Women in STEM…..freaky Friday like antics……and a HEA……sign me up!
This book follows Serena and Henry who have a one night stand before she realizes he’s her new boss AND she could fall in love with him (which is not okay).
Fast forward and suddenly they are freaky Fridayed into each others bodies. Let the hilarity ensue as they navigate life as each other.
I laughed out loud at this so many times. I’m sure people at work thought I was crazy.
The characters are fun and the annotations are both informative and funny. It’s nice to read female characters who aren’t just driven by the desire to find a man and get married!
The narration on this audiobook was done in a great way. They awkwardness came through in the narrators use of accents.
I recieved a ARC of this book from NetGalley and the publisher, all opinions are my own.

Freaky Friday romcom? Say less.

When Serena first meets Henry and he thinks it’s love at first sight, she brushes him off. She believes someone can only have one true love in their life, and physics is hers. Serena and Henry work at CERN where, two years after their first encounter, some weird physics/magic happens and they end up body swapped! They have to pretend to be the other around their families which is equal parts fun and heart-warming.

Switched is a cute, light, easy read, perfect for fans of Ali Hazelwood.

Tha narrator also did an excellent job!

I received an ALC through Netgalley for review. Thanks to netgalley and Sarah Ready for the ARC.

Finished in a day. I listened to this one and it was laugh out loud stop doing the dishes to focus kid of book. The STEM/STEAM books have been trendy lately and I’m here for it! Women in science! Relatable to me and probably to a lot of other women out there! The one night stand to lovers romance arc was fun to read and the weird switching bodies was a hilarious twist. I do have one question; what was with the glue in the booth? Last thing, corgis! The mention of corgis and the fact there’s so many mentions should be an auto 5 star book but that would be crazy right? Thank you NetGalley for providing this book in exchange of a honest review.

4.5 Stars rounded up
Another fun paranormal comedy romance from Sarah Ready. I listened to book 1, Ghosted, last year and loved the humour, so I was very excited when I recently saw Switched listed on NetGalley. I was not disappointed, and had a lot of laughs listening to this audio book. The book is predominantly narrated by Kelsey, with James making a brief appearance towards the end of the book. The characters and emotions were captured perfectly, and it was easy to keep track of the characters. Henry's English accent was most unusual, but once I got past that it didn't bother me anymore.
I don't read a lot of sci-fi books, and there are, of course, a lot of sci-fi/space references in this one, but I really enjoyed it.
I enjoyed getting to know Serena better throughout the story and gaining some insight into her views on love and 'attachment'. I was frustrated with her at times, but that shows the author had me totally invested in the characters. I particularly loved the footnotes! Henry is a very likeable character too, with some issues of his own. I loved that each character had flashbacks or memories of the body they inhabit, and the reader gets to know each character well through these. There is much hilarity as Serena and Henry each get to know their new body and have to stay in character so those around them don't pick up on the switch that has taken place!

Although this is part of a series, I feel that it can be read as a stand-alone. Well worth checking it out if you enjoy quirky, fun, romance books. I'll be eagerly awaiting Sarah's next book!

Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers, and Sarah Ready for an advanced audio book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

Thank you NetGalley for the advance audiobook! Switched by Sarah Ready is a witty romance novel with a twist. When Serena, a physicist, has an unfortunate mishap in a coffee shop which sets off a strange set of events. When she meets, Henry, during this awkward moment she's just up for a one-night stand. Love, for Serena, is not in the cards. Then, a freak accident on a stormy night, changes her destiny. Whether you believe in love at first sight or not this is a witty read with a very unique undertone. I love the narrator, Kelsey Navarro Foster! She doesn't read the novel but rather tells the story. I found myself drawn in by the sound of her voice. I also liked the added second narrator, James Anderson Foster, near the end of the novel. I would have liked to have heard the second narrator throughout the novel. I think if would have made the story a little easier to follow. Especially once they had switched. Overall it was a cute rom-com that I would recommend to others.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Spice: 🌶️🌶️/5

Switched tells the story of two CERN scientists, and how a freak accident gives them a second chance at their relationship as well as perspective about themselves.

