'Done and Dusted' kickstarted a love of cowboy romance for me and ended up being one of my favourite books of 2023 so I obviously had to read this as soon as it landed on my Kindle.
Setting is incredibly important to me and Rebel Blue Ranch and the small town of Meadowlark in Wyoming are so wonderfully vivid and alive. Sometimes in romance I find that that is the only focus and while there is often character development, the setting is usually secondary, but it's vital to 'Swift and Saddled' and it adds so much depth and colour to the romance. And I love the romance.
The dynamic between Ada and Wes is pure angst and teasing and it's divine. The tension that Sage builds between them is wonderful and I raced through it in two sittings, I was so desperate to see what happened between them.
So much about the Rebel Blue Ranch series is about home and found family and combining that with romance just gets my heart going, especially when cowboys are involved.
I have the paperback pre-ordered and I'm so excited to add it to my shelves - don't even get me started on my excitement for book three announced at the end of this...
Thank you to NetGalley and Quercus for the review copy!

I'll start by saying just how cute the book cover is. It's adorable.
I very much enjoyed this small town cowboy romance. I love a small town setting and this Blue Ranch series delivers. I read and enjoyed book one in the series, Done and Dusted, but I found this book more compelling, I think because I was invested in Wes's story. I'd wanted to learn about him since reading book one. He is my favourite type of hero, the lovable cinnamon roll hero who is kind and thoughtful yet firm when he need to be. I loved him.
I also enjoyed Ada's story arc, the girl who turned up in Rebel Blue Ranch was very different t the girl we find at the end of the book, a girl who finds her way and her voice because of Wes and the rest of the Ryder family. Their love story I found to be authentic and believable. I found it so heartwarming.
The only thing that stopped this book being a five star read for me were the spicy scenes. I'm not a huge fan of them, so skipped them, but that's just my taste.
So overall I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading book three in the series.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC.

want to start off by saying i love the first book and see the potential in this series. however going into this i knew i wasn’t going to enjoy it and i was right. honestly i just wanted luke and emmy crumbs and to see more build up for the gus and teddy’s book. the chemistry just wasn’t there for me with wes and ada i didn’t really feel any connection to them. i think if we had spent more time with wes in book one and also met ada earlier i might have liked it more. however happy that we got some set up for book 3 & 4 in this one i think ill enjoy them more
*arc received from netgalley in exchange for an honest review

how have I only just found out about this series??? thank you for a gifted early copy of this book netgalley! it was everything I needed and I’m totally in my cowboy era. The writing is seamless, the reader is drawn in immediately and who doesn’t love a work place romance?

This is the second book in a series and the second one I have read. Honestly, I didn't love the first one, but I am glad I read it because it's important to have some background on the characters and their relationship with each other.
This book centres around Wes, this middle brother of the Ryder family. He's always been the nice one but he doesn't necessarily want nice in a woman. Which is maybe why he is drawn to Ada, who is the prickly designer who he has hired to help renovate one of the family properties into a bed & breakfast.
Although the chemistry between the two is immediately apparent, Ada has been through some stuff, and tries to keep things between them professional. But even though Wes is a gentleman at all times, his kindness and the fact that he is so earnest breaks down her walls.
Wes is an absolutely gorgeous character. He seemed a bit tepid when we meet him in the first book as his siblings are more forthright and seem to have strong personalities. But Wes' strength comes from his quiet ability to make everyone he loves feel seen, and still waters run deep.
Ada describes herself as anti-social but when she's vulnerable with Wes, it's easy to see why he's drawn to her. She's protecting herself and that's why she finds it hard to form connections with people.
I loved the way the story unfolded to reveal little parts of their personalities. It's spicy too, but I found it mostly really romantic.
I'm really looking forward to reading Teddy and Gus' book.
I received an ARC of this book from Quercus Books and Netgalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

