An enjoyable read that pulled me into a guessing game right from the start. The twists and turns will keep you turning the pages as always with Trope's books. Though not my favourite by this author, with a theme based on secrets, lies, deceit and revenge, short chapters and mutiple character POV's it was still a quick and easy read and will appeal to the lover of a good domestic suspense!

Another fabulous book by the amazing Nicole Trope. She has such a way of pulling you in and keeping you hooked right until the very end.

A complicated tale dealing with forgiveness and revenge. Unfortunately I couldn’t decide at the end if the author was leading us to agree or disagree with either concept.
However I did enjoy reading the book with its interesting characters and great twist.

Leo and Diane Palmer are the parents of twin boys, Rowan and Sawyer. Leo is in real estate and Diane is a nurse/midwife.

Leo is attending a real estate conference and is approached by a beautiful woman who invites him to her room. He’s excited as he enjoys hooking up with someone when he’s at conferences. She calls herself Serena Burns but that’s not her real name. Leo is hooked and wants to meet with her again.

Diane knows that he has probably cheated on her when he returns home with flowers for her and chocolate bars for the boys.

Leo thinks he is a star real estate salesman with his fancy car and braggart ways. As we learn more about him, we find that he is a huge liar, as well. His character has been carefully crafted by the author which I found to be amazing. The story opens up to show a huge secret that he has been keeping for a long time but is ready to blow up in his face. What a story. At first, I couldn’t imagine where it was going, but as it played out, it intrigued me more and more, plus the ending was spectacular. Super good book. Enjoy!

As Always Nicole knocked it out of the park with another twisted and clever read. This was a sizzling paced book that kept me guessing and reading as fast as I could. I have yet to find one of her books that is a miss for me. Bravo on His Double Life.

His Double Life by Nicole Trope is a clever domestic suspense novel which is told from many different points of view.

With great characterization, it is a well written tale of family, secrets, lies, infidelity and revenge.

I recommend it to readers who enjoy main characters they love to hate.

The first part of His Double Life kept me glued to my Kindle screen because it felt like the plot was going to be twisty, moreover Leo is just a despicable character and you want to read more to know if he's going to be punished. Unfortunately towards 50%, I felt the plot slowing down and despite the plot twists, I found the ending a bit dull. Altogether I felt like it was not a real thriller but rather simply literary fiction.

I just finished His Double Life by Nicole Trope for my @bookouture book tour and here are my thoughts.

Diana is ready to divorce Leo. She knows he’s cheating and he ignores her and their twin boys. The letters in his drawer are enough to upset her already delicate life and she knows now she really doesn’t know her husband at all.

When she agrees to help the truth come out.. a truth so horrific, it frightens Diana and shakes her to her very core. Now her husband's lies have put her family in danger and Diana doesn’t know what to do next.

I love psychological thrillers and I read enough of them that I am rarely surprised. This book managed to pull some surprising twists that I didn’t see coming.
It was really well written and once I started, I couldn’t put it down. The book comes from Diana, Leo’s and the lady Leo is currently cheating with POV.
I found the whole book really entertaining and definitely worth the read.
4 stars

Wow what a fantastic donestic thriller. Told in 3 oarts with 3 main pov. I was gripped from page 1 wanting to know what could have happened yo have lead to a child being kidnapped. The characters were well developed and it was good to have a male pov. I loved tge way it was pulled together in part 2 just when i thought I'd worked it oug a curveball. The actual plot was almost like a hollywood film. The interactions were well written and gave substance to the character. It also dealt with ideals of mortality punishment and retribution in a skillfull manner.
Thank you so much netgallery and publisher and author for this page turner 5 stars a quick conoelling read.

This is the fifth book I've read by Trope now and it's definitely one of my favourites to date.

The book is split into three sections, with each being narrated by one of the main characters. With each section the pace steps up a notch, culminating in a huge plot twist that was pure genius!

His Double Life is a pacy thriller with karma, justice and retribution being the name of the game.

Trope has created a brilliant cast of solid characters, all of whom had a hidden motive up their sleeve.

I devoured the book in less than twenty four hours the plot was so compelling and addictive.

I really enjoyed the book and would definitely recommend both it, and Trope to all psychological thriller lovers.

A good domestic thriller.

I love this author's books and this one is no exception.

We know from the title that the male main character is leading a double life. But what exactly that would entail I did not know.. I was interested right from the start to find out what he was up to. It was not what expecting, at least not entirely.

I was hoping for a little more suspense feel to the story. Once I knew the secrets, it unfolded without much surprise for me. That was the only downside to this one.

I love the character development and the easy to read style of writing. The ending was a perfect solution. Gotta love some Karma.

Thanks to netgalley and Bookouture for the arc.

My Thoughts :
We meet Diane and Leo Palmer, a couple who have been married for 15 years. Everything seemed perfect, but not so perfect on Leo’s side, who seems to be more interested in everything and anything but his wife and their twin boys Rowan and Sawyer.
As we get to know Leo, we soon realize he is a liar and is hiding many secrets.
Soon a text and picture arrives from Serena Burns, the women that Leo has been sleeping with and it seems apparent that Leo’s family may just be in danger and his world is about to fall apart.
Karma is a real thing!.
This is a gripping story that will draw you in and keep you wanting to turn the page to see what happens, and wow what a read it was.
This story is woven together using the past and the present which really works.
Nicole Trope develops the characters well and has included lots of twists and turns throughout. Some dont see coming.
Hope to see more in the near future from the Author.

