I love anything Sarah Ready!!! This was no exception. Super super cute!! You do not need to read ghosted before this one, it is great alone.

This book was so delightful, charming, and funny, and I devoured the whole thing in a day! It was a Freaky Friday plot but make it science-y. I loved that Serena and Henry were forced through one of the most eventful weeks in their lives where they had to learn to lean on each other while simultaneously being each other. The banter was perfect and I was smiling so hard at the end!

The narrator for the audiobook was amazing - she switched between American and British accents for both main characters absolutely flawlessly.

This was a cute rom-com. I didn’t realize it was the second in a series, but it can definitely be read as a standalone.

I thought the Freaky Friday body-swapping plot was entertaining, and I haven’t read many books with that trope. It did feel a little too convenient sometimes, as far as experiencing certain of each other’s memories and habits (but not accents, for some reason?).

Unfortunately, I struggled with the main character. She was so chaotic and ✨quirky✨ I enjoyed it much more during the body swap, but she wasn’t a character I could really connect with. And the fourth wall breaks killed me, not in a good way.

This book did have funny footnotes, which I always enjoy! I thought the parts involving their families were sweet.

This one was just okay for me, and took me a while to get into.

This book was a slow starter for me, but once we got into it, I loved it. Sarah Ready is absolutely an auto-buy author for me, and this book was no exception.

To be honest, this is a second in a series, but fret not, it is not required to read the first, this read easily as a stand-alone. It read like a more fun freaky Friday with small moments of The Big Bang Theory. It had typical California girl, Serena and her awkward former one night stand (and current colleague) Henry switching bodies. It has moments that are awkward, like Serena being the best man at Henry’s brothers wedding, or secrets they didn’t share to make things happen. The he falls first, magical realism, nerdy mash up, with little communications created a unique and fun reading experience. As I said it was a slow start but absolutely worth it in the end.

I haven't read Sarah Ready before, so this was a really lovely surprise. I loved this book. I really liked both main characters (it's been awhile!) and I loved that they were both science academics. Sarah Ready's writing is smooth and easy to follow. It's kind of like eating chocolate mousse (maybe revealing a bit too much about myself now). It was extremely consumable and went down a treat.
The story caught me up from the very beginning and carried me along with no difficulty. I just wanted to keep reading and I couldn't get enough. I immediately checked and saw that Sarah Ready has written a number of other books, and I was do happy to see that! I
I thoroughly enjoyed the relationship between Serena and Henry. I wasn't sure at first about the idea of them switching bodies, but boy did the author write this well. It didn't annoy me at all (these types of plots often do) and in fact, I really liked how it all was spun out for the reader.
The only reason I marked this one down a star is because I do enjoy a bit more spice in my romance novels. Their romance was written so well, and they had such amazing chemistry, I just wanted more. This is both a good and a bad thing probably! As I said above though, I am so happy to have discovered Sarah Ready and have already begun recommending her to people I know will like her books. I am very much looking forward to reading the rest of her books. I'm so glad to have found another must read author!

Serena Otaki lives a simple life. She's a scientist smashing atoms together in Geneva who loves Star Trek, coffee, and being single. Physics is her one true love and she wants it to stay that way. Henry Joule is a scientist who makes analog black holes and is otherwise her opposite in every way--neat(freak), British, tea lover who wants true love, marriage, and a family. But on one perfect night Serena and Henry meet and what ensues can only be called instalove......until Serena panicks that love may change her and put her career at risk, especially since Henry is supposed to be her new boss. So she runs from their connection. A year later an electrical storm causes an unexpected physical event at the particle collider and suddenly—they’ve switched. Freaky Friday style. Now both life and love have become very complicated.

I like the timeline of this story. I enjoyed the pacing, instalove to borderline animosity to friends to maybe more. The writing is vivid, funny, clever, and easy. I don't love commitmentphobes traditionally, but Ready takes the time to really show us the family life of each of our leads so we can better understand their viewpoints, fears, and desires. This is raunchy in its jokes. I imagine randomly and unexpectedly switching into the body of someone of the opposite sex would come with some sexual jokes as well as confusion. But I think it's all handled tastefully. The love between our leads just feels palpable. The yearning is undeniable. I read this in one sitting it was so easy and fun.

Switched is the second book in the Ghosted series, though I think it can easily be read as a standalone. Personally, I liked Ghosted better, but Switched was still an enjoyable read. I had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook version, which I thought was well-done, especially with portraying the various accents of different characters.