MINOR SPOILERS IN REVIEW!
4 STARS
I knew I was going to love this, simply because it was Weston's story. I had such a massive soft spot for him in Done and Dusted, so I knew his book would deliver.
The romance was so beautifully set up. Both Ada and West are the perfect combination of vulnerable and determined to take care of the other, which is such a great dynamic to read.
I wish there had been more by way of exploring her divorce. There's a scene towards the end of it where her ex-husband calls, but nothing comes of it, which is disappointing to say the least! Felt like a bit of a wasted/pointless scene. It would also have been good to see more of Wes' depression and how it affected him - I think there were a few scenes throughout where it could've been touched on a little more.
Overall, I'm loving this series so far and can't wait for Gus' book! Single dad with no ex-wife drama? Give it to me.
Thank you to Netgalley and Lyla Sage for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Rating: 4.5 stars ⭐️
If you like cozy cowboy romances, this is definitely a series for you! 🤠
I was sooo happy to receive this arc because this book was such an anticipated release for 2024!
The story begins with Ada Hart, she is an interior designer and hired for a job in Wyoming at Ranch Rebel Blue. After her divorce, she left everything behind to find her own path.
When she arrives in Meadowlark, Wyoming, Ada goes to a bar called Devil's Boot. There she meets Weston Ryder with whom she had an immediate connection.
The next morning they see each other again and realize that they had spoken by e-mail before because, as it turns out, Wes is her new employer...
I found it very interesting that the author wanted to make certain topics discussable in this book such as major depressive disorder.
Thanks to Netgalley, Lyla Sage and Quercus Books for providing this copy. All opinions are my own.

Book two in the series. I adored book one, so this was a must, and I was lucky enough to get an arc through netgalley. In this story, we see Ada and Wes's story. From the first chapter, these two were drawn to each other. With Ada working on Wes's new house, can they fall in love, or will it purely be a working employer/employee relationship? I loved both these characters. The ranch setting. All of Wez's family are so warm and welcoming. I loved how we got to see some of the previous characters from book one. I squeeled at the sneak peak of book three at the back. I loved this even more than book one if that is possible, and I'm so excited for book three already. Highly recommend. A well-deserved five stars from me. Cute. Homely. Romantic. Cowboy. Girl boss.

When I tell you a screamed when this arc dropped in my inbox I’m not exaggerate, it was the longest day ever in work waiting to rush out the door and get home.
Done and dusted was one of my favourite comfort reads last year and swift and saddled will fall into the same box, with all the amazing side characters through the first 2 books setting up Possible stories for future books I am Confident the whole series is going to be a firm favourite.
With Wes our Mmc as the perfect cowboy book boyfriend with a golden retriever energy. And Ada our FMC dealing with her own in securities and trust issues whilst trying to Portray herself as a strong independent women this book is 5🌟.
It’s worth mentioning that like done and dusted don’t be fooled by the cover this book also has a lovely sprinkling of spice.
I know this book is not published yet but, I’ve already added the next book on my TBR

I need myself a ranch running cowboy!!!
What a delightful read this book was. It was so refreshing to see a different take on depression and how it looks for different people without making it the backbone of the whole story.
I loved the "Whoops, I kissed my boss" start, right through to the happily ever after. Reading it just filled me with a buzz of happiness.
It's a super easy read; that'll leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside.

Queen Lyla Sage has outdone herself! Wes and Ada's story was beyond my imagination – the writing effortlessly connected, comforting, and truly engaging. The lighthearted and fun tone was complemented by a refreshing portrayal of mental health through Wes's perspective.
Satisfying my need for a black cat x golden retriever trope, this book scratched that itch perfectly. Ada's journey of self-healing and growth, paired with Wes embodying the ideal book boyfriend, made this an irresistible read. Wes Ryder has secured a spot on my list of favorite book men.
Highlights include the strong sense of family and community at Rebel Blue Ranch, delightful banter among the characters, Wes's subtle yet profound expressions of love for Ada, and the relatable inner dialogue of Ada. The nuanced representation of mental health, especially with a male protagonist, adds depth to the narrative.
This book was everything I needed, evoking constant giggles and smiles. I eagerly anticipate Teddy and Gus's story. Many thanks to Dial Press, Lyla, and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

After reading Done and Dusted, i was so excited to read this book and i think it may be my favourite! i loved the complexity of the characters, especially Ada and how Weston responded. I will be buying this book when it comes out

