and were always together. But Jesse got a great opportunity to make something of his life. So...Hailey broke everything off and joined the marines....
Jesse never stopped loving Hailey and him and the guys started sending her letters when they found out she joined the marines but... Hailey never answered. When Hailey eventually sees Jesse again he tells her he still loves her and swears he will never let het go again. However Hailey is keeping a secret and is scared that once he finds out he will never want to see her again.
4 Star rating for me... I cannot wait to read book 2!

An enjoyable read to kick off a new series (but with familiar characters)

I liked both Hailey and Jesse and loved how the story switched between their history and the present, giving lots of context for their feelings.

I also loved both Cash and Easton and am hoping they both get their own stories in this series too

Intriguing and interesting, the storyline moved between the drama and the romance elements well, weaving a very enjoyable book.

A new series, new characters, with a glimpse fo the olden and golden characters making a welcome appearance.

Katie Reus’s new series, Redemption Harbor Security” spears ahead with Jessie Lenox “Fighting For Haley”, to keep her in his life. A self made millionaire rising from the ashes of foster care, Jessie always had a soft spot for Haley that grew into love. But circumstances and life has a way of coming in between two lovers, driving them apart. Years later, fate gives Haley and Jessie another chance at love as all the foster siblings come together to save one of their very own.

I like these new characters in her new series. Loyal, faithful and devoted to each other, I’d love to see the rest of the siblings finding their true love.

Spin off from Redemption Harbor! I loved Hailey and Jesse! The Jesse/Cash/Easton foster sibling relationships were amazing. I cannot wait to see more from these guys.

I am thrilled I picked this book up. I love a good intrigue, suspense story.

Hailey has not had it easy in her life. Her youth was rough, and with her found family Cash, Easton, and Jesse, they made it work. But one of them is in trouble, and Hailey feels she brought the trouble.

Jesse is protective of Hailey. He lost her once, and he plans not to let it happen again. I love their relationship. There are letters that help to enhance the story and share what these people mean to each other.

She might have left them, but she never forgot them. In the Army she lived for the notes and care packages, even if she couldn’t respond. Her found family just didn’t need her holding them back. Especially Jesse, he was destined for great thing and would have a better life without her.
He might have created a life for himself, and be doing great things with his business. Though that something is missing from his life even if he won’t admit it. Then when that something needs him, he’s ready to step up to the plate for her, and this time he’s not letting her get away.
I loved this dysfunctional found family, and their friends. Found or not, not all been together for years, it didn’t matter they were family and all in. Looking forward to Hailey’s brother Cash and friend Reese’s story next