Serena Otaki’s first and only love is science. Solely focused on her career, this messy, semi-chaotic whirlwind finds herself in a heap of trouble when she unknowingly has a romantic entanglement with her new boss.

Henry Joules’ life is focused on order: a clean apartment, a solid career and a strong relationship with his family. When he collides with Serena, his life will never be the same.

After a one-night stand which resulted in Henry professing love at first sight sending Serena to the hills, the two have to somehow find a way to work together without being unprofessional. Smash cut to a year later, and an electrical storm causes an unexpected event, resulting in Serena and Henry being body-switched, ala Freaky Friday. Not only do they have to continuously cope with the oddities associated with being thrown into the opposite sex’s body, but both are inundated with feelings and memories they didn’t know the other had. On top of this, the clock is ticking down to figure out how to switch back, lest they potentially lose their lives.

This book was incredibly sweet. I love a touch of magical realism with my romance stories, and this was just that. I wish I was more familiar with the ‘physics’ of it all, because I think a real science lover would find this immensely charming! The shenanigans that ensued to the body-switch had be nervous laughing at times, which only added to the charm of the book. I didn’t always understand why Serena was so down on love, but I like that we got our HEA.

I recommend this book for lovers of HEA, science and a good ol’ body-switcheroo!

Tropes in this story:
✨Golden Retriever, Virgin MMC
✨Opposites attract
✨Second chance love
✨He falls first, after only one night
✨HEA

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this audiobook via NetGalley, but my review is all my own.

I found Switched on NetGalley when the audiobook was set to be available now; no request was necessary. The blurb was intriguing, and I'm a sucker for body-swaps. Sarah and Henry have great chemistry from the moment they meet. When the body swap occurs, they must work together to fool friends, family and colleagues. They navigate tricky situations, offering each other much support to succeed. As the book progresses, they build a deep emotional connection, and the physical attraction never disappears. Sarah and Henry try to find ways to return to the correct bodies. Still, they are also resigned to the possibility that it will never happen and they'll be connected forever.

I loved this book. The writing was very engaging. The narration was fantastic, and it was a hilarious read. As someone who enjoys data and graphs, I could identify with Sarah immediately. Her meet-cute with Henry is over the top, and the outcome the next day shares many parallels with Merideth and Derrick's in Grey's Anatomy. It's one of my favourite SURPRISE tropes.

Sarah's hesitations might seem dramatic to some. Still, it emphasizes how much the relationships we see as children impact our adult expectations and desires. Henry doesn't get it because his family is warm and welcoming. Sarah doesn't believe things can be different and shies away from commitment. Watching her interact with Henry and his family is so healing.

Body swap content often goes for the initial gag jokes, such as "OMG, the parts downstairs are different, ah!" and never mentions it again. Switched did an excellent job of handling it respectfully and accurately. Henry and Sarah's negotiations regarding their bodies are funny and so awkward. Sarah's reactions to NRBs had me cackling, and Henry's experience with menstruation will make him much more empathetic in the future. I liked that Henry experienced Sarah's body's lactose intolerance and Sarah had cravings for tea. The idea that somethings go with the body rather than the brain was interesting and fun.

Switched is a great, light and comedic romance. Throughout the book, I thoroughly enjoyed the suspense surrounding the return to their original bodies. I didn't realize this was book 2 in a series. I'm going to go back and read book 1.

This was my first book by Sarah Ready and I really enjoyed it. This like Freaky Friday. Serena and Henry meet in a bar one night when she quite literally gets stuck to her seat. They hit it off and have a one night stand. Serena doesn't believe in love and Henry wants love and family. They both feel something that night, but Serena is terrified of it and then she finds out Henry is her new boss and she ends things before they can begin, not really in the most mature way. That leads to months of workplace enemies. Until one night at work, something happens and they switch bodies.