A father learns that actions have consequences the hard way, when his family is targetted to pay the price.

From the outside, Leo and Diana Palmer have the perfect family. But cracks in their marriage have been apparent to Diana for a while now. Then one of their twin sons is abducted and the kidnapper has only one demand - that Leo say the truth. Diana thought that the worst thing Leo ever did was his multiple infedilities, but when she gets to know the extent of his depravity, Diana wonders if she ever knew the man she married. Leo Palmer is not one to have regrets, but when his carefully constructed house of cards begins to crumble before him, Leo realizes that his day of reckoning has finally arrived.

The story starts off with a bang, presenting the abduction in the first chapter itself. Leo, a narcissist, is an absolute garbage character, that evokes contempt with every turn of the page. Diana wasn't all that impressive either - choosing to turn a blind eye to her husband's many faults, while living in her own bubble. Though Serena was introduced as a femme fatale, she seemed to be quite a conflicted character - doing things against her nature for a cause that she believed in.

The plot deals with the theme of regrets and second chances. The ending of the story, was quite different in its approach to meting out retribution; it wasn't even satisfactory IMO, but I guess, it works for the characters and the plot.

Overall, as a stand-alone this was a good one, however, in comparison with Trope's previous works, it doesn't rank among my favourites. Thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for providing a digital copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

The caption at the top of the book definitely pulled me in, and it did not disappoint. I did have my ideas as to what the book was most likely about, but boy was I surprised by the end! The writing style took me a moment to get used to, as it does flip to different characters and there are some time jumps, but once i got the pattern, it was easy to follow and focus on the story, which was plotted perfectly!

Loving father...loyal husband...liar...

The queen of domestic suspense is back with this tale packed full of secrets, lies and deception by the bucketload. I finished this book last night in one sitting, devouring it in a few short hours. I had to think about it before beginning this review. Because so much is packed into this quick read and yet nothing is left to chance.

Leo Palmer thinks he's God's gift to his profession, not to mention women, and it is at a conference in Queensland that he meets the stunning Serena. As soon as he sees her, he wants her. Forget the conference and his boring colleagues. He'd much rather be wrapped in the silky sheets with Serena. Once a year, he attends conferences around the country and each time partakes in a one night stand. But this year he breaks his own rule. He brings what is usually a fling home to his doorstep and continues to see Serena upon his return to Sydney. There's something about her. He just can't give her up.

Diana has been married to Leo for nearly 15 years and they have ten year old twin boys, Rowan and Sawyer. She is a mother and child nurse while he is a real estate agent. They have a beautiful house in the suburbs with a park just a block away so that the boys can race each other to the park and back to kick their soccer ball around.

It was one such Sunday morning when Rowan runs into the house after playing at the park announcing "I win!", expecting his brother to be close on his heels. But when he doesn't materialise, Diana feels a prick of fear. Just as she and Rowan are about to return to the park to find him, she receives a text message:

"If you want Sawyer to come home, your husband needs to tell the truth."

Diana is frozen staring at the screen. What does this mean? What has Leo done?

The questions are flying fast and free as the reader mulls over every possibility but are any of them close to the truth? The story unravels through the multiple narratives of Diana, Leo and Serena and is told in three parts. As each part unfolds it soon becomes clear what is going on. But still, Trope has another twist to deliver before the end. And even I didn't see it coming, so well played.

The characters are few but then that is all you need to make a compelling story. I did wonder at Diana's choices especially as she was well aware of Leo's indiscretions. He was obviously not going to change so why punish them all by sticking around? I understand it's for the boys but really resentments will colour any good intentions she may have had and the boys will be on the receiving end. And as for Leo. Well, he was the epitome of the narcissistic egotistical self indulgent man child who is so completely unlikeable I couldn't not care less what happened to him. I think when all is said and done he got off bloody lightly. He was an appalling character. But then I didn't really warm to Diana either. I think I found more sympathy for Serena.

The cover wasn't as eye-catching as previous titles but then I don't always judge a book by its cover either. However, if I was to do so I wouldn't have picked up this book solely on its cover. But the tightly written plot is well written and compelling from start to finish. It wasn't my favourite by Trope by any means, but it was still a cracker of a read with some good twists throughout.

I first discovered fellow Sydneysider Nicole Trope when I read "The Boy in the Photo" and I loved it! Since then I have read everything she has published with the exception of a couple that came before that one. I can't wait to see what she delivers for us next!

I would like to thank #NicoleTrope, #Netgalley and #Bookouture for an ARC of #HisDoubleLife in exchange for an honest review.

I really like the author and I've read many of her books but this one didn't hold my interest compared to her previous works. Nicole Trope has a way of making you care about her characters. The start was very strong, but I started to feel bored towards the end. And while I didn't expect the twists, I wasn't very satisfied by it

Nicole Trope yet has to disappoint me. I’ve read almost all of her backlist and it’s always exciting to see what she comes up with next. She writes absolutely fabulous page turners. She does not need fancy twists and turns, this lady can write without all the extra fluff. Brilliantly talented.