I liked the portrayal of Serena being a woman working in science, though sometimes I felt like the science references were a little bit lost on me. That said, you could feel her passion for the field. The body switch give the book a little bit of a paranormal feel, but this was something I expected. There were definitely some laugh-out-loud moments along the way, but also a lot of soul searching as Serena and Henry learn about each other during their predicament. There was a lot of character growth, especially for Serena, as she came to better understand herself, Henry, and the reasons she didn't want to have a relationship. Switched kept me wanting to read more, and I was able to finish the whole book within a 24-hour timespan.

For this being my second Sarah Ready book I didn't think it was as good as the first. To be honest, this book did feel a little predictable throughout and it did feel a lot like the movie Freaky Friday. I normally understand walking a mile in someone else's shoes, but I wasn't the biggest fan of how Sarah did it in this book. I did like how the characters got to know each other through their feeling and their own eyes (to a point). I loved seeing some of the characters from her previous book Ghosted and having them be side characters. Overall, I still enjoyed this book, but I will probably be a little hesitant to pick up another book of hers.

Of course, Sarah Ready kills it yet again with a truly hilarious and heartwarming rom-com. I am typically not a fan of insta-love tropes, but this one was SO GOOD!! While I wouldn’t describe Ready’s books as unpredictable, this one took some unexpected turns that made this story special.

As the story opens, Serena and Henry feel a magnetic pull toward each other. As someone who regularly feels magnetism toward people, I loved the way she described their instant connection. Also, I can’t describe how much I love seeing a nerdy, sexy, smart Asian American woman as the MFC!

At heart, this is a story about choosing love over fear and not letting other people define what love should look like for you. It was so heartfelt—the way our main characters had to learn to see the world through each other’s eyes. I was so pleasantly surprised at how often I laughed out loud and how many times my heart squeezed with emotion. It’s just such a good one.

Bonus points for Star Trek references. Sarah Ready, you’re a real one.

To begin, we are brought in with our main character, who is a theoretical particle physicist that works at CERN and loves Star Trek. As a STEM girlie, it took some effort to not nitpick when it came to some of the description of particle physics, CERN, etc. but its stuff that can be pretty easily overlooked.

Our main character is Serena, or Ducky, and she is decently likable as a character, even though she has some beliefs about commitment that pushes back the pioneering of women in stem back a generation or two. She’s a California girl that has been working in Switzerland, has a double PhD, and a best friend that also lives in Geneva (who has a separate book written about her, that I have not read, and is not essential for reading this book).

Our male lead is Henry, and he is our “hot English guy”, meaning : as soon as they meet they are obsessed with one another. Their first meeting is a whirlwind that ends up with the two hooking up, only for Serena commitment issues to come to a head as Henry says he believes in love at first sight. After that, Serena finds out that Henry is going to become her boss, starting on Monday, much to her chagrin. She ends it with him very messily, but doesn’t mean to cut him as deep as she does and he takes it to heart.

Years pass, and just before the two go of for vacations, a incident occurs, and now they have had their minds transferred to each others body.

In essence, this is a very silly and fun book. The only big thing that annoyed me when reading was that they didn’t keep their accents, and the accents transferred to the other person as well. I feel like a speech therapist would also be annoyed about that.

I appreciated the heartfelt sentiment that came when visiting the others families, and the real balancing act that had to be done around different family members, or conquests. I think the most unexpected part of this book was the twist at the end, which was very, very impactful in the audiobook, as they switched to a different reader, which was really a great touch.

From the first Sarah Ready book I listened to I have been a fan. I’ve gone back and am making my way through all her work before I discovered my love of her books and I always look forward to each new offering she makes to my TBR. When I saw Switched coming I knew I needed it—as I have come to expect with all books Sarah Ready writes Switched was not a let down. There was a slightly slower start for me to get into it but once it hit about 20-25% and all the hilarity began I was in it y til the finish!

Even though I typically listen to Ready’s books, they all still make their way to my physical trophy shelf because they are always worthy or a reread.

I enjoyed the first book in this series Ghosted and was excited to receive an early copy of this one. I loved the main characters and their adorable dynamic. Their geeky love of science made me feel connected to them as a woman in science myself. I love anything with a freaky friday premise and was excited to see what this book would hold. It did not let me down with the growth coming from the characters being in each others situations. Not only do they get a glimpse into each others lives but they have feelings, wants and memories from the other's body as well. I thought that was a very unique way of spinning this trope that I enjoyed.
However, I did have a couple things that I did not enjoy. In the first few chapters there are so many lists. Having one list might not have been as bad but having multiple long lists in such a short time at the beginning of the book made me what to put it down. The rest of the book was so good and I wouldn't want anyone to DNF this book due to the repetitiveness of the beginning and other small parts of this book.
Overall, it was a really sweet romance that I would recommend to any romantic science lovers!

