All in all I liked this book but there were a couple of sections and that kind of threw me off. As all of Nicole Trope's books they are domestic thrillers and they keep you guessing until the end. This book didn't really have any likeable characters to root for, which makes it more enjoyable for me but I still liked this story and it was a quick read with short chapters!

They say dynamite comes in small packages. That definitely applies to this 262 page book with explosive twists and reveals that will leave your jaw open for a few hours after reading it. One of the main characters of this story is a man I like to call Leo the Liar. Leo is a scummy man who cares more about appearances than his own family. His moral compass points south, and marital fidelity is not even on his radar. His incredibly bad behavior is going to come back to haunt him.

Diana is his Leo's wife. She is the perfect wife and mother to their twin boys. She is often suspicious of Leo's late meetings and has smelled another's woman's perfume on his clothes. However, she wants to live in a fantasy land of pretending everything is okay until she receives a text message that rocks her world. It simply reads, "If you want your child to come home, your husband needs to tell the truth." This will be the straw that breaks the camel's back. You don't mess with mama's boys. This is how the book begins. It is then broken up into parts as we go back in time to see how we arrived at this moment. This was a riveting story right up until the satisfying conclusion. I was completely blown away by where we ended up in this masterful plot.

I do not believe I have ever disliked a character as much as I disliked Leo. His actions and attitude were appalling. I guess this dislike by the reader of this character was by design. I was not supposed to like Leo. Nicole Trope did a fantastic job of pulling me into the story and raising the hackles on my back. This was an engrossing psychological thriller that will play with the minds of the characters, as well the reader's mind. The mouse trap is set. Now we have to catch a rodent. I am still a little speechless. Prepare to be blown away.

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

What’s not to like? Amazing author. Great plot and a husband with a secret life. Great read that will have your mind trying to make connections and figure it out.

Diana, a devoted wife and mother to twin sons, finds herself at a crossroads as she grapples with the reality of her husband Leo's hidden life. Leo, a real estate agent who prides himself on his flashy car and outward appearance of success, is entangled in a web of deceit fueled by shady real estate deals and numerous extramarital affairs. Despite their picture-perfect facade, secrets lurk beneath the surface, threatening to unravel their seemingly perfect family.
As Diana contemplates the future of her marriage, a single text message has the power to shatter the fragile peace they have constructed. The revelation contained within that message has the potential to upend their lives, forcing them to confront the lies and betrayals that have been festering beneath the veneer of perfection.
Now, Diana must navigate the tumultuous waters ahead, deciding whether to confront Leo and face the truth head-on or continue to live in the shadow of deception.
What a roller coaster, so many twist and turns. That is what I love about this author, you are always guaranteed a good, quick read that will keep you guessing.
Leo was a very unlikable character, you just felt that karma had caught up with him and he deserved what happened, even if it was a bit unbelievable.

Revenge is the theme and I'm here for it! His Double Life is broken into 3 parts from multiple POVs. I have to say, I really enjoyed part 2 and 3 the most. It had some good twists that surprised me. I enjoy Nicole's style of writing so much. Like this felt like a behind the scenes crime unfolding. I can't wait for her next book.

First, I want to thank Nicole Trope, Bookouture, and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

DANG!!! Nicole Trope’s latest psychological thriller is so wickedly jaw droppingly good!! Ohh this book is insanely twisted that I found myself yelling at the characters in the book!! This is unlike any book Nicole has ever written. For that fact you need to put it on your TBR list!

My mind was blown away instantly with the bombshells that she unleashed in the prologue! There were so many questions from just the prologue that I needed answers to!! Needless to say I didn’t put the book down til I had all my answers.

Yes, this is another book where I am thankful that I am single! All the secrets, lies, betrayal, the obsession, the neediness, the clinging on, oh no I don’t miss that at all!

There were some characters in this book that I just loved to hate! Two characters got under my skin to the fact that I was literally fuming!!