Lyla Sage's 'Swift and Saddled' weaves a charming small-town Cowboy romance, unfolding the captivating story of Ada, an interior designer hired by Wes, a charismatic cowboy, to decorate his house. This book touched my heart profoundly. Wes, the epitome of a Golden Retriever, exudes warmth and care, turning every page into a delightful journey. His attentive and genuine love for everyone is truly heartwarming.
The exploration of mental health is commendable, portraying Ada, a more gloomy character haunted by past relationships and fears, in a relatable and intriguing light. The Greek representation adds a charming touch, and as a huge fan of spanakopita and a Greek , it brings an extra layer of enjoyment.
The love story between Ada and Wes is enchanting. The way they meet, the progression of their relationship – it all adds up to a beautifully crafted narrative. I'm immensely grateful for the opportunity to experience this book as an Arc . The emotional depth in the writing is truly captivating, making every moment with these characters memorable.
Wes emerges as one of the sweetest male main characters I've encountered, and his interactions are nothing short of adorable. The heartwarming quality of his words is felt in every sentence. His unwavering support for Ada, clear intentions, and deep understanding make him a standout character. Ada, as the interior designer hired by Wes, adds an extra layer to their connection, making their love story even more special.
The portrayal of family bonds among the characters is outstanding. The dynamics are impeccably portrayed, making this book a flawless five-star read. Every emotion is vividly described, creating a realistic and immersive experience. 'Swift and Saddled' is not just a romance; it's a heartwarming journey that leaves a lasting impression. Thank you, Lyla Sage, for crafting such a perfect and emotionally resonant story.

I'm a huge fan of small town romances with cowboys. And Wes is the dreamiest cowboy there is! Ada is so lovely, and the combination of them both and their chemistry is just top tier romance. It's a bit spicy, incredibly cute and overall a fantastic second book in this series by Lyla Sage! I can't wait for the next, I want more of these brothers!

Thank you, Netgalley, Quercus and Lyla for the digital ARC!
I loved Done and Dusted but Swift and Saddled is THAT BOOK. A 6-star read!!
Wes is the perfect cowboy book boyfriend with a golden retriever energy. I already liked him when he appeared in D&D but he totally gain my heart in this book. He's already the BOOK BOYFRIEND OF THE YEAR!!
And Ada.. well let's just say that I related strongly with her. She's someone who's trying to persue her dreams while dealing with her own insecurities and trust issues. Ada is someone who closes herself from everything that could hurt her but she learns how to let other's love her in this book.
I know this book is not published yet but, I'm already counting the days for Lost and Lassoed (AHHHHH I screamed of excitement when I saw the name).
I'm definitly obsessed with the Rebel Blue Ranch.

I absolutely loved this book. Weston and Ada are the best couple ever and I loved them from the beginning. Weston was really sweet and caring which made me fall in love with him completely. I loved how independent Ada was, it’s refreshing to see a romance where a woman doesn’t rely on the man completely

Just when I thought I couldn’t love cowboys more…
I became invested in the characters from the get go, this book covers deeper topics like depression and domestic abuse whilst keeping it lighthearted enough to keep going!
I love love love the characters and can not wait for the release!! This is officially my new favourite cowboy series

DNF
The first chapter of this book had a strong start. I liked how quickly we got to know our fmc and both her and the mmc definitely come across as likeable characters, which is a nice positive to this book. However, it then all goes downhill from chapter two onwards (or at least until chapter 8 bc that’s how far I got)
The characters meet for the first time in chapter one at like 10pm at a bar and share a steamy kiss. By the next day (chapter two) the fmc is already daydreaming about the mmc and wondering what kind of things he could do to her and then the mmc is already getting jealous bc the fmc mentioned another man’s name during casual conversation… Huh???? After one day you’re feeling possessive over her? Give me a break🙄
I heavily dislike insta lust or insta love in romance books and so it doesn’t come as a surprise that I haven’t enjoyed what I’ve read so far. The writing on the other hand was fine, I liked that the chapters were short and fairly quick to read and I think I’ll maybe consider reading another book by this author, just unfortunately it won’t be this one.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sending me an early copy in exchange for my honest review.

this book was absolutely a heart warming & beautiful read once again and I needed this after done & dusted.
i loved both ada & wes, completely adored them, i really loved the men’s mental health rep as wes kept worrying about his next dark day, it was so nice to see that men’s mental health is getting recognised more.
again, i wish i had more of this book, it always feels too short for me with these types of romances - maybe a little bit longer but that’s not really a bad criticism. i really enjoy lyla sages writing style and how easy it is to pull you in and has you hooked.
**I RECEIVED AN ARC IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW**

I love Rebel Blue Ranch! I was so excited to receive this ARC after how much I loved Done & Dusted, and I highly recommend this series to everyone! I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Wes & Ada but their story didn’t feel as natural to me as Emmy & Luke’s. My favourite thing about this instalment was the side characters, which was a shame but does mean I will absolutely pick up the next one! If I could give half stars this would be a solid 3.5, just shy of 4 stars, it was fun, sweet and sexy, but it didn’t make me giddy the way I like a romance novel to.
