This is the second book I’ve read by Sarah Ready and she hasn’t disappointed yet. Switched is the ideal read for romantics and nerds alike. It’s quirky, fun, and full of charm. Highly recommend!

If you’re a sucker for opposites attract, fish-out-of-water shenanigans, and stories that remind you love can be found in the most unexpected places (like, say, a quantum entanglement situation?), you’re gonna EAT THIS UP. 🥰

Honestly, this was such a delightful rom-com – full of laugh-out-loud moments, tender bits where I was like “omg just kiss already,” and the absolute joy of seeing two people realise that maybe love is a lot like physics – chaotic, but kinda magical if you let it be.

this book is certainly different but a enjoyable read telling the story of 2 so called scientists who experience a electrical shock between them which puts them into each others body henry is serena and serena is henry and this is where the story begins so now enjoy the ups and downs of it and of course a happy ending to finish

If there is one thing that I absolutely LOVE, it's a freaky friday situation. Two people who couldn't be any more different switching bodies? GIVE ME IT. So Switched was immediately so so high on my tbr. It has all the 00' rom com vibes I needed while also feeling like a breath of fresh air. The writing is so so much fun and I immediately felt immersed in this world. It had everything I needed in a modernised version of this body-switcheroo trope. I mean, Henry experiencind a period? Priceless. This was funny and cute but also had depth. I absolutely adored it.

Switched is such a fun, feel-good romance with a crazy twist-think Freaky Friday, but with more physics and falling in love. Serena is a no-nonsense physicist, and Henry is a buttoned-up Brit. After one intense (and kind of awkward) first meeting, a freak storm literally swaps them into each other’s bodies. Chaos, hilarity, and a surprising amount of heart ensue.
I loved how the body swap also helped them see the world through each other’s eyes. Watching them go from misunderstanding to connection felt super rewarding. Serena is funny, driven, and refreshingly not a damsel in distress. Henry’s grumpy but sweet underneath it all.
Overall, it’s quirky, sweet, and surprisingly deep. Definitely recommend it if you're into magical realism, body-swap chaos, and heartfelt rom-coms.

I actually enjoyed this. It’s almost awkward funny, and we have anxious moments that got my heart pounding (specially when she gets a flashback from his memories )
Thank you so much to NetGalley for the advanced reader copy!

This was a fun, opposites-attract rom-com packed with science, sparks, and swoon-worthy moments! Switched delivers an entertaining mix of humor, heart, and just the right touch of nerdy charm.

Serena and Henry had fantastic chemistry—their dynamic was equal parts witty banter and undeniable attraction. Their differences made for some hilarious (and sometimes chaotic) moments, though I would have loved a bit more time for their emotional connection to build.

That said, if you love quirky, smart rom-coms with lovable characters, a dash of science, and plenty of sizzling tension, Switched is a great pick. It’s fast, fun, and filled with charm!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC—this review is entirely my own.

Have you ever wanted to live in someone else's shoes? That is literally what happens here. It's very Freaky Friday but with scientists and there's kissing. Serena and Henry meet, have an amazing night and then she finds out the next day that he's her new boss. The situation turns awkward quickly and the two keep things professional until a freak accident that has them switching bodies. I enjoyed the perspective of each character as they faced life in a new body. I mean let's face it, I don't know about you but I have often pondered what I would do if I woke up tomorrow in as a person with a penis. The answer is I'd go to a dive bar and enjoy peeing standing up with little to no lines to get in. But I digress. I thought this book was fun, loved the puns and the Star Trek and the interactions with each other's families.

I thought Ghosted was just okay but this one was miles better in my opinion. I think each book could standalone just fine so if you tried Ghosted and maybe didn't think it was all that great, give this one a try. There was nothing wrong with Ghosted, I just liked this one so much better.

This was such a fun premise for a romcom and I was a bit concerned going in how it might be executed but I needn't have worried one bit, this whole book was a delight. Funny and sweet and silly and romantic.

I didn't realise until I was halfway through that this is part of a series but it didn't matter at all and it functioned very well as a standalone.

The romance was charming, I had to suspend disbelief a bit around the swapping/love story just because I'm not sure I could ever fall in love with my own face! But it's so well done and so humourous that I sort of forgot how weird it would actually be for this to happen!

Definitely an author I will read more of following this book!

✨ARC Review✨. Thank you NetGalley. All the opinions expressed are my own.

First of all, this book was hilarious. However, all the physics talk in the beginning was a little off putting and I found myself skipping over them. This was such a fun and easy ready. I, especially, enjoyed Serena and Henry switching bodies and them navigating their new realities. Highly recommend checking this book out.

