Ideal for fans of YA thrillers that deal with important and topical issues narrated in a snappy, colloquial way.
With thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an early copy in exchange for an independent review.

This is the kind of YA novel you have heard pitched many times before, but the writer does a pretty good job with it.

Jo was one of the popular kids until an unpleasant revelation made all her former friends drop her like a hot potato. But when her one time bestie Maddy disappears, Jo is convinced that there has been foul play involved.

But finding out more requires a redemption story, because she must ingratiate herself with the group that rejected her. The only way in is by fake-dating her ex, Hudson, who has his own reasons for cooperating. But is it worth the price that Jo will have to pay...?

The story is well delivered and engaging, and it moves fast once it gets going. If you like this genre, it's worth a read. It gets 3.5 stars from me.

I was intrigued to see how this book would go as I’ve read many which have a similar ‘vibe’ it did have a bit of a slow start but when it got going it was beyond a page turner, I could read it fast enough. I loved everything about it, the characters who all were relatable, the every changing plot with so many twists and turns and the ending was nothing I was expecting. So well written! Amazing book!
