This book is honestly unlike anything I’ve read before. It starts with Georgie realizing she never really thought about not having a dad, until suddenly she does start thinking about it. And instead of just sitting with the feeling, she goes all in. posting actual “dad wanted” ads, meeting up with strangers, and basically trying to audition father figures

It was touch and go for me to read this as I also grew up without a dad so I’m aware of those conflicting feelings of abandonment, betrayal, unbothered-ness, happiness and gratefulness for everything my mum and my other family members (Nana, grandad, uncle, auntie etc) did for me alongside friends mums and dads.

I won’t share anything about this book other than the fact that it’s a fab read. Definitely approach with caution if this is something you feel you can relate to but honestly it really is a great story & very much a ‘find yourself / find your people’ kinda situation.

*"Never Had a Dad" by Georgie Codd is a heart-wrenching yet hopeful memoir that explores the complexities of growing up without a father figure. Codd's candid storytelling captures the raw emotions of loss, longing, and self-discovery, making this book deeply relatable for anyone who has faced similar struggles. Her journey toward understanding and healing is both inspiring and uplifting. With humor, vulnerability, and a keen sense of resilience, Codd sheds light on the importance of identity, family, and acceptance. A beautifully written and powerful narrative that resonates long after the last page is turned.*

A refreshingly 'different' type of novel. Moments of hilarity, and moments of poignancy too. I found it to be thought provoking at times.
I would recommend this book to others..