This was my first read from Sarah Ready, and I didn’t realise there was a book before this one! That said, I had no trouble following along, and Switched works perfectly as a standalone. Ready does a fantastic job of exploring the comedic and heartfelt implications of such a swap. Watching Serena navigate Henry's structured world and vice versa led to numerous laugh-out-loud moments, as well as deeper reflections on identity and empathy. The chemistry between the protagonists is palpable, and their journey from misunderstanding to mutual respect and affection is both engaging and satisfying. However, there were moments when the pacing felt a bit uneven, especially during the initial setup. Once the body swap occurs, the story gains momentum and keeps you hooked, but getting there required a bit of patience.

Overall, Switched is a fun, heart-warming read that offers a fresh twist on the romantic comedy genre. If you're looking for a story that combines scientific intrigue with a touch of magic and a lot of heart, this book is definitely worth your time. I will definitely reading Sarah Ready's other books.

This was, like, next level STEM romance. Not only do you have two human beings existing in the world of STEM, but then you take it a step farther into the sci-fi/fantastical realm of literally switching bodies with the other main character?? So interesting!

Honestly, Serena was such a chaotic narrator and I was kinda here for it in a way. Not necessarily chaos in a bad way, but just so amusing to see how her thoughts bounced around and what exactly she’d come to think or say. The footnotes were an interesting touch and very on brand for the way Serena (aka Ducky)’s mind seemed to work. Not sure how it will translate into print, but for digital, the ability to bounce back and forth between main plot and footnote was a fascinating addition.

Now despite those intriguing aspects, I did have a hard time staying with the book with everything going on between the footnotes, the setup, etc. I enjoyed the difference to a point, but my easily distracted brain took waaaaaay too long to read. Like “nearly a year-long pause before returning” kind of too long to read. It’s just a lot and even after the pause and starting the story over again when I returned, my brain just took forever to connect to it.

The scientific references—while endearing in the characters’ enthusiasm for the subject—was hard to wrap my own brain around as someone not well-versed in most things scientific. I found myself skipping over a lot of the internal monologue trying to decipher the actual storyline for the romance that was promised in the book. Only to find love-at-first-sight (and subsequent first “sleepover”) which gives in to instant panic mode by the FMC—because she seems to be terrified of love and just found out he’s going to be her new boss—where she comes up with what has to be The Dumbest plan to get Henry to not pursue her. Utter chaos.

The story did get more engaging around the same time as the synopsis-mentioned body-switching moment. Certainly gave the whole “getting to know you” moment a whole new meaning which was hilarious. It’s two years later. They’ve been working together, though emotionally distantly. Freak storm hits while near a particle accelerator and BOOM! Body-swap. Once the romance got to romancing and the characters began working together to fix their situation while simultaneously learning about each other through the other’s literal eyes, the story ended up being rather sweet.

If you like opposites attract, sci-fi shenanigans kinda similar to Freaky Friday (only him and her versus mother/daughter), all the STEM talk, and a quirky yet chaotic narrator who’s a pro at the fourth wall break, check this one out.

Serena and Henry's Freaky-Friday-esque romance was the perfect follow up to Ghosted. I love how Sarah Ready takes such a unique approach to science and love while using that line between reality and possibility as a jump rope.

I typically LOVE sarah ready books but I think this one was too far fetched for me. I’d recommend all her other books but I can’t say this was a favorite for me.

I loved this book! Sarah Ready is one of my must read authors. She writes so beautifully and this book was no exception. I loved the premise of this book and this story was absolutely magical.

Switched by Sarah Ready is a delightful and quirky romantic comedy that explores love, identity, and the unexpected consequences of science. When two polar opposites, Serena Otaki and Henry Joule, meet at The Large Hadron Collider, sparks fly—but not the kind either of them expected. After an accident at the collider, they find themselves mysteriously switched into each other’s bodies. As Serena navigates Henry’s meticulously organized life and Henry grapples with Serena’s free-spirited chaos, both are forced to confront their preconceived notions about love and life. With witty banter, endearing characters, and a fun premise, Switched is a heartwarming exploration of how opposites can attract in the most surprising of ways.

This book was everything I needed and wanted. It was fun, engaging, and had a swoony type of romance that I will recommend to everyone. I went into the book without reading the others in the series, but that didn’t stop me from having a good understanding of the story and characters (which I was worried about). Now, I can't wait to read more books by Sarah in the future.