This was such a fun, and quirky rollercoaster.

We follow our FMC Serena who is a strongly independent, intelligent, messy, fun-loving gal from California. She has a very fierce sense of self and takes great pride in her career, physics, and maintaining her life as a single woman who refuses to lose herself in love. On one fateful night she meets a British man who is her polar opposite and feels a connection with him that she has not yet experienced prior. After a night of “fun” she comes to find that this man will become her new boss and she wants NOTHING to do with him. Until she quite literally BECOMES him (yes you read that right.) How will these two get out of this predicament and return to their own bodies?

Okay, to be totally honest…the first few chapters I found Serena quite insufferable, stubborn, selfish, and dishonest. However, she really did grow on me and as I learnt more about her and what attributes to her need to run away from any kind of remotely real feelings I felt as though I could relate to her.

Henry was just ADORABLE. I love this man. He was so sweet, supportive, funny, and smart.

Reading about the two visiting one another’s families melted my heart and I found the differences in backgrounds and upbringings quite amusing.

Some of the body swap descriptions were a little cringe worthy but realistic, nonetheless.

The author does such a great job with this series. I loved the first one but I think I liked this one more. It was a freaky Friday romance version. Plenty of humor, tugging on the heart strings, and cute romance of course. This was one that I just couldn’t turn off (audiobook) and I’d highly recommend it.

Their way back to their normal bodies nearly kills them both but in the end their newfound love for each other saves them.

Always enjoy reading Sarah Ready's books. She has an awesome imagination and creates unique and compelling stories. This book has a cool freaky friday premise. I liked the idea of Serena and Henry switching bodies. It was fun to read how they coped with the situation. The story is told mostly from Serenas perspective, but it would have been nice to hear Henry's side of the story too. They are both so sweet, especially Henry. The couple had sizzling chemistry right from the beginning. I'm not fond of insta-love, though. Slow burn is so much more satisfying. Anyway, this was such a fun and sweet story and the ending was perfect.

First off, the Narrators for this audiobook did a FANTASTIC job! This had a slow start for me, as it is based on the science trope, and I don't think that is really my thing. But this was a charming, quirky rom-com with Freaky Friday vibes. I enjoyed the audio version as it was easy to listen to!

Serena is a fun-loving, free-spirited girl from California with a deep love of science. She has her dream job working at the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva. She fell in love with science at a very young age and knows that she will never fall in love with a man because she can only have one love. Henry is an uptight Brit who lives a very simple and VERY organized life. The two met and had a one-night stand it could have been more but Serana discovered that Henry was her new boss and ended things quickly. Over a year later the two experienced an accident at work where their lives collided and then switched. They swapped bodies and now need to figure out how to switch back.

This book is the love child between Freaky Friday and a rom-com. It was fun, fast-paced, and lighthearted. I really liked that both characters got to experience the not-so-great aspects of the other gender. Henry having to experience a period inside Serena’s body was great. I loved how these two grew as people and grew together.

I listened to the wildly hysterical video version of this book. The narration by Kelsey Navarro Foster and James Anderson Foster was excellent, and hearing the story read partly with a British accent added to my pleasure in the book.

Sarah Ready is quickly becoming one of my favorite romcom authors. This is the follow-up book to Ghosted, which was also excellent. In Switched, a male and a female scientist working with atoms In a highly advanced laboratory end up accidentally switching bodies. The result is laugh out loud funny as the two try to carry on in the other's body until they can reverse the situation.

My absolute favorite scene was when Henry woke up to experience the first day of Serena's period. It was so perfect that I actually howled! Add in some lust in a different body, two people who are actually cuddling with their own body, and trying to fool family members, and you end up on a wild ride!

Sarah Ready can do no wrong. I love her writing style so much even though her stories are all about love at first sight and soulmates, and love heals everything and is the answer to all the mysteries. I just love her.

Serena wasn’t what I expected but I love that her reasons and reactions are clearly explained and understandable. Henry won me over at first sight and then made me hot and bothered for the rest of the book. The all « they switched bodies » plot was kind of predictable but excellent nonetheless, with scenes that made me blush and others that made me swoon or cackle.

Loved, loved, LOVED the Jillian and Daniel cameo, as well as the ending.
