Thank you to NetGalley for this chance. I enjoyed the story in general but i feel like i read it before not word for word but it became predictable to me and i got bored with figuring it out before it happened. I wasnt surprised at all. I love the way the author wrote this so its not bad or horrible just not one i would read again.

This is really 4.5 star
Wow. This is a Rollercoaster of emotions. I went in blind, with a idea of "second chance romance". But we went through aloy to get there.

Following Nolan through life and love and Betrayal with a tiny hint of taboo. But I loved it. I am writing this immediately after finishing it, and the more I think about it, the more i adore it.

This is the 1st C.A. Rene book I have read, and I noticed it may be the least dark, but I will for sure check out others.

I loved this book as I fell in love with the main character, Nolan! A story told from his POV of how the love he had for one girl effected him for decades after. Similar to Jack and Rose in Titanic, 2 soles coming together from different class backgrounds, friends to lovers, him saving her from a suicide attempt plus tragedy did later follow however there was a happy ending for Nolan, he just had to wait. There were lots of twists and turns that kept me hooked and I loved all the characters. The story was very well written throughout and would recommend this book, especially to romance seekers, but beware there were quite a few lows for poor Nolan but we see he gets what he truly wants in the end! There is quite a bit of spice throughout the book which was great as I said I really did like him!

DNF at 20%! I see other reviews that people love what this author writes and that this book is really good. I’m not able to get into the writing style or feel connected to the POV. Different than I expected it to be. Maybe would’ve been able to get into it more if I had been familiar with the authors previous work!

‘Fighting the Tide’ tells of teenage lust and adult love. The issues are at times confronting and are dealt with brutal honesty. The story held my attention from the very beginning. The story is told from Nolan’s perspective and his relationships with friends, lovers, and family members. The pain and emotion is quite intense, at times, but it never felt as if there was hopeless.
Without revealing too much, this is a book worth reading and one that will leave you thinking, long after the last page is read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I was drawn to the title, then the cover and the blurb left me needing to know more.
100% Male POV, such a rarity.
I was captivated by the writing. I needed to take regular pauses because it was angst-y and sometimes overwhelming.
A great read, definitely go in blind. The ending may leave some happy and some underwhelmed. Would I still read this knowing the outcome? Yes!
Thank you net galley and the author for the opportunity to read and review!

I received this novel from the publisher as an ARC on Netgalley. This novel I was hopeful for however it feel flat for me. I really did like the characters but parts of the story drug on, but other parts were too quickly done. Overall a good read but I wouldn’t reread.