This is my first paranormal romance, and I enjoyed it. I loved that it was kind of Freaky Friday like. There were some really funny moments too, like Serena (in Henry's body) getting aroused and Henry (In Serena's body) having menstrual cramps. If only all men could experience that, I actually laughed out loud during that scene. There was also an aggressive ex-girlfriend of Henry's that made for some funny moments.

I also really enjoyed the sweet moments, how each character had to interact with the other's family in difficult circumstances (a wedding and medical scare). The way that both Henry and Serena got to know the other person through the interactions with their families. I really liked that, the understanding they each got through being the other person.

I loved how their deep understanding of the other person, lead to a deep love between them.

I listened to the audio of this book and throughly enjoyed the narrator. She did an excellent job of being a British man trapped in the body of an American woman.

I do wish that this was a dual POV. We do get one chapter from Henry's POV, but I really wished there had been more. Other than that I loved this book and can't wait to read more from this author.

Fans of Ali Hazelwood, Denise Williams, and Helen Hoang will love this STEM feisty female who refuses to lose herself in a man, even when that man is Henry. Who didn’t expect to be walking in her shoes in such a literal way. This book is at times achingly thoughtful and other times laugh out loud funny.
He falls first and falls hard.
Soulmates.

I liked the book really much and I am for sure going recommend it to my friends.
I was laughing out loud multiple times, Henry and Serena are just a really funny couple.

I read this before the first book in the series, so now I am siting back with a weird feeling. I am both super happy that I still have the first book (and hopefully also the third book soon) to read but I am also super sad that I won’t read about henry (at least I suppose sins she first meets him in the book)

The whole idea of the book is so interesting, and I really hope that I can find more books where somebody switches bodies.
I also really liked that they could get to know each other so well, and that she couldn’t hide why she acted the way she did, as so many other main characters tent to do.

As I have said way to many times now I really liked the book.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I thought this was a smart and fun take on the "Freaky Friday" trope. I loved the breaking of the 4th wall, too. I also thought the author gave us several funny moments while touching on more complex topics.

When Serena & Henry meet, it's instant love. However, Serena has insecurities about love and relationships and runs away from him. The only love she's comfortable with is her love for Science. She can't run for long though, because Henry's her new boss! 1.5 years later, An electrical storm causes chaos & they wake up in the wrong body.

The rest of this book brings us along as they try to solve this problem while navigating some major family events!

Will they figure out how to switch back? Because they are running out of time!

Narration: I enjoyed the narrator, but I wish the entire book was done in either duel or duet. That's a personal preference of mine, but we only get a quick taste of it near the very end, and I think it would have made the narration more immersive. I also expected duet since there were 2 narrators listed.

First thank you Netgalley for letting me get this little audio early! I fell in love with it and the narrators!

I did not read/listen to the first book in the Ghosted series, and I did not feel lost. I would say this can 100% be read as a standalone. It is fun and has lovely banter. I was constantly rooting for them to finally accept all of their true feelings and just *be*.

This was a unique romance...I have not read a Freaky Friday twist on a romance. I will say my only complaint (besides the FMC making this such a sloooooow burn) was that they referenced the movie Freaky Friday multiple times and didn't seem to grasp what the meaning of the movie was?! Come on science guys....it was not just a "24 hour thing". -sigh- but other than that the writing was great, the plot was fun, and the end made my heart so happy!

Read if you like:
- MCs who work in STEM
- Contemporary romance
- Insta-love
- Magical Realism (body swap)

Format: Audiobook

This book was really fun and I loved the body swap concept! It started off a bit slow, but once we got to the part of the swap, it was really enjoyable with a lot of laugh-out-loud moments. In the beginning, there was a lot of insta-love taking place and I wasn’t really a fan of how it was portrayed. I also think I might’ve enjoyed this more if I had read the book instead of listened to the audiobook. Unfortunately, I found that the narrator’s fake british accent was really distracting and I had a hard time focusing on the story because of it. Overall, it’s a cute story but I’d recommend maybe reading instead of listening.

