I got this audiobook through NetGalley. I will say, I did not know what to expect when I began listening to this book. However, I loved it. I really enjoyed the storyline and I liked how it incorporated science and physics but it was not confusing to follow. This book is about Serena and Henry who meet and have a great night together, only for Serena to not want to see Henry again and Henry feeling like it was love at first sight. Well, he is her new colleague. Almost two years later, they switch bodies (Freaky Friday style) and have to navigate their lives together, as each other. They get to meet their families and ultimately have to come to terms with their feelings for one another.

My favorite parts of this audiobook had to do with their witty banter and conversations. Serena and Henry and the complete opposites of each other and somehow they just work together. There were also some surprise twists at the end that I didn't see coming, which is also why I really enjoyed this story.

The narration was great and I loved that we got at least one chapter as Henry's point of view. I felt like the narrators made the story come to life with the change from Serena and Henry. Serena is independent and kind of goofy, whereas, Henry is organized and proper. It was nice to hear that from each character.

Personally, I mainly listen to audiobooks in order to move freely and do things I need to get done. This book is probably one of the best books I've read recently that didn't make me cringe or make me feel like it was corny. I was hooked from beginning to end and finished it in two days. I would recommend.

Switched was part Freaky Friday, part Big Bang Theory and part love story all rolled into one fun hilarious touching story. I enjoyed the quirks and idiosyncrasies of both characters. This book was a refreshing read and great introduction to a new author for me. Thank you Net Galley and WWCroen and imprint of Swift & Lewis Publishing, IBPA for the advanced copy of the audiobook

As always, Sarah Ready can do no wrong! She writes such a good romance! I loved this story so much. It had just enough fantastical elements to be interesting, and I liked that they were wrapped up in science. This had great representation about women in STEM without feeling preachy. Henry was such a dreamy MMC and I liked that the slow burn didn't feel boring or tedious! There wasn't too much spice, and what was there could easily be skipped if you prefer a closed door romance!

The audiobook was really well done and engaging, too! I do wish the Male narrator had been included throughout! The one chapter he did was wonderful, though the female narrator did a fantastic job too.

Thanks to Netgalley, and Sarah Ready for the advanced copy to listen to.

Serena Otaki, a carefree Californian, finds joy in smashing atoms at The Large Hadron Collider in Geneva, Switzerland. Her love extends to Star Trek, spicy tofu, and her feline companion, Captain Purrk. Embracing a cluttered apartment and an unattached lifestyle, Serena's simplicity defines her.

Despite my efforts, I struggled with the writing style due to constant fourth wall breaking and confusing footnotes. The dialogue and word choices felt cringey at times. Overall, it's a swift rom-com with a magical twist, recommended for fans of the 'body swap' trope, the central theme of the story.

I appreciate Netgalley and W. W. Crown, an imprint of Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC, for providing me with a copy of Switched by Sarah Ready.

Thank you NetGalley and W.W. Crown, an imprint of Swift & Lewis Publishing, for this advance listening copy. I found that listening at 1.5x-1.75x speed was optimal as the speech was far too slow at 1x. The narrators were great though! She did a great job of switching between voices and accents.

Serena is an American physicist who lives in Geneva, Switzerland. She is a total nerd and is so passionate about her career that she isn’t willing to let love get in the way. During a night out at dinner, she ends up having a one night stand with a Brit named Henry. Much to her surprise, he is her new boss, so she must make it clear that she isn’t interested in a relationship besides professional. One day, while they are at work, a big electric storm causes them to switch bodies…This book is the second in the Ghosted series, but can easily be read on its own.

I loved this take on Freaky Friday with some Big Bang Theory elements thrown in! At times it was hilarious, and at other times, it was emotional. This was a fun take on a romance in finding yourself and what’s truly important in life.

A modern day Freaky Friday, body swap trope. If you are a fan of this type of book, you will love Switched! The footnotes and overall writing style/dialogue of this book was hard for me to enjoy. Perhaps this is a result of my own personal preference, and not the author.