I have always read Nicole Trope's books and most of her books are unputdownable and fast paced. And this book is no exception.

Leo seem to be a loyal and loving husband. But is he really? His wife, Diana knows that Leo is hiding secrets and maybe having an affair. While at a conference, Leo meets a woman named Serena but Serena's main aim is to take revenge on Leo that happened few years ago. So what is the secret?

This book is well written and I was literally hooked till the end. The writing was really great and the author did a good job of getting the reader into the story. The story is fast paced, a page turner and of course quiet unputdownable as well. The story is told in the POVs of Diana, Leo and Serena who we later on know that her real name was actually Melanie. The ending was a bit expected but then I actually like the ending. The epilogue was really great as well.

If you are looking for a twisted thriller with family secrets, then this book is for you--worth five stars.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.

I brought this book on vacation with me and almost finished it on the plane! Trope does a great job jumping from character to character while keeping the reader guessing! The ending of this book leaves room for a sequal - and without spoiling - I would love a second book to see where these characters have ended up in 10 years. Each character has depth and new characters that we meet more towards the end are worth exploring! Thank you for the advance copy - I will be recommending to friends!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for gifting me a digital ARC of the latest domestic thriller by Nicole Trope - 4 twisty stars!

Leo and Diana are married, with 10-year-old twins, Rowan and Sawyer. Their marriage is trying for Diana - she suspects him of cheating when he goes out of town and he doesn't have much time for the boys. But she wants to keep their marriage together. Until one day when only one boy returns for playing at the park, and Diana receives a message that says Leo needs to tell the truth.

Told in short chapters from multiple POV, this book will keep you surprised and second guessing everything. As always, Trope keeps you turning the pages as fast as you can to see how it's all going to play out. There are characters you will love to hate in this one, and that ending was quite the surprise - it will be up to you to decide if justice was served.

I took a deep breath before writing this post.

You see, Nicole Trope, is well, she's Nicole Trope, and I want to make sure I do her and His Double Life, justice.

Ive been a fan of Trope since the day her debut, The Boy Under the Table, fell into my lap. So, I would say our "book-ship" started around 2012 (that's a pretty long time for a girl with commitment issues). Along the way I stumbled across some favorites, The Day After the Party, The Mothers Fault, and The Family Across the Street. For the longest time, I swore The Day After the Party, could not be surpassed and would forever be a favorite.

That is, until, His Double Life, came along.

Holy hell Batman, what was that?!?!

Secrets, Lies, Deceit... oh my! Who doesn't look a domestic thriller? I know, personally, Im a fan and His Double Life, was right up my alley.

Cue the shock factor, you might think you have read a domestic thriller before but I promise you, this one packs such a punch, you'll be doubled over for a week.

Check out this teaser :

Loving father. Loyal husband. Liar?

In our large family home on a peaceful, tree-lined street, I clear away the breakfast things whilst my husband ignores me, his eyes on his phone. Leo comes home from conferences with flowers for me and hugs for our twin ten-year-old boys, but each time I smell an unfamiliar perfume on his shirt. I know all about his affairs and it’s tearing my heart in two.

When one of the boys tumbles into the kitchen, full of laughter that he beat his brother in the race home from the park, I smile despite everything. When his brother isn’t right behind him, I start to worry… and then I get a text that makes my blood run cold. If you want your child to come home, your husband needs to tell the truth.

Is my husband hiding even darker secrets than his affairs? As I realise his double life has put my children in terrible danger, I make a promise: I will not let my husband’s lies destroy my life. And I will do anything to get my son back…

Nicole Trope is an automatic read for me. Her stories can enthrall me for hours.
This one is extra special and twisted!
My mind starts darting about as soon as I begin because what are the connections that I need to make with all the information I’m receiving.
I knew Leo was a lowlife after just a few sentences. Diana isn’t as clueless as she seems. Serena was a bit more mysterious, but wow, Trope threw in a major curveball in the last inning that made my jaw drop.
I delighted at the befitting punishment for one main character whose continuous lies wove a web of deceit so tight it was incredible.
Great story!