Just a note: I didn’t realize that this is technically the second book of a series but it reads fine as a standalone. I might go back and read the first of the series now!

Thank you NetGalley and W.W. Crown for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I didn't realize this book was another Sarah Ready book when I picked it up. While I didn't like this one as much as I liked the other novel set in this world, I did enjoy it. I would have rather have done without the insta-love and sex on first sight (especially since the main character is a virgin - just didn't seem realistic in an already ultra-unrealistic story).

If you like Ali Hazelwood, especially Love on the Brain, I think you'll love this book.

Sarah Ready did it again. This book is fun, romantic, has a little bit of everything. Sorry no spoiler. You need to meet Serena and Henry !!

I have to admit when I first started this book, I almost put it down and decided it wasn't my style. I am so glad I continued. It is a fun rom com that is somewhat of a take on Freaky Friday but instead of with the kids it is Serena and Henry that swap. Serena is a free spirited scientist who is obsessed with Star Trek and is happy not being attached to anyone. Henry, is an uptight Brit who has had a thing for Serena for a while.

The characters are fun and I enjoyed how they had to learn to live each others lives, learn their jobs and be around each other's families and try to act like nothing is wrong. I loved the banter and humor. It does have a few spicy scenes and there is some sexual innuendos throughout the book.

Thanks to #NetGalley for the ARC.

I really enjoyed this book. This plot is cute and funny. When two people aren’t good at communicating their true feelings the universe steps in and messes with their life. Serena is terrified of falling in love and Henry is ready to risk his heart for Serena.
This story includes the world of theoretical physics and theories that go over my head. Serena and Henry are super smart but their mathematical models and knowledge of atoms and molecules won’t get them back into their own bodies. They have to figure out how to get their bodies back while pretending to be each other. The author is a bit verbose but other than that I liked her quirky cute writing style.

The narrator Kelsey Navarro did a great job. Kelsey narrated the majority of the book and did a great job with accents. James Foster narrated the last chapter and did well. This is a light and funny romantic comedy that I could totally listen to again.

Thank you to the author Sarah Ready, the publisher, and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book

I really liked the narrator of this audiobook, however, I wasn't overly fond of the plot or characters. I'm not fond of the insta love trope and this was complete and utter insta love... it was also just a bit too out there and far fetched for me. It was at least well written and fast paced, it just wasn't a book I overly enjoyed.
Thanks to Netgalley for the arc copy of Switched by Sarah Ready.

I am loving this quirky series by Sarah Ready!

Switched was such a fun book to read. It did have some serious moments, but overall it was a fun, quirky and heartfelt love story about how opposites attract. The characters were all likable and the story was a good spin on the switching bodies trope. Every single book I’ve read by Sarah leaves me with a smile on my face. I can always rely on a well written book with a twist of fun and seriousness as well.

Highly recommend this book and the other book in this series as well! And the audio narrators did a wonderful job!

***thank you Netgalley and W.W. Crown for an ARC copy in return for an honest review***

This book is the second in a series, but it is a standalone! However, I adored the first book in the series so I absolutely recommend that you read it.

Sarah Ready has quickly become one of my auto-buy authors. Although this book was provided to me by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review, I want everyone to know about this author on my own free-will. This book was a breath of fresh air from the typical books I've read in the romance category. There's themes common in this book that there were in the first book, and I love the way she forces proximity. I found myself flipping through these chapters the way I would with a thriller. Even though we hope/know the ending will be happy (as is with romance), you can never anticipate how with the books in this series.

You can't help but love the characters and their backstories. The conflict was fun and unique, it was giving Freaky Friday but romance edition! So, well written which is impressive given how carefully you have to write these characters when they switch bodies. I didn't find myself getting confused about who was talking when despite the body switch. Love this series, loved this book for being fun and quirky, but also vulnerable.