Sarah Ready has become one of my auto-read authors and I like how she’s recently been combining the paranormal with her romances. This is the second book in a series of standalones, but we do get cameos from Jillian and Daniel which was a lovely blast from the past. I found Serena’s character quite interesting, with her views on love and relationships and how this has been moulded by her own parents. She’s passionate about her career as a physicist working at CERN and not at all interested in giving it up for love nor money. When her fate is entwined with Henry’s, and they’re struck by love at first sight, Serena is absolutely not going to get trapped in a relationship and lose herself. These two characters have a long journey ahead of them, which involves a Freaky Friday style body switch, which brings the pair closer together and provides an opportunity for them to understand each other. Their reactions to the gender swap were amusing at times, and while the book has humorous moments, it also has the more serious ones with some hurt and heartbreak thrown in. I didn’t feel, despite seeing so much of these two characters throughout, that I really understood very much about them by the end, and nor was I really convinced of their chemistry. Their affection was convincing but the sparks weren’t flying for me. I found the female narrator's voice familiar from Ghosted, which was a little jarring, and despite there being two narrator’s, the majority of the book is only read by the female narrator and I found it very difficult distinguishing between Serena and Henry’s voices, so it wasn’t the easiest of reads.

I received a free copy of this book. All views are my own.

I don’t know what I expected but there were elements of this that made me actually think. Aside from the obvious issues about swapping bodies, it was interesting to see how the writer imagined memories work in connection with the body (don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t a deep philosophical exploration but had clearly been carefully though out which I liked). There were also laugh out loud moments,

Oh no! I love the first book in this series and was delighted to see there's a sequel, and with GR friends' glowing reviews, I couldn't wait to jump in. Turns out I'm on outlier island alone. 😎🏝️

The Switched premise sounds very entertaining where two MCs Sarah and Henry switch bodies but it took a while to get there. There's a bit of scifi and magical realism but sadly I couldn't connect with this couple as I did with Jillian and Daniel in the first novel Ghosted. I probably would've dnf if it wasn't a review copy.

I thought the narrators were okay, are they spouses by any chance? I'm on the fence about the third book and will see what the premise will be. I've enjoyed every Sarah Ready's novel until this one.

Thank you W. W. Crown, and imprint of Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC and Netgalley for the ALC.

This was a really cute story! The beginning was honestly a little shaky. It felt like it was kind of insta-lovey, which is not a trope I’m usually a fan of, and like it was leaning too far into the science/academic stuff. But I decided to stick to it and I’m really glad I did. Once the “switch” happened, the story really took off. It was a great take on that Freaky Friday scenario and even though it was a little silly, I was really into it. I loved the humor and fun references too. I’ll definitely be looking out for more from this author in the future.

Thank you @netgalley for this Audio ARC

Serena Otaki is an American Physicist who lives in Geneva Switzerland. She is an a big nerd who loves Star Trek. She works on the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. Sara is all about work and not much else. Sarah is having dinner one night at the local bar/restaurant and she ends up having a one night stand with a British fellow.
The chemistry between the two of them was amazing. All is well until she goes to work and finds out that her new boss Henry Joule is that one night stand guy.
She soon finds out that Henry Joule is a grumpy, uptight neat freak. They keep the relationship to business only. They are pretty much work enemies. One day while the two of them are at work a major electric storm occurs which affects them and causes the two of them to switch bodies. As they come to the realization of the predicament they are in they realized they need to stay close and as they need to figure out how to get out of this mess. As time goes by and they are getting to know each other and they are even having memories from each other. They also are coming to realize that this may end up being permanent. “Serena” ends up finding a pyschic to consult with. This psychic ends up giving them some good advice.

The first part of the book was a bit boring but it gets so interesting, fun and hilariout as Serena and Henry have to learn to navigate their new lives and find a way back to their own bodies. The end was a bit predictable but just perfect for this book.

This was an interesting way to explore a relationship. I was hesitant to read this at first because I am usually not a fan of sci-fi or fantasy, but I really enjoyed Henry and Serena (Ducky) and their love story. The way they met was unique and he came to her rescue. Little did they know, he was her new boss. The one night they spent together was magical and he fell fast and hard. She did too, but she was scared and determined to end it before it could change her.