Thank you net galley and publisher for this ARC. This book moved at a good pace and I didn’t see the twist coming until right before it was revealed. I wasn’t immediately drawn into this story as much as her previous books, but still enjoyed the book.

One day, Sawyer just doesn't come home
And Diana received a text on her phone
"If you want Sawyer to come home, your husband needs to tell the truth"

Diana and Leo has been married for fifteen years with twin boys, but Diana knows that her marriage is on edge. She knows that Leo has been cheating on her.
Leo met Serena in a real estate conference. While he's really obviously attracted to Serena, unfortunately Serena has a hidden agenda that will ruin Leo's life.

I don't want to reveal too much as I'm worry I'll be giving you spoiler and ruined the suspense of this story. This is not just a story about love affair, it's more than that. It's a big revenge story with unexpected twists. The ending is a bit underwhelming, for me it's kind of not making sense, yet it's kind of making this story different.

This is my first book by Nicole Trope but it definitely won’t be my last. Nicole wove a complicated web in this thriller and there were alot of twists I didn’t see coming, it was a fast paced, enjoyable read.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review

This was another excellent, pacy read from Nicole Trope. A dynamic beginning catapults straight into the action.

The scene is set early with plenty of mystery surrounding the main characters, creating a desire to read on and discover more about each of them. I enjoyed the gradual reveal of characterisation too, always wondering what the full picture would be. Nicole Trope writes such well-rounded characters that they leap off the page into your mind. Some draw empathy whilst others, like Leo, portrayed brilliantly, make the reader uncomfortable with his actions.

The short chapters, varying perspectives and storyline jumping back to the past, gradually drawing closer to the present day story, make for a compelling, quick read as the twists and turns held my interest.

I hold great admiration for authors who create strong, intricate layered plots and this one certainly fits that category.

The pace is unrelenting, building palpable tension, leading to a strong conclusion.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC (Advance Reader Copy) of His Double Life by Nicole Trope. This book was written in 3 parts. I found Part 1 to be good and I enjoyed the book. Part 2 really seemed to drag for me but luckily it picked up again for Part 3. It is a domestic suspense novel about secrets and the trouble they cause. This was not a thriller in my opinion. It wasn't bad just not my favourite.
4 Star rating rounded up for me.

Another great Trope read!!
I’ve read almost all of her backlist and it’s always exciting to see what she comes up with next. She writes absolutely fabulous page turners. She does not need fancy twists and turns, this lady can write without all the extra fluff. Brilliantly talented.

A fun read.
Diana loves her husband, Leo, and their ten-year-old twins Rowan and Sawyer. They live in Sydney in a great house and are mostly happy. Diana just wishes that Leo would interact with the boys a little and be home more but Leo is in real-estate and is always working, even when he is at home he is constantly on his phone. Every year Leo has to go away to overnight conferences and Diana suspects he may be cheating while away but has not had the courage to confront him. Leo thinks he is the best sales man in his real-estate firm and thinks he will be in line to manage the place when his boss retires in a few years’ time. He may love his wife but he cheats on her every chance he gets. He may love his boys but he finds them annoying and far too talkative. He would do anything to make a sale even if it’s illegal. Leo loves going to his conferences and that is where he meets enchanting Serena. Leo becomes so obsessed with Serena he starts meeting her once a week back in Sydney but Serena is not at all what Leo believes her to be.
What happened next will surprise you but for that you've to order your copy.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advance copy.

I really enjoyed this book! It was a thrilling fast-paced ride; the twists and turns had me intrigued throughout! It kept me on my toes and just when I thought I had figured things out, a curveball was thrown my way.

The way the book was structured also contributed to my enjoyment. I loved reading the chapters from the POV of the different characters, it helped understand their motivation. The pacing was also great!