I’ve read plenty of books where the man ran away from his feelings, but this might have been the first where the woman ran. I understood where she was coming from, where her career was concerned, but I felt bad for Henry when she ended it so harshly (even though she tried to stop the ruse). I figured out why they switched and what she had to do in order to switch back, but I was surprised by a few things about him that came to light.

While switched, they both learn about the other, not just trivial stuff, but important things as well. I loved the fact that they both experienced highly important events in each other’s lives. When Serena was Henry she had to be the best man at his brother’s wedding. He had to be by her mom’s bedside when she was in the hospital. Each life event revealed things about and to them, only they had to tell each other what actually happened during private moments.

When they finally switched back, it was all interesting to see how it would affect them. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for more from Ms. Ready. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

The narrators did a great job bringing the story to life. I found it difficult to tell if James was narrating throughout or if it was just at the one point in the book. I would definitely listen to another narrated by these performers.

I adore Sarah's writing and I loved this second book in the Ghosted series. Henry and Serena are so much fun and I loved this romantic take of a freaky friday switch. I also enjoyed the physics in the story and the intelligently witty banter. Having to switch accents was perfect for the audiobook and Kelsey Navarro Foster and James Anderson Foster did a fantastic job with the narration. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

"Switched" is a story about Serena Otaki and Henry Joule, how fate and science brought them close, closer than most people would like. Serena is a scientist who believed that her only love in life is her job, but when she met Henry, her feelings started to change. During a late night at the particle collider, they switched bodies, which led them on a journey of family, friends, and happy and sad moments to learn the true meaning of love and what it means to them.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Serena was a fun character, although a bit infuriating in the way she tried to let Henry down in the beginning. During the few days they spent together, it became clear why they had such different views on love. The story also scientifically explains the body switch, which I found very interesting. It's clear that the author did a great deal of research. The scientific explanations also added funny moments between Serena and Henry, such as their different tastes and how they were compelled to continue with the other's routines.

Kelsey Navarro Foster did a great job with the narration, managing to portray two characters in switched bodies with minimum confusion.

Thanks to NetGalley and W. Crown, and imprint of Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC, and the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) Members' Audiobooks for providing me with an early, free copy of this book.

Thanks for the NetGalley ARC of the audiobook

Let’s just say that this a freaky Friday I’d like to see made into a movie. I was not prepared for some aspects of the book, as had several meeting and had to stop the book because of me laughing and not being able to multitask while listening it is that good. I was able to finish the book in about two days due to having to pause for meetings at work.

A great take on love always finding a way and I’m glad these two were able to find it.

This is one book I don’t mind having in different/many forms.

Then finds out Henry is her new boss. During an electric storm something happens and Serena and Henry switch bodies Freaky Friday style.

I really liked this book. It was so fun to listen to the narrators. They did a fantastic job narrating this hilarious Stem romance. The writing style hooked me right away.

This is such a fun series - another hit for me from Sarah Ready!
I love the mix of romance + nerdy/science elements we’ve gotten in this one & Ghosted.

💭 thoughts:
While magnetically drawn together in a love-at-first-sight moment, Serena & Henry are complete opposites, and body swapping had them able to see a different perspective.

I loved the why behind this one - it wasn’t just a random idea, but for the main characters to truly get to know one another, and understand each other fully.

This one is a bit lighter than the last few (no tears for me!). It’s also HILARIOUS - I hope this isn’t a spoiler, but Henry getting “his period” had me laughing out loud so hard.

🎧 audio thoughts:
This was so incredibly impressive, I’m not sure how Kelsey Navarro Foster was able to manage this one! She had to do both American & British accents in both male and female voices, and somehow keep track of who was speaking and in which body 🔥🤯

While the audio was fantastic, you’re missing out without an ebook/physical copy - there are a bunch of fun/hilarious doodles that are described, but more awesome to see!

📚 Series note - this is book 2 in the series, but can definitely be read as a standalone. The couple from the first book appears in this one, so it would spoil it a bit.
